Vitamin people: those who recharge your life
Hello Holos&Lotus community, today I bring you this topic that I found super interesting to write about. In some of my previous posts, I had talked about this type of people, but now I would like to delve a little deeper into their meaning.
According to Google's AI: they are individuals who transmit positive energy, improve the mood, and generate emotional well-being in those around them. The concept became very popular thanks to the Spanish psychiatrist and writer Marian Rojas Estapé, who presented it as a counterpoint to the so-called "toxic people."
Among the main characteristics of these people, we have:
- Empathy and listening: They listen to you without judging and make you feel safe.
- Realistic optimism: They help you see problems from a solution-oriented perspective instead of fostering constant complaining.
- Chemical effect: Being with them, the body releases oxytocin (the hormone of calm and social bonds) and reduces stress and cortisol levels.
- Feeling of recharge: After spending time with a vitamin person, you return home in a better mood, with peace of mind and motivation.
As you can see, this type of person, I think they give us a lot of energy, that's why they are called that, it's like drinking a smoothie rich in vitamins and feeling super healthy and happy. It's very nice to have this type of people in your life, but also to be one of them.
But you might be wondering, how can I find them or where are they hiding, haha, I think it's partly a matter of luck, but it also depends on the places you go to. I never get tired of mentioning volunteer work; in these types of activities, many people with these characteristics come together, and I think that's normal.
Since I was very young, I liked participating in these types of activities for the benefit of our society, in different areas that I liked, such as: education, leadership, entrepreneurship, technology, the environment, and much more.
And in almost 90% of the many volunteer activities I was part of, I got to know great people who had many of those characteristics. Obviously, they weren't all like that, but you could even feel that desire to support each other, to grow together, and above all, you felt really good.
Sometimes it happened to me that, for example, I was having a bad day or was stressed, and when I attended my volunteer meetings, all that bad energy would go away and I felt like doing a million things. I don't know if you've ever experienced something similar, but it's a rare feeling, I would even say you can feel that good energy in those kinds of places.
But something nice about getting together or having these people by your side is that you also become like that; it has happened to me that sometimes they tell me that talking with me for a moment kind of boosts their energy or their motivation to do things.
The truth is, I'm glad to be able to feel both things, because if someone is helping you, you can also reciprocate in the same way.
There was even a time when, while talking with friends from past volunteer activities, we realized that people outside are not like that. For example, at work, they might be talking badly about you, doing everything to make you fail, or hating you, but in the volunteer work we attended, it wasn't like that.
It seemed like everyone supported each other in everything; if you needed something or other, you never heard a no. It's complicated to reach that level because I also saw that there are volunteer organizations that just exploit you and you don't get anything good from being there, which is why they quit, leave, or even shut down.
I learned so much from these organizations that I now have this gift of being able to see who are good people or would contribute to the volunteer work and who wouldn't, but it's more of a sixth sense, I think.
I don't consider myself an expert, mind you, hehe, but I feel like I can get an idea through their responses, their behavior, their CV, and even the aura they project.
So you know, the next time you meet someone new, take a good look and analyze if they could be a vitamin person, but also try to be one yourself, I bet you'll then fill your life with more and more people like that.
Thank you for reading, and see you in the next post.
