MOVIE REVIEW: 'The Silence of the Lambs' - 1991

It is an American film of suspense, drama and terror, directed by Jonathan Demme and starring Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Ted Levine and Scott Glenn.

Synopsis:

Feature film based on the book of the same name, where FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) seeks out the dangerous serial Killer and is ordered to find a murderer who rips off the skin of her victims. She then seeks out the perilous psychopath, Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), jailed on charges of cannibalism to understand how a psychopath's brain works and to profile it.

It all starts when five women are brutally murdered in different parts of the United States. And the mission of an ambitious FBI trainee Clarice Starling who is recruiting to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter, an incarcerated cannibal and ex-psychiatrist, in order to gain insight and build the psychological profile of the psychopath who acted similarly to a active serial killer.

The perfect performance of Judie Foster, and especially Anthony Hopkins, the then character (Hannibal Lecter), who created a fantastic dimension for Hannibal's operating mode, makes his intellectual side more evident than his psychopathic side, which is more prominent in the books. , although the fine line between the two hannibal is almost impossible to distinguish without a deep analysis, so the drama of the whole film follows with an impeccable script, along with the development of the story, leaving the suspended to give the true terror of the story, between a clarice's romance with hannibal which makes this film a cinematographic work with its own personality.

In the film you can see the coldness and cruelty that are the best ways to define the stories of the author Thomas Harris. They are psychopaths unbalanced to the point that criminal acts go beyond the simple execution of victims to become games of torture without limits, the crimes here are so sick that a mind as sick as can be the help that the police need to reach the guilty.
