**La aventura de hoy nos lleva a recorrer la avenida Aristiguieta y las orillas del río Manzanares. Esta avenida conduce hacia la carretera nacional de Cumanacoa y sirve de límite entre el río y el casco histórico de la ciudad. Para crear un ambiente colorido y agradable, el año pasado se pintaron varios murales en las paredes y fachadas de las casas que bordean la avenida. Uno de ellos retrata a la artista María Rodríguez, oriunda de Cumaná, en una obra llena de colorido; a su lado aparece la iglesia de Santa Inés rodeada de flores, mientras que en la esquina siguiente se representa a la artista luciendo la banda tricolor de Venezuela. También destaca una llamativa casa blanca de numerosas puertas y ventanas, que ofrece vistas al río Manzanares y a la vegetación de sus orillas. La zona de la "Ciudad Mural" comienza junto a una casa azul que exhibe un verso de una canción dedicada a Cumaná, situada al lado de la iglesia de Santa Inés y de la imagen de la artista. **Today's adventure takes us on a tour along Aristiguieta Avenue and the banks of the Manzanares River. This avenue leads toward the Cumanacoa national highway and serves as a boundary between the river and the city's historic center. To create a colorful and pleasant atmosphere, a series of murals were painted last year on the walls and houses lining the avenue. One of them depicts the artist María Rodríguez—a native of Cumaná—in a vibrant mural; beside her is an image of the Santa Inés Church surrounded by flowers, while the next corner features the artist wearing the Venezuelan tricolor sash. There is also a striking white house with numerous doors and windows, offering a view of the Manzanares River and the trees along its banks. The "Mural City" area begins next to a blue house displaying a line from a song dedicated to Cumaná, alongside the Santa Inés Church and the artist's image. Next, we see the lyrics: "Oh Cumaná, if only I could walk your streets and go to early morning Mass at San Francisco." Finally, we have a view of the Manzanares River, the colorful walls of Aristeguieta Avenue, and the corner leading to Santa Inés Street, where other murals—part of the "Mural City" project—pay tribute to the artists and notable figures of Sucre State.
Al entrar en la calle Santa Inés, uno se encuentra con un mural del célebre poeta Andrés Eloy Blanco, además de vistas de diversas casas de estilo colonial. A lo largo de esta calle y de la adyacente, conocida como El Alacrán, se pueden apreciar viviendas con marcadas influencias coloniales, como techos de teja, muros altos y las características jardineras en las fachadas; asimismo, rosas y mariposas adornan los murales de la esquina. Tras admirar las coloridas figuras e identificar a algunos de los personajes representados en los murales, me dirigí hacia la ribera del río Manzanares. Allí vi diversos árboles, entre ellos tamarindos y ceibas y senderos que conducen a la orilla del río. Un camino serpentea entre los árboles, ofreciendo un paseo agradable con vistas increíbles del río bajo la sombra de estos gigantes verdes. Las orillas del río también cuentan con pequeñas plazas y bancos de concreto donde los visitantes pueden sentarse a descansar, disfrutar de la brisa y contemplar el paisaje natural y el entorno urbano a lo largo de la avenida Aristiguieta.
Upon entering Santa Inés Street, one encounters a mural of the renowned poet Andrés Eloy Blanco, along with views of various colonial-style houses. Along this street and the adjacent one—known as El Alacrán—one can see homes featuring distinct colonial influences, such as tiled roofs, high walls, and characteristic front-facing flower boxes; roses and butterflies also adorn the murals at the corner. After admiring the colorful figures and identifying some of the depicted figures in the murals, I proceeded toward the banks of the Manzanares River. There, I saw various trees—including tamarind and ceiba—and walkways leading to the river's edge. A path winds through the trees, offering a pleasant walk with incredible views of the river under the shade of these green giants. The riverbanks also feature small plazas and concrete benches where visitors can sit to rest, enjoy the breeze, and take in the natural landscape and urban surroundings along Aristigueta Avenue.
Al finalizar el recorrido, observamos las casas destacadas de la avenida Aristiguieta, que llaman la atención por sus diseños llamativos y la abundancia de puertas y ventanas; junto a ellas se encuentran otras viviendas más pequeñas y de colores vivos. A continuación, contemplamos el río Manzanares y la vegetación que bordea sus orillas. El Manzanares es una vía fluvial fundamental para la ciudad; a su paso por el centro crea un paisaje hermoso antes de desembocar en el mar. Es un lugar muy frecuentado, especialmente por las mañanas y las tardes, donde la gente se sienta en los muros cercanos al paseo para descansar, conversar y disfrutar de un café. Desde este punto también se divisan parte del puente Guzmán Blanco, las oficinas del parque Guaiquerí y una vista parcial de la calle Mariño, una de las vías más importantes del núcleo económico de la ciudad. Fue una agradable aventura matutina recorrer esta avenida, donde pude apreciar diversos edificios inspirados en la arquitectura colonial, así como los hermosos murales de la ciudad.
As the tour concludes, we see the prominent houses along Aritigueta Avenue, which stand out for their striking designs featuring numerous windows and doors; alongside them sit smaller, brightly colored houses. Next, we view the Manzanares River and the trees lining its banks. The Manzanares is a major waterway for the city, creating beautiful scenery as it flows through the center before emptying into the sea. It is a popular spot, especially in the mornings and afternoons, where people sit on the walls near the walkway to rest, chat, and enjoy a coffee. From here, one can also see part of the Guzmán Blanco Bridge, the Guaiquerí Park offices, and a partial view of Mariño Street—one of the most important streets in the city's economic hub. It was a pleasant morning adventure to tour this avenue, where I observed various buildings inspired by colonial architecture as well as the city's beautiful murals.
