I think this is one of the most reviewed movie in this community, hehe. From the day it came out, till this moment I kept seeing a lot of reviews but it didn't spark my interest untill my roommate who while he was watching made a weird remark. He was like "damn, I think this guy is going to win John Wick in a fight", I wondered how that was ever possible but I think he immediately changed his mind after seeing a pencil, but that remark there really did spark my interest, so I got the movie from me.
I could say I started watching the movie with a lot of expectations, you know, like the kind that comes with John Wick and a little bit of Ryan Rynolds, but I didn't know it was going to be kinda like a lesser version of 007, it was on a six dimension. But most times I don't look for fault in movies if not I would have stressed the fact that Ryan Rynolds would have played six better but that would be me being obsessed with Ryan (I love the guy). The movie however was enjoyable no matter what a lot of critics might say.
It was touching at some point, seeing someone willing to lose his life for the one he loves. It's a normal theme in movies today but I loved how the producers, the Russo brothers went about this one and they actually went all out with the casts especially Starring Ryan Gosling as Six (the protagonist) and surprisingly Chris Evans (Lloyd Hansen), hardly do you see two handsome dudes as the bad guys. Other casts Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Dhanush, Alfre Woodard, Billy Bob Thornton were quite state of the art.
Plot
It tells the story of a murderer who'd been convicted as a minor for killing his father to save his brother. This murderer is visited by Donald , who offers him his freedom in exchange for him to spend his life working as an assassin for the CIA Sierra Program.
He agrees and gets given the code name Sierra Six. Six gets given a duty to assassinate a target who's suspected to be in possession of National security secrets which shouldn't fall into the wrong hands. He's assisted by Dani and he's supposed to get rid of the target easily but then Six thinks twice about pulling the trigger because of he doesn't want civilians to get hurt, he then decides to do things his way.
His way actually led him to having one on one combat with the target who then reveals that he's also part of the Sierra Program and he's known as Sierra Four. They both fight and Six gets the upper hand but before Four dies he hands over an encrypted drive that has information about the corrupt practices of the head of the CIA Carmichael leading the assassination, apparently they hadn't been truthful about the whole mission all along. Six starts to smell something fowl and refuses to use the extraction with Carmichael and decides to call Donald Fitzroy instead.
Carmichael gets angry and decides to employ the services of Lloyd Hansen, an unscrupulous assassin to get rid of six and get him the drive and since Lloyd is good at playing dirty he decides to kidnap Fitzroy's niece Claire, forcing Fitzroy to ask his own extraction team to kill six instead.
Would six be able to escape the numerous people sent to kill him? Would he be able to save Claire and get the drive into the right hands? I think that's enough spoilers, you'll have to go see the movie yourself if you havn't.
My take on the movie
The movie actually wasn't bad and I actually warmed up to Ryan because of how well he played the part, I know his sense of humor could have been a lot better but then I just love how he rarely talks too much and when he talks he ends up saying things that you wouldn't really get at first. I also enjoyed how he goes about his fighting without any stress or emotion, he always has this plain look on his face that'll make you question if he's hurt or not.
I think six is a great character even though I don't think he'll stand a chance against John Wick. As for the villian, I don't know, he just didn't really pose much of a threat for me, as is the case with a lot of movies nowadays. There was nothing scary about him but I wouldn't say Chris did bad, I'm sure it's just the effect of a story that could have been a lot better.
The fast scenes I noticed were a bit too fast, sometimes I couldn't see most of the action, it looked rather unreal. There's this feeling you get when you see a good fight, or when the main actor is carefully taking out the bad guys, it just wasn't too well played for me. The setting was nice, lighting not too bad but surely the casts were great.
I had fun watching it, even if you can have the thought that the ending is going to be a happy one, I like the fact that they messed with us a little and I certainly didn't expect it to end that way, I had pictured a different ending and they gave me another. I loved how well Claire played her character, I even became really fond of her. Overall it wasn't a bad movie, they're a lot of enjoyable moments that you certainly need to see so I'll surely recommend you to watch it if you havn't. I'm rating it a 7 out of 10.

Creo que es una de las películas con más críticas en esta comunidad, jeje. Desde el día que salió, hasta este momento seguí viendo muchas críticas pero no despertó mi interés hasta que mi compañero de piso que mientras la veía hizo un comentario raro. El dijo "maldición, creo que este tipo va a ganar a John Wick en una pelea ", me pregunté cómo era posible pero creo que inmediatamente cambió de opinión después de ver un lápiz, pero ese comentario ahí sí que despertó mi interés, así que conseguí la película de mi parte.
