An excellent song full of coldness and nostalgia Ticket to Ride 1965

Today, I'm very pleased and excited to present the following musical review, which, as is my custom, concerns a song by the fabulous long-haired lads from Liverpool. This time, I'm referring to the song "Ticket to Ride." This song marks, for me, the definitive transition from a melodic and simple style to a much more complex and elaborate one, both in lyrics and music. This track is included on the 1965 album Help!, and it's also part of the soundtrack for their second film, a successful movie that, unlike the first, was filmed entirely in color.

The video I'm sharing with you today is taken from the film itself and was filmed in Austria. There they are in the snow showing off their clumsy and awkward skiing skills, hahaha, really funny, to be honest. You can see they were about as good at skiing as I am at being an astronaut, but they look great and fantastic.

Those shots and scenes make me feel really cold just imagining them there with all that snow, everything about to freeze. You can feel the cold in the video; it seems to come right through the screen and envelop you through the wonderful notes of the song they're performing, which in this case is "Ticket to Ride." I should also mention that this film was shot in several countries, including the Bahamas here in the Caribbean.

The song is masterfully performed by John, who, along with Paul, shares lead vocals, as well as playing rhythm guitar and bass respectively. George plays lead guitar, and Ringo plays drums, tambourine, and handclaps. This song was released as a single in April 1965, along with the song "Yes It Is," and reached number 1 on the Billboard charts between April and May of that year.

Personally, the rhythm and lyrics of the song evoke melancholy, longing, sadness, and sorrow in me, because the lyrics speak precisely of that: a separation and a farewell. The musical notes reinforce that feeling of regret and heartbreak. It's a rather sad song, but it's still wonderful and beautiful.

Another detail I can share about this song is that the record label needed a new album at that time, and they released the song I'm sharing with you today as a single, which would have been included on that eventual album. In addition, a film was planned, which was to be called "Eight Arms to Hold Yours," a title that was never finalized, and instead they changed the title to "Help!" They were geniuses, truly wonderful...!!!
