V for Vendetta || V is not only a letter or Roman numeral, but also a character.

people should not fear their governments, governments should fear their people

Guy Fawkes, who according to some is a supporter of thought and freedom, according to others a traitor, and who is remembered with the date 5 November 1605, is related to what I am about to tell.

But I will not talk about biographies or research on his life! It is useful to leave historical facts in history, but there are those who do not do this.

The 2006 film V for Vendetta, directed by James McTeigue, was inspired by Guy Fawkes' attempt to blow up the British parliament building on 5 November 1605 under the name of "social freedom".

I do not want to enter into discussions about heroes, traitors, religion or the ideas that an event that has remained in the dusty pages of history can create, I just want to reflect what happened as a film and my thoughts about the film I watched.

Violence can be used for good to achieve justice!

This quote from the film is so assertive and creative that many who oppose all forms of violence would object to it. Although I do not agree with the quote, it is important to remember that the people are the only real power. In the film V for Vendetta you see a lot of this kind of rhetoric and actions, ideas and personal freedoms are still a defended value and are valid as long as they are not abused.

Inspired by a comic book series written by Alan Moore, the film is based on the action of Guy Fawkes in history and the ideas of the character V, played by Hugo Weaving. He tries to complete the job he could not do on 5 November.

Although the film is long, it has a gripping effect and allows you to focus on the story. Of course, I have to say that I was not on a side for some reasons during the film. Most of the time I take a side in such films and I want the side I take to be superior throughout the film.

I can say that I justify the defence of freedom of thought, life and preferences, but I am also distant from those who support anarchy and chaos, or even go further and create it. Is it really freedom that is sought? Or are there other activities under the name of freedom? The film made me question these. Nurturing the feeling of hatred is as dangerous as spreading hatred.

Creating a programme under the name of national security and creating a virus by rounding up dissenters and conducting medical trials on them is the first way to instil fear. To be the only one who cures the virus is to be the sole owner of power. Fear is the most well-known form of easy management. All these are events that can create a domino effect.

What I find difficult to understand is that in a film defending ideas and personal freedoms, the people who are taken and experimented on are those who have sexual preferences in favour of both sexes. It's like a gathering of gay and lesbian people! I think this is the only negative in the film. Sexual preferences can be considered as a freedom, but I could not figure out what this has to do with freedom of opinion.

I have to say that I like the film, but I choose to remain neutral towards some scenes. If the film was not inspired by a historical reality, I could only consider it as fiction and watch it as a film, but when it is inspired by a historical reality and focuses on completing unfinished business, you measure the film with real life. When I do this, some of the scenes I mentioned above stand out in the film.

V FOR VENDETTA was a great movie. It was from that era of truly more risk-taking cinema. Can't wait to see more cool movies like this in the feature. Great post!
