Today I come to talk to you about a series that has kept me hooked to tv every week because just like most of the people who live in Latin America and are from here, I grew up watching all the shows of the comedian Roberto Gomez Bolanos, better known as "Chespirito" my parents always told me interesting facts that were mentioned a lot in the time when the shows were broadcasted on regular TV, but watching this series, which is also written by the actor's children, helps us to have a broader vision of the actor and the environment that surrounded him, because it not only focuses on his personal life but also on the creative process of all the characters and shows that today have become a classic that we love generation after generation.
¡Hola Hola gente de Hive! ¿Cómo están? Hoy vengo a hablarles de una serie que me ha mantenido enganchada a la tv cada semana porque al igual que la mayoría de las personas que vivimos en Latinoamérica y somos de aquí, crecí viendo todos los programas del comediante Roberto Gómez Bolaños, mejor conocido como "Chespirito" mis papás siempre me contaron datos interesantes que se mencionaron mucho en la época en que transmitían los programas en la televisión regular, pero ver esta serie que además está escrita por los hijos del actor nos ayuda a tener una visión más amplia del actor y el entorno que lo rodeaba, porque no solo se enfoca en su vida personal sino en el proceso creativo de todos los personajes y shows que hoy en día se han convertido en un clásico que amamos generación tras generación.
I will start the review with the only point I consider negative in everything we have seen of the series so far, and that is the way it is structured, with those flashbacks scenes that are incorporated every so often, I think that honestly the audience would have appreciated that the story was chronologically more ordered, because I feel that somehow those scenes cut the plot thread, they take you out of context and end up confusing you a little. It's something I've noticed lately in Mexican biographical series, especially in the one about singer Gloria Trevi, although I have to admit that even so Chespirito's series is much better organized in that aspect, especially because of the photography, since some of the flashback scenes keep a black and white filter, which gives it a melancholic and realistic touch, making you feel you are in another context and in another time.
Voy a iniciar la reseña con el único punto que considero negativo en todo lo que hemos visto de la serie hasta ahora, y es la forma en la que está estructurada, con esas escenas flashbacks que incorporan a cada tanto, creo que sinceramente la audiencia hubiese agradecido que la historia estuviese cronológicamente más ordenada, porque siento que de alguna manera esas escenas cortan el hilo argumental, te sacan un poco de contexto y termina confundiéndote un poco. Es algo que he notado últimamente en series biográficas mexicanas, sobre todo en la de la cantante Gloria Trevi, aunque tengo que reconocer que aún así la serie de Chespirito está mucho mejor organizada en ese aspecto, sobre todo por la fotografía, ya que algunas de las escenas flashback mantienen un filtro blanco y negro, lo que le da un toque melancólico y realista, haciéndote sentir que estás en otro contexto y en otro tiempo.
The performances were at the height of their alter egos in real life (at least that's what I think according to the interviews I've seen) the resemblance of the actors of this series with the originals is amazing, especially in the main character (Roberto Gomez Bolanos) the actor really looks like a lot. And I like to highlight something important in terms of the performances, and that is that all the characters when playing actors from iconic shows, also act within the story itself, that is, they play those characters that made us laugh for generations and they do it superbly, my favorites are Juan Lecanda as Carlos Villagran playing Quico and Andrea Noli as Angelines Fernandez playing Doña Cleotilde.
Las actuaciones estuvieron a la altura de sus alter egos en la vida real (al menos es lo que creo según las entrevistas que he visto) el parecido de los actores de esta serie con los originales es asombrosa, sobre todo en el personaje principal (Roberto Gómez Bolaños) de verdad el actor se parece mucho. Y me gusta resaltar algo importante en cuanto a las actuaciones, y es que todos los personajes al interpretar actores de shows icónicos, también actúan dentro de la propia historia, es decir, interpretan esos personajes que nos hicieron reír por generaciones y lo hacen de forma soberbia, mis preferidos son Juan Lecanda como Carlos Villagran interpretando a Quico y Andrea Noli como Angelines Fernandez interpretando a Doña Cleotilde.
