- this felt like such a perfect book for the current time of the year. Halloween, pumpkins, latte, rains, autumn, and a lot of coziness. The typical love story that comes with laughter, frustration and a bit of spiciness, but which I can't complain about as I love having a bit of eroticism in my reads lol.
- It's funny how even if it stays as my favourite book from this trilogy, I find it the most difficult to pick my words when writing the review without revealing any spoilers, but I strongly believe everyone should read this, whether you are into thriller & crime books or not.
- This one was, actually, my first read from Freida back in August after hearing a lot of good things about this author, but having no idea about her writing style, which is, by the way, so easy to fall in love with. All the plot twists are insane, and Don't Lie is such a rollercoaster of emotions and situations, making you be convinced you figured out who the bad guy is, until... surprise! The ending is nothing like what you could ever have thought about. I'd happily read this book all over again.
- Anyway, The Inmate was another masterpiece from Freida. A whole rollercoaster from start to finish, with a crazy start that makes you think you finally know who's the bad guy, but then you remember you read one of Freida's masterpieces, where no matter how much you try, you'll never guess right. And that it's being proven quite a few times throughout the book. Loved it.
- But now that I finally read it, I can say that it was fully worth it. This has been a very intense read. Actually, I think it's one of the most graphic books I've read of this kind, and I've read plenty of thriller/police/crime books before. With a little trigger warning that there are plenty of details given on each crime that takes place in this book, I believe it's definitely an interesting read for fans of these genres. There is no way to get bored along the way, but rather keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what happens next. I can't wait to have the 2nd book translated and rel
- Although I can say that I am already familiar with Freida's writing style, it's still impossible to figure out what's going on before you reach the last hundred pages, when a whole rollercoaster of crazy twists begins. It's true, though, that I had a supposition about what could happen that was pretty close to reality, but then everything went all over the place and proved how powerful a human's brain is when writing a story. Absolutely loved the first book.
- At first it seemed like too much fantasy for my taste, with a lot of terms I wasn't familiar with, but as soon as the action started, I couldn't let it go of my hands for too long. Reading fantasy books happens quite often in my life, but Phantasma felt so different from what I've read before, exceeding all my expectations with its crazy twists and rich world-building.
- This was a book that started with a little déjà vu if you've read The Housemaid series and Don't Lie, which then evolved into the feeling of knowing who the bad guy is, but still managed to keep you on the edge of your seat, concluding with lots of crazy twists and turns just as Freida made us get used to. Despite being a fan of this author and reading lots of books written by her, it never stops surprising me with how unexpectedly these stories always end, still thinking where all the creativity comes from since each book has its own storyline and there are really, not just a few books
- Fortunately, it turned out that I couldn't be more wrong on my presumption of expecting some stories to be on repeat from the first book, because The Reaper surprised me in all possible ways and kept me more curious than ever. Loved all the unexpected twists, and it finally made me understand why this series was all over BookTok.
- It had been a while since I last read a forbidden love story filled with drama, and this book definitely delivered plenty of that. It was a full rollercoaster of emotions, spicy at times, but entertaining enough to keep me hooked even though I took a few breaks between reading sessions. Definitely a story that will be hard to forget.
- Despite its cheap price, it turned into a relaxing read with the story of a young girl who faces lots of racial challenges as well as situations caused by being HIV-positive, which is often misunderstood by people. The book has only around 250 pages, and even if it's a pretty basic story with not too many twists, it still managed to avoid becoming a boring read, which I am grateful for.

- The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F#ck was not only that, but also like a good friend you could have around you anytime you would open the book. Nevertheless, reading it came in a very delicate moment when I felt los,t which is quite a frequent mood I have lately, but accompanied by the right book, it really helps take that mood away at least for a while and even feel more determined to prove wrong to those who have a wrong impression of yourself, such as being a weak person.
- The book is quite a classic if you ask me, with romance, drama, tears of both happiness and sadness, but most importantly, a very cosy and chill read with the storyline happening in a decent rhythm to keep you both curious and relaxed at the same time. I loved how things evolved between Tate and Miles, although I could find some aspects similar in the overall story of this book and "Reminders of Him", but being a chill and nice read, it didn't bother me that much. Fully enjoyed it and can't wait to read more from her!
- This is a very short read, just over 200 pages, but it’s packed with action and interesting details that make the rest of the volumes much more meaningful. While two of the other volumes didn’t capture my attention as much, I truly enjoyed reading Shadows. It was a fantastic experience, offering a fresh perspective on one of my all-time favorite series
- Even if it's quite easy to figure out where it will all lead, as well as get some of the plot twists, it was hard to be angry or upset with the overall story because it felt so real, relaxing, and beautiful to read. So, even if the story between Daisy and Elliot started somewhat differently than that of the previous characters of this book series, I did live every minute spent with these two, making it a very lovely and chill read, like most of Laurie's writings.
- Reading this book came with a full baggage of emotions. From frustration to curiosity, from fear to mercy, from enthusiasm to anger and so on. But most importantly, it felt like a great mix between love and betrayal, between family and friends, but also between corruption and hidden stories. They all combined into an interesting story with both unexpected and easily anticipated twists, but a good read overall.
- Anyway, even if I always try to stay away from people's opinions before I create my own, I ended up feeling the same. Although the plot twist did not disappoint, this book could easily have been included in the 3rd book of The Housemaid series. Or it could even be a whole new book, but with more aspects of Millie's life presented other than just the wedding, because I am sure Freida could find a few more aspects on this and make it even better than it currently is. In both cases, it would have made it a better story than feeling like reading a single chapter spread over a bit over 100 pages.
- However, this month hit differently as I really wanted to explore some newer authors, and I have no regrets. The book is pretty short but very engaging, with an easy to follow story. Despite getting a few ideas about possible twists of the story, I honestly found this very interesting, with things I was far from figuring out how they would play. The single reason that made me take out one ⭐ is that the actual ending of the book was something I could see coming, but which could have been avoided if the book had ended after Elisabeth read the letter from her mother.
- It was my first read from Lauren Asher, which I quickly fell in love with and even though I had a blast reading this book, there are two aspects that, sadly, made me avoid offering 5 stars. First, the cover of the book and the title are catching a lot of attention around this time of the year, which is not a bad thing, but sadly, the story itself doesn't have much to do with Christmas other than having the main story happening around the end of the year, and I really hoped to see more Christmasy things within.
- This was one of the best books a book lover can read, as we get a different perspective on how much reading and literature can influence one's lifestyle. Although I appreciated the fictional way showing how important reading is, I felt from time to time that some details were missing or some stories were taken a bit too far. But I guess, book stories have no limits, and I can't complain about it.
- However, this book especially felt like a lovely, cozy read. It didn't have many twists, but it was definitely the kind of book you want to have in your hands when you just want to relax. Fun fact: I've never been a big fan of pancakes, but I had a constant craving for them while reading this. Even more interesting, I actually discovered some new recipes that I plan to try out soon, lol.
- I've managed to stay away from The Housemaid series, which is more popular because I wanted to read some of the other books of Freida before jumping in this series, and The Boyfriend came as the 2nd read from this author that even if it's a good read with plenty of unexpected twists, I found the previous book I've read from Freida better than this one. I am not sure if it's a good thing or not to compare various books of the same author, but the thing that I managed to figure out some of the things that were going on, made me want to finish it faster, so I can move on to a different book.
- Nevertheless it's been a very interesting read that I enjoyed from start to finish, but as a person who's career was heavily affected by AI, I was hoping to get more directions on how to use AI further, especially when it comes to prompts which are always making a difference between two people looking for the same help, but requesting it in different ways.
