Hello everyone! I hope all of you has a nice day right now. Today, I want to share my review on Insidious third movie that was released in 2015.
The movie plot was set three years before Elise meet the Lambert family in the previous two movies. It starts with a grief stricken teenage girl Quinn meeting Elise for the purpose to try and contact her mother who passed away a year ago.
When Elise tried to contact her mother, Elise immediately stopped because she felt a dark entity and warned Quinn not to try and contact her mother again.
The first jump scare that gave me a sudden fright was when Quinn saw a creepy figure waving at her afar before a car rammed into her without warning, leaving her neck and legs injured.
That's when the nightmare started in her home. She would see that masked old man in her room haunting her. There's also a jump scare where she looked under her bed and then something grabbed her from above!
It's gotten so bad that her father called Elise to help them. At first Elise declined beause during this time, ELise was grieving her husband who passed away. And her fear of traveling the Further and encountering "The Black Bride", or we call him Parker Crane who threatened Elise that if she goes into the Further again, he will k!ll her. And if you watched the first movie, Parker successfully k!illed Elise at the end of the movie. That scene still gives me the creeps!
And the highlight of the movie was when Quinn got possessed by that man with the mask. Must be because Quinn's soul was already out of her body. That scene where she cracked her own leg cast and taking off her neck brace! That scene was insane.
Elise helped them. She went to the Further to get Quinn's spirit back. But it was a fight that Quinn has to do on her own. And someone helped her defeat it. Can you guess who? I won't tell!
Overall, Elise is great at her role especially Specs and Tucker (Elise' future sidekicks lol). And Quinn? I can't forget the scene where she was possessed! The jump scares were there but if we were to compare it to the first and second movie, it's on 8/10 because the first and second were on 10/10.
But I gotta say, this movie was more on the emotional dept. The human emotion of grief on how it can affect us and what we would do to find some closure for the people who left us. Just like Quinn, in search to communicate to her mother who passed away, she accidentally opened the door to Further.
And I'm also interested that Parker Crane (the black bride) already held a grudge to Elise for ruining his plans in trying to possess a young Josh which was shown in Insidious 2. And since Parker failed, he was just waiting for the right time for Josh to travel the Further again which was what happened in Insidious 1 at the end scene where Parker successfully k!lled Elise by possessing Josh's body while Josh's spirit remained trapped. And I just love how these movies connects with the movies!
It is a good horror movie. And I almost forgot, in the end scene of Insidious 3, Elise saw the red face demon on her room giving us a clue that she's about to enter the Lambert's lives which is the first movie.
