Today I want to show you the progress of my home garden. Do you remember how it looked last time? As I mentioned, there was even a tomato on the tomato plant; unfortunately, that single fruit didn’t thrive—it never fully grew or developed, but instead detached from the plant while still green. That doesn’t worry me, though, because I’ve noticed the plant already has some flowers, and I’m confident that more shoots—and, of course, more tomatoes—will soon appear. According to what I’ve read online, these plants sometimes do this: they produce a single fruit that they end up shedding on their own, only to later produce more, healthy fruit.
I also have a spearmint plant, but it has been growing quite a bit downwards, so I’ll look for a way to keep it contained within the pot. I also need to trim off the dry leaves that I see scattered everywhere; this will undoubtedly help my little garden thrive even more.
I also have this plant—which we call "Llantén" here in Venezuela—that is very effective for treating skin imperfections. Do you see those spikes? Those are its seeds; they scatter easily, which is why the plant spreads so rapidly.
But the star of my garden is the turmeric. Look at how big the leaves have grown! I’ll include a link to my previous post so you can see just how much it has developed in such a short time. I remember that early on—when the first leaf shoots were just emerging—the root was more exposed and had a bright orange color; now, however, it has settled deeper into the soil and taken on a duller hue—but according to my research, that’s perfectly normal. In my home country (Venezuela), it’s very common to consume turmeric in powdered form; it’s excellent for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and it also helps with glycemic control and cardiovascular health. I’m really looking forward to the harvest! Rest assured that when the time comes, I’ll be sure to share it with you all.
Thank you for your attention; we shall meet again, God willing. Sending you blessings.
