For me, the film had features from other films related to the idea.. films like Mr. Nobody. Cloud atlas. The Fountain.
The main feature of the film is diversity. In a mixture of action, comedy, science fiction and drama, they serve on a little of the philosophy. In cohesion, you feel it as you move between multiverse very smoothly.
The movie brings up many ideas, the first of which is the same idea that Arrival presented in another way. Which is, if we saw the end of the trip, would we make the same choices? The difference here is that we see other trips with other choices, in some of which our hero will achieve more successes and you live a better life, but far from the ones you love. Will she choose her success or her life with the ones she loves?
Also, there is a nihilistic touch, we find it from her daughter’s thinking, in the feasibility of everything, and how the means in itself are not the important thing, because no matter how different it is, what is supposed to happen will happen by any other means, even if our mind is unable to believe that is possible because we have not seen it happen in this way.
We also see how people may suffer from the controls of their parents when they are young and their rejection of their choices, and despite this they grow up to repeat the same action with different choices for their children, as if we are in a vicious circle.
It is possible for each one to get different meanings from the film, because it is excellent and bears different opinions and deeper than that... But there is one who will lose all this greatness and the film will see a conspiracy to demolish our principles and impose needs against our values.. And this talk with him is not useful.
