Black Panther (2018) - Movie Review

Review by @apkdl · 3086d · of Black Panther · 2 views

"Black  Panther begins with T'Challa becoming the king of Wakanda after the  death of his father during the Civil War, but when threatening an enemy  T'Challa named Killmonger and his kingdom, great problems arise and  T'Challa defeats Killmonger and the Wakanda people have to do their best for the future. "

I was very excited about Black Panther because this movie was directed by Ryan Coogler, rather than a new superhero, Filmin. I  was wondering what Coogler would do with Cooper's film shooter  Fruitvale Station and Coogler's work with such a gigantic budgeted  superhero movie after the much better Creed film. In this respect, the film did not make a lot of money because Black Panther was a Ryan Coogler film.

What I liked most about this movie was that Marvel was not going to go and do another "superhero movie." Yes, in this movie there were cool visual effects and fun action scenes you could see in Marvel films. But Black Panther never makes his story come to the forefront for this purpose. In fact, there is an important message that this film is trying to give. So,  when the movie was over, the things I had in mind were not the action  scenes and cool visuals, but the way the characters in the film traveled  and everything connected in the final.

Normally there are 2 things in Marvel films that are always weak; bad guy and music. But in Black Panther these two factors were great. Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger was the best villain I ever saw in the Marvel universe after Loki. Because Killmonger could easily be a two-dimensional, no-purpose villain like Malekith in Thor: The Dark World. But in this film they presented Killmonger a wonderful past that you can empathize with. So  when Killmonger threatens T'Challa in the film and explains its  purpose, you understand why he came from and did what he did. Despite being a bad guy, Killmonger had a great motivation.

And Black Panther probably had Marvel's most memorable music. The  film is transitioning from original compositions of Kendrick Lamar to  music in different genres and makes the scenes even smoother. From time to time, despite the unfavorable use of music, I absolutely fainted the song on the film.

Apart  from that, what Ryan Coogler accomplished in this filmin chair was  really impressive, especially to reflect the spirit of Wakanda. From the contents of Wakanda to the mythology and the costumes of the  people there, the things that are done in this room throughout the film  succeed in attracting your attention.

Acting was much better than I expected; Chadwick Boseman, whose performance in the Civil War is a bit dull, has signed a cool and cool Black Panther in this film. It was very enjoyable watching his character. Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya and Andy Serkis also added air to this film.

But Black Panther is not perfect, there are some problems I would like to mention about the movie. First of all, I can not say I like CGI much. Nothing in this film was realistic, except there were some cool visual effects on Filmin's fun action scenes. During the film, I looked at the giant green screen or the animations of a computer. Moreover, it seems inconceivable that this filmin budget is $ 200 million. For example, Blade Runner 2049's visual effects were perfect, and that  movie had a budget of $ 50 million less than Black Panther.

And I can not tell you that Filmin is a big fan of the first half. The  entire second half of Filmin is in Wakanda, and although everything in  this episode feels unique in the end, it was no different from a  first-half known superhero movie. Here  the story introduces us to new characters and the atmosphere we have  never seen before, and chooses the easiest way to do it. Also, after seeing Killmonger here on screen for the first time, the character disappears for 50 minutes from the film. It was not so intriguing with what happened with Andy Serkis' other bad guy at the time. In fact, it could easily be removed from the film for 20 minutes.

Actually, I did not like the movie, as I hated it here. There  are so many things that I find so good in Black Panther despite the bad  aspects that I have noticed, so I had a great time watching the movie. Wakanda's  atmosphere and mythology were very interesting and I admired Ryan  Coogler for making a superhero film that was not like Marvel's other  works. If you are going to watch this film just for  watching great visual effects and cool action scenes, you might be a bit  disappointed, but if you are looking for a good message and an  immersive movie with the characters you can stand behind, Black Panther  is the right address for you. If you drop your anticipation and just expect more from a superhero movie, you will not regret the film. Enjoyable.
