Yeah, I know I know, you've seen the movie and surely there's nothing I'll say that's new. But then wouldn't you like to know how much this movie resonated in me things that needed resonating. For someone who has talents and doesn't have the privilege of having these talents being appreciated or promoted because of the part of the world he finds himself, this movie actually meant a lot and it really gave me hope.
I could picture myself, going to reheàrsals on a daily, working hard to perfect those moves, to improve my talent because it's what I'm obsessed with. Day by day, sweating under the sun, with rumpled clothes and shoes that are barely holding on. Year on year same routine all over again with no result. I could feel the pain and I still feel it though but then, I know the right moment is coming.
I had always wanted to watch this movie earlier but I kept postponing downloading it and It went on like that on till yesterday when I finally held myself by the neck and gave myself some really good spanking. I downloaded it, and took my time watching it, I didn't want any distractions and I didn't want to miss any moment and that's what I did, I savored every moment and I enjoyed every bit of it.

The film stars one of my favorites, Adam Sandler (Stanley Sugerman) alongside, Queen Latifah, Ben Foster, Juancho Hernangómez, Robert Duvall, Anthony Edwards, Heidi Gardner as the main characters and the movie runs for 117 minutes.
Plot
The movie tells the story of a basketball scout Stanley who travels round in search for the best of the best to add to the team. His constant travels takes him away from his wife and lovely daughter. But suddenly he finds himself finding favour with the club owner and he becomes promoted to assistant coach.
He finds himself in a beautiful position one he had always hoped for but then the owner dies and this leaves the company in the hands of the owner's son who doesn't really fancy Sugerman, before long he finds himself being demoted to being a scout again against his many pleas.
Back on the road and this time in Spain in search for greatness he mistakenly stumbles on a street court where he finds one of the most talented basketballers he'd ever met. Impressed, he tries to get this young Spanish signed in to the team but things ends up becoming complicated.
What follows is a series of events that'll change a lot of lives. It shows the hurdles, the hardship and the strength of family and Friendship. It shows the drive to keep pushing, to become the best you'll have to be obsessed enough to chase your dreams.

I've always admired Sandler because of his free and fun nature and I certainly didn't expect him to be in this type of role. He did it without trying too hard, it was a natural for him. I like that he didn't become too serious and actually made the movie fun. Sugerman, the man with who'd ruined his own career ends up putting everything he had, including risking his own job to make sure the world sees his man.
Queen Latifah (Teresa Sugerman)

I like that they introduced experience actors into this movie. Latifah is one who's also a natural, she gave out that somewhat loving and sometimes I don't give a shit exterior really well. I couldn't find fault with how well she played Teresa Sugerman. I enjoyed her beautiful laugher and her stern look.
Juancho Hernangómez ( Bo Cruz)

At first when I saw him, I thought he was going to be the badass arrogant type but no!, they outdid my expectations. He was quite the opposite, almost made me want to cry. Despite his big demeanor he was someone you couldn't help loving and Juancho actually did it for me, he and the character were one and the same and it played out well.

Being the antagonist actually suited him just fine, even if we didn't see much of him, he was actually quite instrumental in bring out the best in Cruz and he did it so well, lol.
My take on the Movie
It's a great movie, and it actually spoke to me personally. I enjoyed every bit of it, especially the way they showed us how much work Bo Cruz had put in. Day in day out, working his heart out because he just wanted the best for the ones he loved.
The story was a good one, even though it's nothing short of what we've been seeing before, you can blame us for always loving the underdog. The locations were on point and since they were working with real life basketballers it actually made everything realistic.
I certainly recommend you go what this movie if you havn't. It's a great one, I'll rate it a 9 out of 10.

