Ahorita que lo pienso, creo que no lo mencioné antes, pero en Venezuela —o por lo menos aquí donde vivo— se manejan varias teorías con respecto a los martes 13 y los viernes 13. Sinceramente, nunca he creído en supersticiones; de hecho, aún no creo en ellas. Sin embargo, pienso que el próximo año las respetaré.Hello friends, how are you? After my Tuesday the 13th entry, things got quite crazy. Now that I think about it, I believe I didn't mention it before, but in Venezuela —or at least where I live— there are several theories regarding Tuesday the 13th and Friday the 13th. Honestly, I've never believed in superstitions; in fact, I still don't. However, I think that next year I will respect them.
El día que tuve el accidente fue un martes 13 y, la verdad, aun sin tener esa superstición en la cabeza, sucedió todo eso. El accidente fue bastante trágico. Por suerte no acabó con la vida de nadie; sin embargo, trajo una serie de problemas tanto para esa persona como para nosotros. Aún sin ser culpables, ha sido una cuestión bastante tediosa: mucho papeleo y muchísimas cosas. Evidentemente hay una parte que está más afectada, pero pienso que los trámites aquí en Venezuela son bastante lentos y, a veces, injustos. Sin embargo, la ley es la ley.
The day I had the accident was a Tuesday the 13th, and honestly, even without having that superstition in my head, all of that happened. The accident was quite tragic. Fortunately, it didn't claim anyone's life; however, it brought a series of problems for both that person and us. Even without being at fault, it has been a very tedious ordeal: so much paperwork and so many things. Obviously, one party is more affected, but I think the procedures here in Venezuela are quite slow and sometimes unfair. Nevertheless, the law is the law.
Agradezco el estar bien, el estar viva y el haber ido en una camioneta y no en un carro. De hecho, si hubiese andado en carro, todo hubiera sido totalmente distinto: la historia sería otra. Por suerte estoy bien con mi familia, aunque un poco cansada y bastante adolorida, pues a nivel físico me duelen bastante las partes que recibieron el mayor impacto, especialmente mi cervical —que es lo que más me ha generado conflicto— al igual que la zona lumbar.
I am grateful to be okay, to be alive, and to have been in a truck/SUV rather than a car. In fact, if I had been in a car, everything would have been completely different—the story would be entirely another. Luckily, I am fine with my family, although a bit tired and in quite a bit of pain. Physically, the parts that received the greatest impact hurt a lot, especially my neck, which has caused me the most trouble, as well as my lower back.
Estoy tomando una serie de medicamentos que realmente me ponen bastante mal, pues me dan mucho sueño y hacen que me sienta adormecida, por así decirlo. Pero bueno, nada, aún seguimos en trámites de muchas cosas, tanto en cuanto al vehículo como al proceso como tal, lo cual no ha sido absolutamente nada fácil. De verdad que es algo que no se lo deseo a nadie. Pero bueno, pronto les estaré subiendo actualizaciones. ¡Nos vemos en un próximo post!
I am taking a series of medications that really make me feel quite unwell, as they make me very drowsy and leave me feeling numb, so to speak. But well, we are still going through procedures for many things, both regarding the vehicle and the legal process itself, which has not been easy at all. Truly, it's something I wouldn't wish on anyone. Anyhow, I'll be posting updates soon. See you in the next post!
