I invite you to see yourself where you want to be, and not where others have placed you.
When I read this question, I paused........ Because this is exactly my story.
For many years, I was living where others placed me. I was not living my own life. I was following people.
If my friends said we should go and learn tailoring, I followed. If my family said I should not do this, I should do that, I followed....... If my parents said this is how a woman should behave, I followed. I never asked myself, what do I really want?
My life was a reflection of other people's opinions. My parents, my family, my friends. I was afraid to say no. I was afraid they would say I am stubborn. So I was just following the crowd, doing what everybody was doing, even when inside me I was not happy.
But last year, something changed. I sat down and asked myself, is this where I want to be? The answer was no.
I realized I was in a place that others built for me, not a place I built for myself.
That day I decided to figure out my own life. I started to make my own decisions...... Small decisions first...... What I want to wear, what I want to learn, where I want to go, who I want to be with!!!!!!!!!!!. I stopped following people blindly.
Now I am not yet 100 percent where I want to be, but I am no longer where others placed me. I am on my own road now. And for the first time, I feel free.
Because I finally chose myself.
