Just what am I babbling on about? Well, just read on a bit and u, too, will understand and be happy..

This was one of those stand out movies for me. It had a bit of everything I thought was great and what movies were all about. I remember just how it looked so cool! even the name of it was so awesome!

Now, in my memories.. that what was most awesome and stood out to my boy self.. was the Glave, (one truly badass fantasy space ninja star!)

I sure remember this guy and how totally cool he was..

and he also had a badass weapon!

(plus this awesome badass axe)

The totally dark and sinister looking baddies..

Not in the least was the terrifying evil badness boss monster himself.

this giant, SEE THROUGH spider. (how COOL was that??)..

and I vaugely remembered the boring stuff.. like the story, main character, love story, blah blah blah..

I was pleasantly surprised, that on re-watching now, I was able to notice and enjoy so much more about the film..

(including how the evil fortress teleported to a new location every sunrise.. who thought of that one? Such a cool little twist!)

and then back to this guy, who had his own cool little story and he was just the coolest character to me..

(this is when he had to leave the party, cuz u know, he had to die soon and to be with them meant certain painful death, which i guess is NOT so much fun.)

but OF COURSE, he sayd F--- that, and rushed in last minute to save the day.. and the whole quest would've failed if not for him!

here he just takes a laser shot and laughs as he charges and slaughters his way into the fortress..

Just a Cyclops BADASS!!!

and this part stood out, I guess cuz I am older now and can appreciate the feels and good writing..

the guy.. the funny, akward, wimpy looking comic relief of the party really forms a bond with the kid in the group, and even turns himself into a puppy to fulfill the boy's one wish and then a TIGER at the end, to protect the boy and slice him up some bad guys!

(it was a heartfelt pull that I didn't expect from a movie like this.)

OK, and finally.. here's the part I noticed that inspired the title of this little post..

In the eary part of the movie, LONESTAR, our hero, has to climb the mountain to the highest peak, in order to find and retrieve THE GLAVE.. the only last hope of fighting and defeating the evil monster/god lord zedd, or whatever his name was.

So he climbs!

and climbs..

and ascends without ever stopping to rest..

and at last, he is almost there!

but first, he must climb some more..

and a bit more..

He has reached the mystical, wonderful, NANI cave!!!

even as a young boy, I knew the wonder and subconciously knew to ALWAYS seek this out..

in which many men entered.

even this guy..

I guess there's just a certain angle or something he said that made me recognize him. I looked it up to confirm..

i guess this was a bit before he learned his particular set of skills..
