This review will feature only events of the latest season of Anime series titled Castlevania. It was released earlier this year and is available to stream on Netflix.
I've been an anime fan for as long as I can remember. There's something about the Japanese theme styled drawings that really hold my attention.
Castlevania featured some top notch graphics and some very intense fight scenes that will have you rewind the scene to see it well.
The series follows the adventures of Belmont, Syphi and Alucard. Belmont is a monster Hunter, Syphi a magician and Belmont's wife. Alucard is a vampire-human hybrid, and the son of Dracula, who he previously killed in season 2.
In this latest season, the team encountered various foes who were hell bent(literally) on bringing Dracula out of hell and into the land of the living.
The series involved some bloody and Gore fight scenes, so I don't advise you watch it with kids. It also has strong language and while.being badass, you won't want to expose your kid to.
In the next paragraph, I'll be posting a spoiler, so don't continue if you're not ready for it.
The unlikely villain of this season turned out to be saint German, the harmless astrologer, alchemist and many things in between. His quest to get laid and I'm not joking about this, could have led to the end of the world.
Luckily, for him and the world, things didn't actually go as planned.
Other than this part, there was also a weird situation with Isaac, one of Dracula's forgemaster. After being overcome by rage, he discovered a new path and focused on building.
This his path led him to locate Camilla's castle and beat the shit out of her. The four women leaders were disbanded in the process, with the lesbian lovers going their way and the diplomatic Lenroe staying back but unharmed.
In terms of storyline, there was some level of confuckulation and for the most part, you'd be wondering how it all fits together. By the time you get to the last three episodes, it all starts to make sense and by then you'll be too hooked on the epic fight scenes to even care about the storyline.
To properly appreciate this season, you need to have seen the first three. However, as a stand alone spectacle, it is pretty awesome and I encourage you to watch it.