Podría decir que empecé a ver la película con un montón de expectativas, ya sabes, como las que vienen con John Wick y un poco de Ryan Rynolds, pero no sabía que iba a ser como una versión menor de 007, estaba en una dimensión seis. Pero la mayoría de las veces no busco fallos en las películas si no hubiera destacado el hecho de que Ryan Rynolds hubiera interpretado mejor a six pero eso sería yo que estoy obsesionado con Ryan (me encanta el tipo). La película sin embargo fue disfrutable sin importar lo que muchos críticos puedan decir.
Fue conmovedor en algún momento, ver a alguien dispuesto a perder su vida por la persona que ama. Es un tema normal en las películas de hoy en día, pero me encantó cómo los productores, los hermanos Russo fueron a por esta y realmente fueron a por todas con los repartos, especialmente protagonizados por Ryan Gosling como Six (el protagonista) y sorprendentemente Chris Evans (Lloyd Hansen), difícilmente se ven dos tipos guapos como los malos. El resto del reparto, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Dhanush, Alfre Woodard y Billy Bob Thornton, son de lo mejor.
Trama
Cuenta la historia de un asesino que ha sido condenado siendo menor de edad por matar a su padre para salvar a su hermano. Este asesino es visitado por Donald , quien le ofrece su libertad a cambio de que pase su vida trabajando como asesino para el Programa Sierra de la CIA.
Acepta y se le da el nombre en clave de Sierra Seis. Seis recibe el encargo de asesinar a un objetivo del que se sospecha que posee secretos de seguridad nacional que no deben caer en malas manos. Cuenta con la ayuda de Dani y se supone que debe deshacerse del objetivo con facilidad, pero entonces Seis se lo piensa dos veces antes de apretar el gatillo porque no quiere que haya civiles heridos, y decide hacer las cosas a su manera.
Su manera de hacer las cosas lo lleva a tener un combate uno a uno con el objetivo, quien entonces revela que también es parte del Programa Sierra y es conocido como Sierra Four. Ambos luchan y Seis consigue la ventaja pero antes de que Cuatro muera le entrega un disco encriptado que tiene información sobre las prácticas corruptas del jefe de la CIA Carmichael que dirigía el asesinato, aparentemente no habían sido veraces sobre toda la misión todo el tiempo. Seis empieza a oler algo raro y se niega a usar la extracción con Carmichael y decide llamar a Donald Fitzroy en su lugar.
Carmichael se enfada y decide emplear los servicios de Lloyd Hansen, un asesino sin escrúpulos para deshacerse de Seis y conseguir el disco y como a Lloyd se le da bien jugar sucio decide secuestrar a Claire, la sobrina de Fitzroy, obligando a Fitzroy a pedir a su propio equipo de extracción que mate a Seis en su lugar.
¿Será Seis capaz de escapar de las numerosas personas enviadas para matarlo? ¿Será capaz de salvar a Claire y conseguir que el disco llegue a las manos adecuadas? Creo que ya son suficientes spoilers, tendrás que ir a ver la película tú mismo si no lo has hecho.
Mi opinión sobre la película
La película en realidad no fue mala y en realidad me calenté con Ryan debido a lo bien que interpretó el papel, sé que su sentido del humor podría haber sido mucho mejor, pero entonces me encanta cómo rara vez habla demasiado y cuando habla termina diciendo cosas que realmente no entenderías al principio. También me gustó cómo va a su lucha sin ningún tipo de estrés o emoción, siempre tiene esta mirada sencilla en su cara que te hará cuestionar si está herido o no.
Creo que el seis es un gran personaje aunque no creo que tenga ninguna oportunidad contra John Wick. En cuanto al villano, no sé, no me supuso una gran amenaza, como ocurre con muchas películas hoy en día. No había nada que diera miedo, pero no diría que Chris lo hizo mal, seguro que es sólo el efecto de una historia que podría haber sido mucho mejor.
Las escenas rápidas las noté un poco demasiado rápidas, a veces no podía ver la mayor parte de la acción, parecía bastante irreal. Hay una sensación que se tiene cuando se ve una buena pelea, o cuando el actor principal está eliminando cuidadosamente a los malos, simplemente no estaba demasiado bien interpretado para mí. La ambientación era bonita, la iluminación no estaba tan mal, pero sin duda los repartos eran geniales.
Me divertí viéndola, aunque se puede tener el pensamiento de que el final va a ser feliz, me gusta que se metan un poco con nosotros y desde luego no me esperaba que acabara así, me había imaginado un final diferente y me dieron otro. Me encantó lo bien que interpretó Claire su personaje, incluso le cogí mucho cariño. En general no fue una mala película, hay muchos momentos agradables que sin duda hay que ver, así que seguramente te recomendaré que la veas si no lo has hecho. La califico con un 7 de 10.
