She Hulk is Anti-men.

When Marvel first announced this series, I had a feeling it was going to be crappy. Considering how badly they regressed the mighty hulk into a repulsive version of himself. At least that was what I first thought as marvel slowly unveiled his regression from the Thor Ragnarok movie till The Avengers End Game movie, which to me at that moment was totally unacceptable. The idea of letting go of something powerful and just watching it regress into a state of uncertainty was simply unacceptable, until...I saw she-hulk: attorney at law.

In the marvel's she-hulk series, I got to see a lot of side notes about the hulk(aka Bruce Barner played by Mark Alan Ruffalo) that I have not noticed before in any avengers movie or even a hulk movie. For example, I knew that Toney stark was friends with Bruce Barner but I never thought the two of them were best friends forever. Whenever I think Toney stark aka iron man, I think Captain America, whenever I think Bruce Barner, I think Black widow, whenever I think Wanda Maximoff I think quicksilver or Vision... I'm sure you get the gist. But now, after watching the pilot episode of the she-hulk I discovered that Barner and Toney were Best friends and Toney had built a lab for Bruce to secretly do his experiment and find the cure for the hulk. At least now I know why the hulk starts talking in Thor: Ragnarok...

Now, about she-hulk(Tatiana Maslany), she is Bruce Barner's cousin who got infected with the hulk gene via blood contamination after a car accident. But she didn't become Anti-men because she got the hulk gene...no she didn't, and that's because she has always been that way. The fact that she's a woman living in a world where men think women should not be equal to men seemed to have left her with an innate fighting mechanism that kicks off whenever she's pinned against the opposite sex. Take the opening scene of the pilot episode as an example, where she is in a room with a male lawyer, who thinks that she cannot handle a case while her friend who is a paralegal constantly showers praises on her. That scene alone even though extremely fun to watch, tells us everything we need to know about the series. And her brief but silent voice expression toward the male lawyer speaks volumes about her feelings towards men. There is also another scene after she gets infected with the hulk gene and finds herself in an unknown town. Here she's approached by a group of men while she stood Infront of a bar house, and of course, I'm not certain what they want with her but the film makes a strong depiction that it's sex. Here she reacts violently by transforming into a Shehulk about to brutalize the poor men, before the timely intervention of the Hulk. Judging from these two scenarios you can conclude that she is a feminist. And if you still don't believe it, just make some time to watch the movie. Then you can see how she continuously belittles the sweet but innocent Smart hulk and makes him feel inferior during their training sessions. I know hulk has been demoted to being a sissy but he didn't deserve that level of degradation that made it look as though all his struggle in life to become who he is and control what he is, was all for nothing.

But the fact that the she hulk is a feminist is not a downside to this series, instead, it's the pillar.. it's what gives this story life. And this is probably because of the character who plays she-hulk(Tatiana Maslany). Her ability to act is just impressive as she was able to maintain the tone of happiness throughout the episode even though the hulk came crashing in on her parade multiple times. Watching this pilot episode will certainly trigger your happy nerve causing you to smile, laugh or just openly cringe at the beautiful scenes made, and the undeniable chemistry that exists between the Hulk and she-hulk.

The CGI quality is weirdly satisfying, unlike what we saw on the trailer release, the she hulk is looking as real and as human as possible with the hulk skin(green) that flavours her looks and makes her seem more attractive than her human self. The quality, beauty, and effort added to remake the CGI and have it look this believable, real and attractive deserves a worldwide appreciation.

And for the storyline, which Initially I thought would need the presence of Bruce Barner to make a name or meaning for itself. proved me wrong. Instead, it's the other way around, as the storyline adds more meaning to most of the marvel characters we have come to love, revealing their secrets and hidden truths, along with a secret life that we never knew existed. The storyline tells all these and more without forgetting to introduce itself as the next big thing in the marvel universe.

To finally concluded what turned out to be a long review, watching this series comes down to you .... Are you someone looking for laughter? do you enjoy seeing people happy? do you love marvel movies or superhero movies in general? are you a big supporter of the feminist cause? are you a big hater of the feminist cause?
