The story of Reeves' Bat-Man is the story of Gotham. The story of a dark city that drowns in shadows, corruption and crime. And only a man accustomed to darkness and darkness can try everything to save his city from damnation and definitive debacle.

Unaccustomed for a while - the fault of Nolan's Dark Knight - to the noir shades of the events of Gordon's Gotham, Reeves brings the viewer back to the events of the masked hero much more focused on the demons that haunt the city than him and less on his own, which always there. Shadows and darkness that, by hiding his face and his story, make his extraordinary and reckless superhero missions possible, more superhero than others because he lacks superpowers.
Despite the prejudices and reluctance of many, Reeves and Pattinson's Batman convinces and smashes. Artistically and also at the box office, despite the dark times in which it comes out in theaters. Times that seem the sadly true background of the fantastic events of gloomy Gotham. Who knows that even reality will not soon reserve us a bright orange-toned dawn at the end, perhaps thanks to normal men capable of extraordinary actions to defeat the wicked.

La storia dell’Uomo Pipistrello di Reeves è la storia di Gotham. La storia di una città oscura che annega nelle ombre, nella corruzione e nella criminalità. E solo un uomo abituato al buio e alle tenebre può tentare il tutto e per tutto per salvare la propria città dalla dannazione e dalla débâcle definitiva.
Il Batman di Reeves è un uomo normale, un giustiziere spinto e motivato inizialmente dal desiderio di vendetta che presto muterà in desiderio di riscatto per gli abitanti di Gotham, per non diventare come gli uomini malvagi a cui dà la caccia. Anche loro uomini normali, senza trucchi, né camuffamenti. Facce oscure e viscide, rese torbide dai crimini, dall’avidità e dalla follia.
Batman e i suoi nemici abitano gli stessi luoghi e per certi versi condividono gli stessi passati foschi e turbolenti alle loro spalle ma l’Uomo Pipistrello, al contrario dei suoi antagonisti, nelle tenebre vede ancora la possibilità di una luce, di un’alba, di una ricostruzione. E in quell’alba finisce il Batman della vendetta e inizia il Batman della speranza.
Disabituati da un po’ – colpa del Cavaliere Oscuro di Nolan – alle tinte noir delle vicende della Gotham di Gordon, Reeves riporta lo spettatore alle vicende dell’eroe mascherato molto più concentrato sui demoni che infestano la sua città e meno sui propri, che sempre ci sono. Ombre e oscurità che, celandone il volto e la sua storia, rendono possibili le sue straordinarie e spericolate missioni da supereroe, più supereroe di altri perché privo di superpoteri.
Nonostante i pregiudizi e la ritrosia di molti, il Batman di Reeves e di Pattinson convince e sbanca. Artisticamente e anche al botteghino, nonostante i tempi bui in cui esce nelle sale. Tempi che sembrano lo sfondo tristemente vero delle vicende fantastiche della tenebrosa Gotham. Chissà che anche la realtà non ci riservi a breve una luminosa alba dai toni aranciati sul finale, grazie magari a uomini normali capaci di azioni straordinarie per sconfiggere i malvagi.