The series explores very personal aspects in the life of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, especially regarding his affair with Florinda Meza that ended the actor's marriage with his wife Graciela, with whom he had six children, and many have criticized only one of the parties, either Florinda Meza for meddling in the relationship or just Roberto for being a traitor, but if you want my personal opinion I consider that the only victim is Graciela, since she gave him unconditional love, respected his decisions, got involved in each of his projects when few people believed in him, she even made the Chapulin Colorado costume (one of his most emblematic characters) but Florinda Meza was clearly an opportunist who only wanted to benefit, on the other hand Roberto was the one who should have put her in her place, but he allowed her to move forward, so both are guilty.
La serie explora aspectos muy personales en la vida de Roberto Gómez Bolaños, en especial lo referente a su affaire con Florinda Meza que terminó con el matrimonio del actor con su esposa Graciela, con quien tenía seis hijos, y mucho han criticado solamente a una de las partes, o bien a Florinda Meza por haberse entrometido en la relación o solo a Roberto por traidor, pero si quieren mi opinión personal considero que la única victima es Graciela, ya que ella le brindó a él amor incondicional, respetó sus decisiones, se involucró en cada uno de sus proyectos cuando pocas personas creían en él, incluso confeccionó el traje de Chapulín Colorado (uno de sus personajes más emblemáticos) pero Florinda Meza claramente era una oportunista que solo buscaba beneficiarse, por su parte Roberto era quien debía ponerla en su lugar, pero él le permitió avanzar, así que ambos son culpables.
Florinda Meza arrived when Roberto already had a consolidated name in Latin American television, he had not yet reached the pinnacle of success but already had a name well positioned in the limelight, he had earned the respect of the public, while his wife was with him from the beginning, even with the uncertainty of knowing whether each of his projects would fail or succeed. Many have also speculated doubting the veracity of the script of this series since it is told from the point of view of Gómez Bolaños' children, but just by looking up some interviews of Florinda Meza and Roberto Gómez Bolaños, but especially of her, you will realize that she made very, very questionable comments, which have led to her being repudiated by the public.
Florinda Meza llegó cuando Roberto ya tenía un nombre consolidado en la televisión latinoamericana, él aún no alcanzaba la cúspide del éxito pero ya tenía un nombre bien posicionado en la palestra, se había ganado el respeto del público, mientras que su esposa estuvo con él desde sus inicios, aún y con la incertidumbre de saber si cada proyecto de él fracasaría o tendría éxito. Muchos han especulado también poniendo en duda la veracidad del guion de esta serie ya que está contada desde el punto de vista de los hijos de Gómez Bolaños, pero con tan solo buscar algunas entrevistas de Florinda Meza y de Roberto Gómez Bolaños, pero en especial de ella, ustedes se darán cuenta que ella hizo comentarios muy pero muy cuestionables, los cuales le han conducido al repudio del público.
Anyway the series also addresses many interesting topics that all of us fans always wanted to know like the origin of Roberto's ideas, the origin of the Chavo's neighborhood, all his characters, the Chapulin Colorado Etc, we could see the whole creative process behind every idea of every show, how they did the visual effects that aged very bad nowadays but were all a wonderful novelty back then, how they filmed the pilot episodes and also the uncertainty when the competing channel wanted to recruit the actors from channel 8, so at least with me, the series so far has exceeded my expectations, this Thursday episode six premieres, so we'll see what other interesting things await us.
De todos modos la serie también aborda muchos temas interesantes que todos los fans siempre quisimos saber como el origen de las ideas de Roberto, el origen de la vecindad del Chavo, todos sus personajes, el Chapulín Colorado Etc, pudimos ver todo el proceso creativo que hay detrás de cada idea de cada show, como hacían los efectos visuales que envejecieron muy mal hoy en día pero que eran toda una maravillosa novedad en ese entonces, como grabaron los episodios pilotos y también la incertidumbre que hubo cuando el canal de la competencia quería reclutar a los actores del canal 8, así que al menos conmigo, lo que va de serie ha superado mis expectativas, este jueves se estrena el episodio seis, así que ya veremos que otras cosas interesantes nos aguardan.
