#Monomad Challenge - A Glimmer of Hope

Good evening, #Monomad friends

Here is my entry for the #monomad contest by @brumest and @monochromes.

We don’t need grand signs. It doesn’t even have to be magnificent or magnanimous. An idea of freedom is born from a child’s simple dream. It can even be compared to a streak of light that stubbornly filters through the gaps between buildings, which stand in a row at the end of the afternoon, lined up to receive the warmth of a sun that will soon bid farewell.

In Europe, we see signs of many political changes. We may be haunted by the fears of times past, but all we can do is believe that information will give others the ability to assess the real options we have—and in which we can place our trust. Not a blind trust, one that allows itself to be enchanted, just as Odysseus’s men were enchanted by the sirens… But we must try to discern what is merely an illusion and distinguish it from other actions that do nothing to elevate a society, instead catapulting it back decades.

Not all actions are justifiable, nor can all scenarios be credible.

Let our minds and hearts drink from the light that dispels and repels darkness and gloom—darkness and gloom that grow with the fear of the unknown. Just like a child who believes in the bogeyman lurking under their bed.
