Unbroken is a film first shown in theaters in 2014, produced by Universal Pictures in the United States and directed by the well-known actress Angelina Jolie. It tells a story of survival based on real events, specifically the events that occurred to the young Italian-born Louis Zamperini, who was an Olympic athlete in his hometown and soldier of the Second World War until his bomber plane fell into the sea.
He survived on a raft drifting in the ocean for forty-seven days with other members of his crew until he was captured by the opposing army and taken to a prisoner of war camp in Japanese territory, where he was for a couple of years receiving tortured and subjected to forced labor, the director of the camp began to establish a sickly and cruel relationship with Zamperini, where his pleasure was in hurting him.

That high Japanese military officer could never break him, despite using all his strength and power to humiliate him and subdue him, killing his prisoner would be easy but instead he wanted to break his pride with every blow, his frustration was that with everything that He was still firm without expressing suffering.

On the eve of the Oscars, it is worth noting that this production received three nominations for technical prizes in the categories of best sound, sound editing and photography. The authentic Louis Zamperini died twice before its premiere at ninety-seven, his images can be seen at the end of the film.

This film inspired me and conveyed to me a reflective message of inner strength, however much they try to degrade you and offend you, do not let them ever bend your spirit. I also stayed with a motivating phrase of the protagonist that I quote verbatim:
No matter how dark the night, however feeble the hope, the light always comes after the darkness. Whoever fights without rest, triumphs. You just have to believe in you, I believe in you. A moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory.
