Good morning Summoners! The RNG gods finally smiled on me today.
I was grinding rewards, cracking open those glowing chests and spinning the wheel of destiny and there it was. The glowing blue border. The trident. The rat-infested pirate energy. Ratbound Corsair just dropped into my collection.
And with that single pull, my Arena Vanguard foundation set is now sitting at 7 out of 8.Remaining the dragon Archon to complete the set.
Only one card left.
The big one.
The Legendary Dragon Archon: Aurendrak Goldwarden.
Quick Reminder: What Is the Arena Vanguard? Released mid-year (July 21, 2026), the Arena Vanguard is a limited-run, community-designed Foundation set created in collaboration with some of the most dedicated streamers and creators in the game. It consists of:
- 7 Rare units (one for almost every major element + Neutral + Dragon)
- 1 Legendary Dragon Archon
These aren’t just flavor cards. They were specifically designed to fill tactical gaps in Frontier, bring high-mana options that actually feel good to play, and finally give Frontier a real Dragon Archon with Tactics.
The full roster:
| Card | Element | Rarity | Inspired By |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jolius Blast | Fire | Rare | iBlast |
| Ratbound Corsair | Water | Rare | Mickvir |
| Khan Feywest | Earth | Rare | EhmayWuntee |
| King Erminaz Twincleaver | Life | Rare | King-Arminius |
| Gorm the Vengeful | Death | Rare | OFG |
| Buns the Unseen | Neutral | Rare | Buns Bags and Caps |
| Vaelok | Dragon | Rare | ANK |
| Aurendrak Goldwarden | Dragon | Legendary Archon | GoldMatters |
Why This Pull Hits Different
Ratbound Corsair is one of the more unique pieces in the set. At only 9 mana (the lowest of the Rare units), he’s a Tideborn ranged attacker with Close Range right from level 1 — meaning he can still fire from the front line. At higher levels he picks up Blast, letting him splash damage onto adjacent enemies.
In a format where high-mana cards can feel clunky and positioning is everything, having a flexible 9-mana ranged threat that doesn’t get completely shut down by frontline pressure is genuinely useful.
I have been slowly collecting these since release through a mix of Lux’s Favor spins, Spark Shop (before they sold out), community giveaways, and daily rewards. Hitting the Water one today felt like the puzzle almost clicking into place.
The Final Boss: Aurendrak Goldwarden.
This is the one that changes everything. A Dragon Archon with Tactics that can grant either Flank or Void to a unit. Being able to run true multi-element Dragon teams in Frontier (something that was previously impossible) is huge. He is the centerpiece of the entire set for a reason.
Right now I’m sitting on a solid 7/8. The hunt for Aurendrak continues.
Splinterlands is no walk in the park, but that's amps up the excitement.A winning strategy weighs stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and beyond. That's why you must factor them all into your deck building.Toss in strong cards to boost your setups, and push hard to rack up as many victories as possible! 🔥.The set is limited. The supply is finite. Completing a full community-designed Foundation set in Frontier delivers exactly the kind of dopamine hit that keeps us coming back. One more card.
