Business Studies - LOL #304

If I had the time and could take an educational course on absolutely anything? I think I would choose something that has to do with entrepreneurship and business . It is funny because when I look at my educational journey, I realise that I essentially studied what I would call a typical 9 to 5 course. I went through the normal process of getting educated, getting qualified, building experience and preparing myself to become a professional who would eventually work within an organisation for "job security." There is absolutely nothing wrong with that path, and to be fair, it has given me valuable knowledge, discipline and it is safe but sometimes I wonder whether the things I studied were really aligned with the way my mind naturally works. I have always had this knack for business. Whenever I see a company doing something interesting, I don't just look at what they are selling. I start wondering why people are buying it, how the company makes its money, what their expenses look like, how they found their customers, what their competition is doing and whether there is another way the entire thing could be done. My head just goes spiralling. Sometimes I can be sitting somewhere completely unrelated to business and suddenly find myself thinking about a business model or a problem that could potentially be turned into a service.

The idea of simply becoming an entrepreneur and telling people that I am a business owner, being my own boss. I would want to understand how successful entrepreneurs identify problems that are worth solving and to put it out their, i have read rich dad poor dad multiple times. Lol!. I also think one of the biggest differences between having an idea and having a business is foundationally having a startup capital and its that simple. Their are people with brilliant ideas but your idea will only be that, just an idea if you dont have the capital to bring it to life.

The other reason I find venture building interesting is because I don't think every business needs to be revolutionary. Sometimes we have this strange idea that entrepreneurship means creating the next Amazon, Tesla or Facebook. I don't necessarily think that way. There are so many ordinary problems around us that people have simply accepted as part of life because nobody has bothered to solve them properly. There are inefficient processes, businesses still doing things manually, services that are unnecessarily complicated, information that is difficult to access and countless problems created by the gap between what technology can do and what people are actually using it to do. I can really go on and on about this as i truly believe everything is a business, every single profession is a business and for you to be successful in your profession, you have to learn the business side of it too.

Perhaps the funniest part of all this is that I sometimes wonder whether I studied the wrong thing. I spent years preparing myself for employment, and now I find myself increasingly interested in creating things that could potentially employ other people. LO!

If I actually had the time to take this course, I wouldn't want to finish it with nothing more than a certificate hanging on my wall. I would want to use the knowledge immediately.

So yes, I may have studied a typical 9 to 5 cours which i dont want to say here, but perhaps there is still time to take a few lessons elsewhere because the business won't build itself. LOL and honestly, if I ever get the opportunity, I think I would enjoy the classes a lot more.

There are many ways to study and acquire knowledge. You don't need a school, or a classroom. Sometimes books, conversations, documents, journals and you can get them for cheap or free online. There are plenty of books about business, productization, operability and how to make a business plan. Entrepreneurship is really just start an idea and see if it works. There are many organizations for entrepreneurs. I remember Tech Stars is a great one for tech development. Also Crypto offer many Venture capitals and incubators and hackathons for digital entrepreneurs. But also the best thing is just to build an app and get started. AI is changing everything of course, and is making it easier for many to just build the product and start capitalizing on it.
