One of the things that bothers me the most when I see a movie is that they raise expectations around something that we never end up seeing in the movie, what I mean is that when I first saw the trailer of All the Money in the World I immediately thought it was going to be a total hit, it had everything to succeed, an interesting plot, a good director and especially the master of intrigues and political conspiracies (in house of cards) Kevin Spacey, however shortly before its release the film underwent changes and the entire shooting of Kevin Spacey was replaced by another actor, and oh GOD! what a serious mistake having been led by a personal "scandal" to bring out your best actor, the man who was responsible for raising interest in this film in the first place, in short, a bad decision.

Returning to the plot, the film shows how was the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III an innocent young man who did not even have a clear and constant relationship with his grandfather, a young man who was a victim of circumstances and above all the ambition of his grandfather.

The story is mainly divided into three parts; the kidnapping, the search and the rescue. We don't see much of any of the three parts but essentially the story focuses on showing us parts of what the young John Paul Getty III experienced while in the hands of inexperienced criminals who used an intermediary to negotiate the money, kidnappers who despite making hundreds of mistakes were never caught. But in reality the strongest focal point of this film is the constant drama that a mother had to live through to try to save her son, because yes, here we don't see the richest man in the world struggling to rescue his grandson, here we see a man who walks away from the situation and that was never willing to pay the ransom. The focus of the story as I told you is the constant struggle and despair that a mother had to go through in the days that her son was kidnapped, a woman who endured humiliation and abuse to save her son, a woman who was even manipulated to let everything pass and move forward, but in the end a woman who did not surrender until her son was recovered.

Another notable negative point in this film is undoubtedly its script and above all the rhythm they chose to give the film, because it constantly makes us think that the story is strange (and not in the good sense) by the abrupt way in which the events unfold; In one scene the young man is about to die and in the next scene out of nowhere he is drinking a beer and eating with his captor, that is to say the empty plot in the scenes is very noticeable, scenes that do not manage to transmit that suspense and that drama that a kidnapping film should have, it is absurd to build a drama story around a soft atmosphere, if the plot does not follow the same path as the tone of the performances hardly anything good can stand out.
