One of the advantages of having children who like to watch movies is that you can enjoy pleasant moments as a family in front of the movie screen, and when you can relive classics you enjoy it even more. This time we watched Monster Inc, a movie that I had never seen, I don't know why, reasons of destiny, circumstances, etc., the truth is that I had not been able to see it, but I had always wanted to, so I took some time with them and together we shared this good production, even my wife was dedicated to watch it with us.

Monster Inc. takes us to a world where scaring human children is absolutely necessary, that way you get the energy for the whole city, so this company is responsible for hiring the best scaring monsters so that every night they fulfill their quota of scare and thus live in optimal conditions. In this context we are introduced to the two main characters of the film, Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan, the best team of scare monsters in the factory and who hold the record for scares.

Mike is a small green monster with only one eye, his job is not to scare but to prepare everything for his partner to do it, he has a somewhat self-centered personality, he always wants to be the best in everything he does, something that is not exactly bad, but he wants to be recognized by others, and that is the negative part that we are shown of his character during the film. On the other hand we have Sullivan, the great scarer, a monster who is the best at what he does and is always focused on his work, the way he is is somewhat carefree and a bit silly at the same time, as for his appearance he is a big monster, but despite his size he shows a very sweet side, something we will see later in the movie.

Una de las ventajas de tener hijos que le gusten ver películas es que se pueden disfrutar momentos agradables en familia frente a la pantalla cinematográfica, y cuando se pueden revivir clásicos más se disfruta. En esta oportunidad nos dedicamos a ver Monster Inc., una película que jamás había visto, no sé porque, razones del destino, circunstancias, etc., lo cierto es que no la había podido ver, pero siempre había querido hacerlo, asi que me tome un tiempo con ellos y juntos compartimos esta buena producción, incluso mi esposa se dedicó a verla con nosotros.

Monster Inc., nos traslada a un mundo donde asustar a los niños humanos es absolutamente necesario, de esa forma se obtiene la energía para toda la ciudad, asi que esta empresa se encarga de contratar a los mejores monstruos asustadores para que cada noche cumplan su cuota de susto y asi vivir en condiciones óptimas. En este contexto se nos presentan a los dos personajes principales de la película, Mike Wazowski y James P. Sullivan, el mejor equipo de asustadores de toda la fábrica y quienes tienen el record de sustos.

Mike es un monstruo pequeño de color verde y con un solo ojo, su trabajo no consiste en asustar sino en preparar todo para que su compañero lo haga, tiene una personalidad un poco egocéntrica, siempre quiere ser el mejor en todo lo que hace, algo que no es precisamente malo, pero quiere ser reconocido por los demás, y esa es la parte negativa que se nos muestra de su carácter durante la película. Por otro lado tenemos a Sullivan, el gran asustador, un monstruo que es el mejor en lo que hace y siempre está enfocado en su trabajo, la forma de ser que tiene es algo despreocupada y un poco tonta a la vez, en cuanto a su apariencia es un monstruo grande, pero a pesar de su tamaño muestra un lado muy dulce, algo que veremos más adelante en la película.

**Watch out for little Boo / Cuidado con la pequeña Boo**

In every story there is an antagonist, and in this case his name is Randall Bogs, a monster who chases the scare record and is usually cruel in what he does. As he can not beat Sullivan he begins to draw an evil plan to take him out of the game and revolutionize the company of scares, for this he has to steal human children and bring them to the world of monsters, something that is totally forbidden, but with the help of the president of the company who is his accomplice he begins to draw his evil plan.

It all starts because the children become more difficult to scare, and that complicates the work in the future, so as a countermeasure he devises this evil procedure, and in the midst of all these intentions Boo arrives to the world of monsters. Who is Boo? She is a little girl who fortuitously meets Sullivan and not Randall the first time she enters this world, and one of the teachings that have always been given to the monsters is that they can not be touched by humans or anything human because "they can die".

Under this concept the deepest part of the story unfolds, and we see a team of MIB type monsters who are in charge of disinfecting and destroying everything human in their world, but at the same time we are shown a scene of terror and fright because of the little girl. Sullivan and Mike take care of Boo, and after the first night they realize that nothing is as they say, they do not die if they are in contact with children, and the latter are not a threat, so they decide to do everything possible to get Boo back to the real world and out of danger.

