Hello, people of the internet! Today I'm here to tell you about my guilty pleasure "Bring it on". Like all teen movies, this saga is super stupid, full of clichés, and why use euphemisms? It's even embarrassing, but for some strange reason I like it, maybe it's because of the incredible routines and choreographies of the American cheerleaders (at least the cheerleaders here are not that good to tell the truth) but anyway. As the movie is not good, I'm not going to talk about it as detailed as I usually do, I'll just give a general idea of what I like and what I don't like (because if I talk in detail as I always do I would never finish 😁).
¡Hola, gente de internet! Hoy vengo a hablarles de mi gusto culposo "Triunfos robados". Como toda película de adolescentes, esta saga es super estúpida, llena de clichés, y es que en verdad ¿para que usar eufemismos? Da hasta vergüenza ajena, pero por algún motivo extraño me gusta, quizá sea por las increíbles rutinas y coreografías de los porristas estadounidenses (al menos los porristas de aquí no son tan buenos a decir verdad) pero en fin. Como la película no es buena, no voy a desglosarla como usualmente hago, simplemente daré una idea general de que me gusta y que no (es que si desgloso como siempre hago no terminaría nunca 😁)
One thing is clear, and that is that each of the films of this saga nowadays would be very wrong, because they are full of black humor dialogues and many others racist, normalization of bullying or even making it look like something funny, there are also stereotypes... anyway, but it was common in the late 90's and early 2000's, but I will not make a drama for this, however I wanted to point it out because when watching the films again, these parts are shocking, although the films are at least entertaining.
Algo esta claro, y es que cada una de las películas de esta saga hoy en día serían muy poco correctas, porque están llenas de diálogos de humor negro y muchos otros racistas, normalización del acoso o incluso haciéndolo ver como algo gracioso, también hay estereotipos... en fin, pero era algo común de finales de los 90's e inicio de los 2000, pero no me pondré a hacer un drama por esto, sin embargo quería señalarlo porque al volver a ver las películas, estas partes resultan chocantes, aunque las películas al menos son entretenidas.
The story follows Torrence, a girl who has become captain of her senior cheerleading squad, and is nervous about filling the shoes of the previous captain nicknamed "Big Red" (because she has red hair) but on her first day as captain, Torrence forces her teammates to do a very difficult stunt, injuring one of the members, and so they have to hold auditions to find a new member.
La historia sigue a Torrence, una chica que se ha vuelto la capitana de su equipo de porristas en su último año, y está nerviosa porque debe llenar los zapatos de la anterior capitana, apodada Big Red (ya que es pelirroja) pero en su primer día de capitana, Torrence les obliga a sus compañeros a hacer una pirueta muy difícil, lesionando a una de las integrantes, y es por eso que tienen que hacer audiciones para hallar una nueva integrante.
At the first practice, the new girl gets angry and tells Torrence that the routines they are doing are stolen, and that another team from another area where the Clovers used to live own those routines, even taking her to check it out. Torrence realizes that the last few cheerleading championships they have won have been a scam, and she feels disappointed in "Big Red" who was the one who stole the routines. Knowing this, Torrence must find a way to get her team to win without stealing choreography, and this is what the film is based on.
En la primera práctica, la chica nueva se enfada y le dice a Torrence que las rutinas que están haciendo son robadas, y que otro equipo de otra zona donde antes vivía los Clovers son los dueños de esas rutinas, incluso la lleva a comprobarlo. Torrence se da cuenta de que los últimos campeonatos de animadores que han ganado han sido una estafa, y se siente decepcionada de "Big Red" que fue quien robó las rutinas. Sabiendo esto, Torrence debe ver la forma de conseguir el triunfo de su equipo sin robar coreografías, y en esto se basa la película.
Far from the story being entertaining, I don't see how else the film could stand out. The cinematography is normal, the performances are good but they are nothing special, the soundtrack is also normal... What I could highlight about this film is that at first it did not fall into the typical cliché of rivalries (which is not bad but in the rest of the films it is present) also the message of "hard work is better" I quite liked and the truth is a good message.
Lejos de que la historia es entretenida, no veo en que más podría destacar la película. La fotografía es normal, las actuaciones sí son buenas pero no son nada del otro mundo, el sountrack también es normal... Lo que sí podría destacar de esta película es que al principio no cayera en el típico cliché de las rivalidades (que no está mal pero en el resto de las películas está presente) además el mensaje de "es mejor el trabajo duro" me gustó bastante y la verdad es un buen mensaje.
Regardless of all this, it is still a classic and even with its lack of depth it is entertaining and enjoyable. And well, people, this has been all for today's post, I hope you liked it.
