Hello, dear Hive Diy community! I hope you are having a great day today.

Today, I’m sharing some sketches I made yesterday. It had been quite a while since I last practiced drawing poses, so I decided it was high time to get back to it. I tried to draw a variety of poses featuring very different types of people; I find this helps add diversity to my work and keeps me from always drawing the same body type a bad habit of mine, haha! Now, let’s walk through the process.

PROCESO | PROCESS

  • I started by creating some very rough, loose sketches. To ensure variety, I included a young boy, a slightly older girl, an older woman, and two older men—all quite distinct from one another. Once the structure was set, I refined the lines—not perfectly, but clean enough—since, after all, this is just a practice exercise.

  • After finishing the line art, I began shading each character individually. I used shades of gray and kept the detail level low, as my goal was simply to visualize how they might look in a final, polished piece.
  • This step was straightforward: I played with light and dark tones, placing them strategically to create contrast. If I had used only a single shade of gray for everything, the drawings would have ended up looking too flat—which is definitely not what I wanted!

  • To wrap things up, I added a subtle shadow to the inner areas of three of the characters and created a very simple, light-gray background. That last part was purely an aesthetic choice—I just liked how it looked, hehe!

  • That’s all, folks! I hope you enjoyed the process and liked the drawing.
  • I tried to explain everything as clearly as possible, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. Bye!
  • Best regards! And see you in the next post.
