Review by @breili · 3264d · of Passengers

It is a science fiction film released in December 2016, tells the story of the spacecraft "Avalon" in which it transports more than five thousand humans for sidereal space on a trip to the planet "Homestead" for its colonization, with a time scheduled 120-year trip, in which passengers are in hibernation cameras during all that time.

Jim (Chris Pratt) awakens for a breakdown in his hibernation machine 90 years before his arrival to the new planet, after many failed attempts to repair it and the impossibility of entering the command center spends a year living alone in the ship that he offers many comforts but with the misfortune to live the rest of his life just wandering through space.

His only company is a robotic barman, every day he watches the passengers in his perpetual dream, read about their lives not to feel alone, this is how he falls in love with Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence), a first class occupant, for his videos of biography comes to know her and in a frenzy of madness and despair by the solitude decides to wake her up. Returning to sanity he regrets that he did it because he knows that the process is irreversible and that, like him, his destiny would be to die on that ship before reaching his destination.

Aurora does not imagine that it was not a mechanical fault, but Jim who damages the machine and for some time lives in that deception, they know, coexist and between them arises a love story that lasts a short time until Aurora really discovers about her hibernation. Full of anger does not resign to grow old and die in that ship so he moves away from Jim to live apart making the memories of their experiences so that upon awakening the crew will know its history.

The "Avalon" begins to generate multiple failures in the systems by overload of different components, originated by the collision with an asteroid field until its imminent destruction. Aurora and Jim do their best to save the ship and its crew in a dangerous feat. They manage to survive, consolidate their love and set out to make the ship the perfect ecosystem to live the rest of their lives.

This production received two nominations to the Oscars and in my personal opinion the "chemistry" of the actors is something that is worth seeing.