Sí, lo sé, lo sé, has visto la película y seguramente no hay nada que vaya a decir que sea nuevo. Pero entonces no te gustaría saber hasta qué punto esta película hizo resonar en mí cosas que necesitaban resonar. Para alguien que tiene talentos y no tiene el privilegio de que estos talentos sean apreciados o promovidos debido a la parte del mundo en la que se encuentra, esta película realmente significó mucho y me dio esperanza.
Podía imaginarme a mí mismo, yendo a reheàrsals a diario, trabajando duro para perfeccionar esos movimientos, para mejorar mi talento porque es lo que me obsesiona. Día a día, sudando bajo el sol, con la ropa arrugada y los zapatos que apenas aguantan. Año tras año la misma rutina de nuevo sin ningún resultado. Podía sentir el dolor y todavía lo siento, pero entonces, sé que el momento adecuado está llegando.
Siempre había querido ver esta película antes pero seguía posponiendo su descarga y así fue hasta ayer cuando finalmente me sujeté por el cuello y me di unos buenos azotes. La descargué, y me tomé mi tiempo para verla, no quería ninguna distracción y no quería perderme ningún momento y eso es lo que hice, saboreé cada momento y disfruté cada pedacito.

Se encuentra en una hermosa posición que siempre había esperado, pero entonces el propietario muere y deja la empresa en manos del hijo del dueño, a quien no le gusta mucho Sugerman.
De nuevo en la carretera y esta vez en España, en busca de la grandeza, tropieza por error con una cancha callejera en la que encuentra a uno de los jugadores de baloncesto con más talento que ha conocido. Impresionado, intenta que este joven español sea fichado por el equipo, pero las cosas acaban complicándose.
Lo que sigue es una serie de acontecimientos que cambiarán muchas vidas. Muestra los obstáculos, las dificultades y la fuerza de la familia y la amistad. Muestra el empuje para seguir empujando, para llegar a ser el mejor tendrás que estar lo suficientemente obsesionado para perseguir tus sueños.

Siempre he admirado a Sandler por su carácter libre y divertido y desde luego no me esperaba que estuviera en este tipo de papeles. Lo hizo sin esforzarse demasiado, fue algo natural para él. Me gusta que no se haya puesto demasiado serio y que haya hecho que la película sea divertida. Sugerman, el hombre con el que había arruinado su propia carrera, acaba poniendo todo lo que tenía, incluso arriesgando su propio trabajo para asegurarse de que el mundo vea a su hombre.
Queen Latifah (Teresa Sugerman)
Me gusta que hayan introducido actores con experiencia en esta película. Latifah es una de las que también es natural, dio ese exterior algo cariñoso y a veces me importa una mierda muy bien. No pude encontrar ningún fallo en lo bien que interpretó a Teresa Sugerman. Disfruté de su hermosa risa y de su mirada severa.
Juancho Hernangómez ( Bo Cruz)
Al principio, cuando lo vi, pensé que iba a ser el tipo arrogante y malote pero no!, superaron mis expectativas. Era todo lo contrario, casi me dieron ganas de llorar. A pesar de su gran comportamiento era alguien a quien no podías dejar de querer y Juancho realmente lo hizo por mí, él y el personaje eran uno y el mismo y lo interpretó bien.
Anthony Edwards ( Kermit Wilts)
Ser el antagonista en realidad le vino muy bien, aunque no lo vimos mucho, en realidad fue bastante decisivo para sacar lo mejor de Cruz y lo hizo muy bien, lol.
Mi opinión sobre la película
Es una gran película, y realmente me habló personalmente. Disfruté de cada parte, especialmente de la forma en que nos mostraron el trabajo que había realizado Bo Cruz. Día tras día, esforzándose al máximo porque sólo quería lo mejor para sus seres queridos.
La historia era buena, aunque no es nada más que lo que hemos visto antes, puedes culparnos por amar siempre a los desvalidos. Las locaciones estuvieron en su punto y como trabajaron con basquetbolistas de la vida real hizo que todo fuera realista.
Sin duda os recomiendo que vayáis a ver esta película si no lo habéis hecho. Es una gran película, la califico con un 9 de 10.
