- As a person who was literally looking forward to finish with this trilogy and almost forget about it right away, I had as little expectations as possible since both of the first two titles were a crap. However, as soon as I finished reading Scythe & Sparrow I figured out that all my efforts reading this series, as well as the time spent doing it, were finally rewarded in one way or another since the 3rd volume wasn't that bad.
- I could, actually, call this my best read from the series so far, as I felt the story more real and intense than that of the other two protagonists. However, what made me have one star less in my rating than the maximum of 5, was simply decided by the eroticism of the book, which I usualy don't have a problem with since I read a lot of Dark Romance books, but what made it so disturbing were all the details and scenes that simply felt very repetitve with those between Morana and Tristan. Which is at least weird, since we are speaking about two completely different characters.
- I picked Feline Philosophy: Cats and the Meaning of Life as a person who loves cats, and ever since I became a cat mom, I read pretty much anything cat-related with the hope that I get to understand better cats' needs and the way they communicate with people. However, this book was a bit different from what I've read in this area before because it's more like a comparison between a human life vs. a cat life, that despite having lots of things in common, we still fail terribly when it comes to enjoying life, which is never a problem for cats in general.
- In the first book, entitled The Predator, the main action is focused on two protagonists coming from different families who are dealing in the mafia world, but despite sharing similar lifestyles, they will soon prove they are yet so different. I won't lie, I am a big fan when it comes to mafia stories, whether they are shared through books, movies or video games. However, this story continued a bit too boring for my taste. I do appreciate when there are many details shared as it makes me have a better overview, but I felt this as a "bit too much" at times.
- First, the book begins with a really interesting case study from a man who was a prisoner in Auschwitz, where it's perhaps one of the few places in this world where you can't really have hope anymore. Anyway, it was sad to see this end up pretty quickly and have the rest of the books based on various other case studies that I couldn't feel as deeply in my heart as I felt the first one. I also felt like some of the ideas were constantly repeated unnecessarily, which could make the read get a bit boring, but just like the other books written by Mark Manson Everything Is F#cked was an easy read
- Interesting twists turned the second volume into a real challenge to put the book down.

- The first book I finished from the series was a good one, although it turned out a bit difficult to understand some aspects because of all the specific terms and information, but it mainly consisted of presenting two crime cases, which, as you might expect, only got more complicated with each page turned. Hence, with all the challenges and unexpected twists, I was happy to finally read something where the plot twists were hard to figure out before, and I can't wait to read more of this, although it required a break from this genre of books for the rest of the month.
- Of course, there are plenty of suggestions mainly based on the connection of a married couple, especially when it comes to a baby, but many aspects can be adapted to everyone's life, no matter whether she/he is married or not, or if they have a baby or not. There are even some questionnaires at the end of the book that might come quite handy. In conclusion, I really liked this one, and the author did a great job sharing plenty of priceless information in a quick and easy to understand way. Might as well give a chance to a few more books from Willard F. Harley Jr..
- Probably, if you are reading for the first time something like this, you'll find it a very good and unexpected book... However, I think I can call myself a professional when it comes to reading Freida's books, and that's why I can say this wasn't the best time I had while reading a book from her. But this is not going to end my journey with her writings by any chance. I actually look forward to reading another book from her!
- This was actually a book I had high expectations for, and I even bought it blind, without reading the synopsis or a sample, because I never imagined I wouldn't enjoy it after seeing it all over BookTok. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a difficult read, very historical and quite different from what I usually gravitate toward (even though I don't stick to a specific genre). While history is essential for preserving what countries and their people have lived through, in this case, it felt more like a sad tale with too many twists, making the characters harder to connect with.
- Despite being a book that somehow stays away from becoming repetitive (which I really appreciate), I felt that the introduction was way too long this time, almost forgetting I'm reading one of Freida's gems, where I even estimated some of the things about to happen. Even if things took some crazy turns as the author got us used to, it felt like the weakest book out of the series, and also out of what I've read from Freida so far.
- First, there are plenty of disturbing details, from explicit content when it comes to crimes, to a lot of p0rn that might feel overwhelming even for some of the most experienced readers. But what bothered me the most, actually, was that there was no story twist I couldn't guess. This turned the whole journey into a very long and boring read, making me feel like I already knew what was going to happen next. Not to mention that I ended up spending a lot more time reading it than planned, as I am not the kind of person to read more books at the same time, so it sort of kept me in the same place.
- Although I am a lot into Freida's writings lately, this one felt like the weakest book from her. There are still unexpected plot twists and an ending that is far from being guessed by anyone reading the book, but there were some parts that didn't fully catch my attention, as well as made me anticipate some of the upcoming situations, which is a thing not so common for Freida's writings. But even so, I think it was worth being read, although it's not one of my favourites.
- The book is mainly centered about a death scene where 3 siblings get their contribution in one way or another, but the real mystery is when things turn out not to be as they seem. It actually quite remembered me of Home Is Where the Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose, which I absolutely loved and wrote a review about it in this post. So, perhaps, being a bit similar, it made me compare the two from time to time. The thing that I also figured out the plot twist quite early in the story, also contributed to making me rate it currently with 3 stars only.
- It's not a secret anymore that Morana and Tristan will remain my favourite protagonists from this series of books, so any other protagonists that are brought into the spotlight make me compare them with the love between Tristan and Morana. I was happy, though, to get to know Alpha more closely than what was shared in the previous book, but to be honest, I don't think he deserved a whole book just for his story, especially since it was mainly focused on the love story between him and Zephyr, barely remembering Tristan and Morana or Dante and Amara.
- The book got me a little déjà vu with Don't Lie from the same author, but while I loved that book, this turned out quite the opposite. I don't even know what bothers me the most between lots of predictable twists or the lack of unexpected and crazy events taking place in the last hundred pages as the author got me used to, but either way, this book is my least enjoyed read from Freida.
- Back to the 2nd book of The Ruinous Love series, which is also where the name of the trilogy comes from, it actually turned out very similar to the 1st title of the series. From very alike events to the same predictable plot twists of the story, a lot of smut and disturbing details, the single aspect that felt different but still didn't bring any bonus to the overall book was the controversial aspect of religion, which I'm sure won't be understood by a lot of people. So yeah, not very happy with this read either, but ready to finish the series by reading the last volume as well.
- Credence is a book that I've been chasing to find online for so long, after being the first ever book for which I activated an alert to be notified when it's released. Pretty crazy, huh? The thing is, it's not my first time reading a book from this author, and although I can't say her writings are the best, they usually represent something very chill and interesting to read when in that mood. However, "Credence" turned out to be a very disturbing and controversial writing, turning it into the spiciest reading I've ever had. And trust me, I'm reading a lot of dark romance and erotic books.
- I haven’t had a reading experience like this in a very long time—and unfortunately, not in a good way. The story started off quite interesting, especially since I’m a fan of books and movies centered around time travel. Sadly, it quickly became extremely hard to follow and, for the most part, quite boring. An overwhelming amount of detail—much of it feeling unnecessary—combined with multiple names used for the same protagonists turned the story into something increasingly chaotic. At several points, it felt more confusing than intriguing.
- I started to log my Goodreads data. I like to rediscover my favourite readings like this one. Javier Sierra is amazing, a great storyteller and writer.
