I've always found Patrick Dempsey's rom-con's to be very light hearted and great for a good time, this movie has a "Friends to lovers" premise with a little twist and I think that has made it a classic, especially if you're about to get married hahaha!

Tom, a playboy, met Hannah (Michelle Monaghan) in college by getting into her bed the wrong way and from there they have been best friends, she always advises him to get his head on straight and open his heart to love, but for him spending Sundays with her is enough. For work reasons she has to travel to Ireland and returns to New York engaged, and asks him to be her maid of honor, that's where the task of stealing the bride begins.

I must start by pointing out that this movie has a huge cast that makes everything hilarious, on the one hand we have the bridal party who has actresses like Busy Phillips and Whitney Cummings and on the other hand we have the group of Tom's male friends, with Kadeem Harditon, Richmond Arquette among others, then we have a dichotomy of opinions that give a lot of spice to the story. Another thing that is also very comical is to see Tom jealous, to see how his attempts to win Hannah's heart don't work and that this frustrates him is ironic, at a certain point we jocularly think that he deserves it🥹😂.

It is also remarkable of this story that the actors have a lot of chemistry, I think it is one of Patrick's stories where he has more chemistry with the protagonist, each scene of them is very tender. In addition to this, we have some spectacular scenery that serve as scenery for the romance because as I mentioned the story takes place between New York and the Highlands, since Colin (Kevin McKidd) is from an Irish family that is noble and rich. For this reason, we also see a series of pre-nuptial "traditions" from the region that contribute to the story. The icing on the cake comes at the moment of the denouement, our hero makes a wonderful triumphal entrance, somewhat cartoonish on horseback, but which turns out to be effective.

It also has an interesting message, sometimes we refuse to recognize love out of fear, missing out on wonderful things, we have to leave our fears aside and jump into the water, chances are things will turn out well. This movie is far from perfect, it has production problems that are notorious to those who are connoisseurs of cinema but it is a very entertaining movie, really from the beginning to the end you keep you waiting for what will happen next and it is full of tender moments between our protagonists. I recommend watching it I give it a 3.5/5.

Las rom-con de Patrick Dempsey siempre me han parecido muy ligeras y excelentes para pasar un rato ameno, está película tiene una premisa de "Friends to lovers" con un pequeño giro y creo que eso la ha hecho un clásico, especialmente si estás por casarte jajaja!

Tom, un playboy, conoció a Hannah (Michelle Monaghan) en la universidad al meterse en su cama de manera errada y desde allí han sido mejores amigos, ella siempre le aconseja que busque centar cabeza y que abra su corazon al amor, pero para el pasar los domingos con ella es suficiente. Por cuestiones de trabajo ella debe viajar Irlanda y regresa a Nueva York comprometida, y le pide a este que sea su dama de honor, allí es donde empieza la tarea de robarse a la novia.

Debo empezar por destacar que esta peli tiene un elenco enorme que hace que todo sea divertidísimo, por un lado tenemos el cortejo nupcial quien cuenta con actrices como Busy Phillips y Whitney Cummings y por el otro tenemos al grupo de amigos hombres de Tom, con Kadeem Harditon, Richmond Arquette entre otros, entonces tenemos una dicotomía de opiniones que le dan mucha sazon a la historia. Otra cosa que también es muy cómico es ver a Tom celoso, ver como sus intentos de ganar el corazón de Hannah no funcionan y que esto lo frustre es irónico, en cierto punto pensamos jocosamente que se lo merece🥹😂.

También es destacable de esta historia que los actores tienen muchísima química, creo que es una de las historias de Patrick donde mas tiene química con la protagonista, cada escena de ellos es muy tierna. Aunado a esto, tenemos unos paisajes espectaculares que fungen de escenografía para el romance pues como ya les mencioné la historia se desarrolla entre Nueva York y las Tierras Altas, ya que Colín (Kevin McKidd) es de una familia irlandesa que es noble y rica. Por esto mismo tambien vemos una serie de "tradiciones" pre-nupciales propias de la región que contribuyen a la historia. La cereza del pastel viene dada por el momento del desenlace, nuestro héroe hace una maravillosa entrada triunfal, un tanto caricaturesca a caballo, pero que resulta siendo efectiva.

También tiene un mensaje interesante, a veces nos negamos a reconocer el amor por miedo, perdiendonos cosas maravillosas, tenemos que dejar los miedos de lado y lanzarnos al agua, lo más probable es que las cosas salgan bien. Esta película esta lejos de ser perfecta, tiene problemas de producción que son notorios a quienes son conocedores del cine pero es una película muy entretenida, realmente desde que comienza hasta que se acaba te mantienes pendiente de que será lo próximo que va a ocurrir y está colmada de momentos tiernos entre nuestros protagonistas. Recomiendo verla le doy un 3.5/5
