My Take on Colony

Review by @afrikens 🏆#121 🎵5 🎬5 · 7h · of Colony

I was tensed! I was full of shock! Seriously I had to close the movie last night so that it doesn't terrorize and infect my dreams. Probably because I am more of action movies and I'm not really a fan of horror movies but doesn't mean I don't watch them.

Colony is one of the movies to watch if you're really into action and horror movies and I love how it kind of established the fact that for every virus out in the human space, there is a release from a researcher somewhere and as long as it is released to terrorize the world then he or she must take responsibility for the consequences.

Colony is a suspense and action Korean movie about a young researcher named Suh Young Chu who spent so many years making research on correcting what led to the death of his father which he tagged as "imperfect communication". He believed that with his new experiment, he can securely make everyone connect with one mind with no misunderstanding but this is at the expense of infecting every human with his experimented virus of which he only has the vaccine to cure.

Colony is also an emotional movie, that shows humanity and family bond. The point where Ku Seong who was supposed to travel out with his wife and kids got stuck with his ex wife, Professor Kwon Se-Jeong, had to save a bullying student from the infected people but eventually, he got bitten and couldn't make it while the student was saved.

Also the part where Hyun Seok had to save his crippled sister after she voluntarily released her wheel chair to save people from the infected. Everything was still under control until Suh learned about where she is and directed the infected people to eat on her. Even at that Hyun Seok still made attempt to save his sister but unfortunately the sister gave up on herself but still end up being the doom of Hyun Seok as he remain determined to revenge the death of his sister.

The movie simply portray the fact that government will always be the same as they may never put the citizens first in their decisions except for what they would gain. When you're a tool for government to get what they want, then you might still end up being a sacrificial lamb. It also portray the fact that truly we may get offended but revenge is never the solution and that is why Suh ended up getting buried in the pit he dug for others.

I would recommend you see Colony if you're yet to see it and if you're not a fan of horror movies, then you can slide away from it.

I'll be dropping my 🖊️ here on the review on Colony movie.

Thanks for reading through 🤗
