Recuerdo leer o escuchar que el principal objetivo del cine es entretener, ahora bien, igual hay algún tipo de responsabilidad en esto y si bien es cierto que como en todo ámbito existen películas, que no dejan ningún tipo de enseñanza, hay algunas que nos llevan a reflexionar, llorar, en fin, nos inspiran hasta el punto de lograr que tomemos acción en algunos aspectos.

He visto muchas películas que me inspiran, así que elegir una para esta participación, fue un poco difícil, ya que existen películas que mueven nuestra fibra y nos muestran en ocasiones hechos de la vida real verdaderamente conmovedores y otras que aunque no están basadas en hechos de la vida real, nos llevan a reflexionar mostrando una realidad presente o ya sucedida.

Por todo lo anterior, para esta publicación elegí la película titulada en ingles The Help, en España, Criadas y señoras; en Latinoamérica, Historias cruzadas, esta película basada en una novela de la autora Kathryn Stockett, que causó gran controversia y hasta una demanda, narra lo que se presume era la vida de las criadas afrodescendientes en los estados del sur, en los años en los años 60, es decir, en pleno auge el movimiento por los derechos civiles en EEUU.

Así mismo, todos conocemos por documentales, lo dura que fue esta lucha, la cual desde mis punto de vista no ha terminado, ya que una vez finalizada la guerra de secesión los esclavos obtuvieron libertad, pero no tenían derecho o acceso a muchas cosas, la segregación y racismo continuaron vivos por muchos años, así las personas de color en los estados del sur, estaban destinados a ser servidumbre, jardineros y a otras actividades similares, además de otra serie de situaciones.

Esta película nos muestra cómo se puede salir del molde de los estándares preestablecidos y tener aspiraciones diferentes a las que se esperan, así en esta película narra como una joven recién graduada de la universidad, se decide a mostrar una realidad que todos sabían existía, pero nadie se atrevía a hacer pública, narrando la vida de muchas de las criadas y de como eran maltratadas y explotadas por muchos de sus empleadores.

Ahora bien, que me inspiro esta película, pues es algo simple, aunque a veces lo olvidamos, todos somos mercaderes de respeto sin distingo de ninguna clase, muchas veces vemos gente de escasos recursos o de color en la calle y sin saber o conocer mas de ellos automáticamente los etiquetamos, como ladrones, mal educados o que solo pueden ejercer ciertas labores y a veces hasta de poco inteligentes.

Por otra parte, esta película que nos muestra que ser diferente no es malo y no hablo solamente de las mujeres afrodescendientes marginadas, que resultaron ser conocedoras de muchas cosas y estar llenas de sabiduría y sentimiento, hablo de la autora del libro o de como la presentan en la película, ella quería algo más, algo diferente para ella, ya que en su pueblo natal no encajaba, pero no dejo de luchar por lo que quería y al final debe moverse de donde esta para lograr lo que desea, eso me recuerda una frase que leí: “Si no te gusta donde estás, ¡muévete! no eres un árbol”, muchas veces le tenemos temor al cambio y no queremos dejar nuestra zona de confort por mas incómodo y limitante que pueda ser, así que hay que atreverse a dar ese primer paso y continuar, es mejor intentar y fracasar a quedarse con la duda de ¿Qué hubiera pasado si lo hubiera intentado?

Finalmente, esta película se las recomiendo ya que sé se sentirán identificados con algunos personajes y sus vivencias, así como también sé podrán no simpatizar con personajes verdaderamente detestables y estoy segura de que si no la has visto te gustara y si la viste seguro tendrás algo para comentar, antes de retirarme deseo invitar a participar a @garybilbao y @tarot911, para quienes desean conocen más de este concurso por aquí les dejo la publicación con toda la información , así me despido deseando que sus vidas están llenas de inspiración en todo momento.

I remember reading or hearing that the main objective of cinema is to entertain, now well, there is still some kind of responsibility in this and while it is true that as in any field there are films that do not leave any kind of teaching, there are some that lead us to reflect, cry, in short, inspire us to the point of getting us to take action in some aspects.

I have seen many movies that inspire me, so choosing one for this participation was a little difficult, since there are movies that move our fiber and sometimes show us truly moving real life events and others that although they are not based on real life events, lead us to reflect showing a present reality or one that has already happened.

For all of the above, for this publication I chose the film entitled in English The Help, in Spain, Criadas y señoras; in Latin America, Historias cruzadas, this film based on a novel by author Kathryn Stockett, which caused great controversy and even a lawsuit, narrates what is presumed was the life of African descendant maids in the southern states, in the years in the 60's, that is, at the height of the civil rights movement in the USA.

Likewise, we all know from documentaries, how hard this struggle was, which from my point of view has not ended, because once the Civil War ended the slaves obtained freedom, but they had no right or access to many things, segregation and racism continued alive for many years, so people of color in the southern states, were destined to be servants, gardeners and other similar activities, in addition to other situations.

This film shows us how you can break out of the mold of pre-established standards and have different aspirations to those expected, so in this film tells how a young recent college graduate, decides to show a reality that everyone knew existed, but no one dared to make public, narrating the lives of many of the maids and how they were mistreated and exploited by many of their employers.

Now, what inspired me this film, well it is something simple, although sometimes we forget it, we are all merchants of respect without distinction of any kind, many times we see people of scarce resources or color in the street and without knowing or knowing more about them we automatically label them as thieves, poorly educated or that can only perform certain jobs and sometimes even unintelligent.

On the other hand, this movie that shows us that being different is not bad and I am not talking only about the marginalized afrodescendant women, who turned out to be knowledgeable about many things and to be full of wisdom and feeling, I am talking about the author of the book or how she is presented in the movie, she wanted something else, something different for her, since in her hometown she did not fit, but she did not stop fighting for what she wanted and in the end she must move from where she is to achieve what she wants, that reminds me of a phrase I read: "If you don't like where you are, move! You are not a tree", many times we are afraid of change and do not want to leave our comfort zone as uncomfortable and limiting as it may be, so you have to dare to take that first step and continue, it is better to try and fail than to stay with the doubt of what would have happened if you had tried?