En toda historia hay un antagonista, y en este caso se llama Randall Bogs, un monstruo que persigue el record de sustos y suele ser cruel en lo que hace. Como no puede vencer a Sullivan comienza a trazar un plan malvado para sacarlo del juego y revolucionar la empresa de sustos, para ello tiene que robar niños humanos y traerlos al mundo de los monstruos, algo que está totalmente prohibido, pero con ayuda del presidente de la empresa quien es su cómplice comienza a trazar su maléfico plan.

Todo comienza porque los niños se vuelven más difíciles de asustar, y eso complica el trabajo a futuro, entonces como contramedida se ingenia este mal proceder, y en medio de todas esas intenciones llega Boo al mundo de los monstruos. ¿Quién es Boo? Es una pequeña niña que fortuitamente se encuentra con Sullivan y no con Randall la primera vez que entra a este mundo, y una de las enseñanzas que siempre les han dado a los monstruos es que no pueden dejarse tocar por humanos o cualquier cosa humana porque “pueden morir”.

Bajo este concepto se desarrolla la parte más profunda de la historia, y vemos un equipo de monstruos tipos MIB que se encarga de la desinfección y destrucción de todo lo humano en su mundo, pero a su vez se nos muestra una escena de terror y espanto a causa de la pequeña niña. Sullivan y Mike se encargan de Boo, y luego de la primera noche se dan cuenta de que nada es como dicen, no mueren si estan en contacto con los niños, y estos últimos no son una amenaza, por lo que deciden hacer todo lo posible por hacer que Boo vuelva a al mundo real y este fuera de peligro.

Sullivan takes a liking to the girl and tries to defend her from Randall and the president when they want to get the little girl, Mike at times sees his perfect life in a mess and shows his selfishness, but later comes to his senses and helps Sullivan to protect little Boo from the evildoers.

It is interesting the plot twist in the story, apparently what the president wants to do is to save the company, but he does not care about hurting the little girl, do everything for the "common good", but in the end it is just a way to maintain his status and protect his personal interests, something that in reality becomes a temptation for all people who are in a position of power.

Sullivan le agarra cariño a la niña y procura defenderla de Randall y el presidente cuando estos quieren hacerse con la pequeña, Mike por momentos ve su perfecta vida hecha un desastre y muestra su egoísmo, aunque más adelante recapacita y ayuda a Sullivan en proteger a la pequeña Boo de los malvados.

Es interesante el giro que da la trama en la historia, aparentemente lo que quiere hacer el presidente es salvar la empresa, pero no le importa hacer daño a la pequeña niña, hágase todo por el “bien común”, pero al final es solo una forma de mantener su status y proteger sus intereses personales, algo que en la realidad se vuelve una tentación para todas las personas que se encuentran en una posición de poder.

**Final thoughts / Pensamientos finales**

I was quite struck by how several elements are combined to give birth to such a fun movie, horror, comedy, arrogance, mystery, etc., each one of those factors was perfectly balanced in the story, and as a result magic was made, I'm really satisfied with the movie, I regret not having seen it before, but maybe I wouldn't have enjoyed it as now, at the end they give it a golden closing, showing us that better results can be reached if circumstantial problems are handled from a proper perspective where personal interest is not involved, maybe that's one of the main points that the production wants to teach us, and I love how they did it, in a funny way in a movie for kids.

Me llamo bastante la atención como se combinan varios elementos para dar origen a una película tan divertida, el terror, la comedia, la arrogancia, el misterio, etc., cada uno de esos factores fue perfectamente equilibrado en la historia, y como resultado se hizo magia, de verdad que estoy satisfecho con la película, lamento no haberla visto antes, pero quizás no la habría disfrutado como ahora, al final le dan un cierre con broche de oro, mostrándonos que se pueden llegar a mejores resultados si se manejan los problemas circunstanciales desde una perspectiva adecuada donde el interés personal no esté involucrado, quizás es uno de los puntos principales que la producción nos quiere enseñar, y me encanta como lo hicieron, de forma divertida en una película para niños.
