Star wars the clone wars Animated Show

Review by @avataraang1 🏆#74 🔥2 🎵83 🎬3 📺1 · 1d · of Star Wars: Clone Wars

I dont even remember how i got t start watching this show and i think it was the very first star wars.... anything that id ever watched and it was so good, at the time that i watched it i knew nothing of the star wars story. I didn’t know what was going to happen after the clone wars or what happened before it. So imagine my surprise when Anakin Skywalker after the ending of the show ended up the way he did. I didn't expect an animated Star Wars show to pull me in the way this one did.

Now that i am more immersed in the star wars franchise i know that the show takes place between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, during the massive war between the Galactic Republic and the Separatists. We follow familiar characters like Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, but the biggest surprise for me was Ahsoka , Anakin's young Padawan. When I first saw Ahsoka, I honestly wasn't sure how I was going to feel about her. She was young, energetic, constantly talking and had this confidence that sometimes made me think, “Okay, calm down.” 😂 but as the series continued, she became one of the characters I cared about the most. What I really liked about The Clone Wars is that it gives the Clone Wars itself much more meaning. In the movies, the war sometimes feels like something happening in the background while the bigger story focuses on Anakin, Obi-Wan and the Jedi. Here, we actually get to see the soldiers fighting it and the battles are sooo soo soo good, incredibly brilliant, gosh i want to re-watch it again.

The clones aren't just faceless soldiers anymore, characters like Captain Rex, Cody and Fives gradually become people with their own personalities and importance. You start realizing that these soldiers are basically being created, trained and sent into battle repeatedly because someone decided that they were necessary for a war. Some episodes are genuinely funny, especially when Anakin and Obi-Wan are together, but then the show can suddenly turn around and give you an episode that leaves you bewildered. That contrast is one of the things I enjoyed most about the series. One of my favourite things about the show is how it expands the Star Wars universe beyond the Jedi and Sith. You get political stories, criminal organizations, bounty hunters, different planets, alien cultures and ordinary people who are simply trying to survive while two massive forces are fighting a war around them and you kinda understand why the animated show lasted over seven seasons.

Mandalore was another storyline that really caught my attention. The politics surrounding the planet, the different factions and characters like Bo-Katan made me realize how much The Clone Wars was building the larger Star Wars universe. Some of these stories eventually became important to other Star Wars shows and movies, which makes watching the series feel like you're discovering pieces of a much bigger puzzle. Their are episodes of course that feel like filler, and because it's an anthology-style series, the quality and tone can sometimes change dramatically from one storyline to another. You might watch something hilarious and then suddenly find yourself watching an incredibly dark story a few episodes later. Some arcs are also much more interesting than others.

The Clone Wars also completely changed the way I look at Anakin Skywalker, after i got to know what he’d eventually turn to. The movies show us that he eventually becomes Darth Vader, so we already know where his story is heading, for those that know about the whole franchise but seeing him as a Jedi Knight, a teacher to Ahsoka and a leader to the clones makes his eventual fall feel even more tragic. You get to see the qualities that made people love Anakin, but you also see the impatience, anger and attachment that eventually consume him. For me Star Wars The Clone Wars even though it s an animated show, is for me the best piece of entertainment out of the whole franchise instalments started for me as an animated Star Wars series, but it ended up feeling like an important part of the Star Wars story.

If you're a Star Wars fan who hasn't watched The Clone Wars, I'd definitely recommend giving it a chance and if you are just watching for entertainment away from the franchise, you dont need to watch the entire franchise instalments prior to the clone wars to get what is happening. Youll definitely enjoy it
