My favorite movie of 2021 so far

Today I want to fill you in on a new movie. A few weeks ago a movie called Kate (starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was released on Netflix. This film slipped under the radar for me at first, but I eventually discovered it on my Netflix feed. I was first intrigued by the poster for the film. It was colorful, had a car on it, and I saw some Japanese imagery with Woody Harrelson.

Little did I know, this movie was even more perfect for me than I imagined. Once actually watching the film in its entirety, I realized that it was a blend of many of my favorite things.

It was a similar plot to one of my all-time favorite films Crank with Jason Statham. The main difference was that the protagonist was a female instead of a male. Then we can also add in the fact that it was based in Osaka, Japan. It was set during modern times, but I couldn't help but feel similarities to Cyberpunk 2077. Woody Harrelson's character was named V, just like the main character in Cyberpunk 2077. Plus some of the tuner cars were oddly reminiscent of the styling of many of the vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077.

This film is action-packed and enjoyable the entire way through. Watch my video to hear more about what I thought about the movie.

I loved this movie too! I liked how it showed how much you can do in one night if you really wanted it.

It was alright to me. Kind of predictable plot to me though.

Loved that it was setup in Japan and they threw in a bunch of cultural stuff there. As an anime fan, I love seeing shit like that.

Fight scenes were pretty sick too and I also love that they didn't do that BS thing we're the hero has super strength, despite being poisoned by a radio active chemical.

I have a while without opening my Netflix account, so I didn't know about this movie that from what you describe and what I just saw in the trailer, I love it. Mary Elizabeth I love as an actress, so I have good expectations about this movie. I just added it to my list, hope to see it on the weekend. Thanks for sharing it!

Hello... hey I did not have much faith in this movie and the participation of the beautiful (Elizabeth Winstead) did not give me a good sign and it is not that she is a bad actress or something like that is that the truth is that she has not had good appearances in action movies and the last thing I saw of her in a movie of this style was in Birds of Prey where she did not have much impact and well it is also because she was not the protagonist and that may influence a little, but beforehand I did not have much faith in her.

The same happens with the Netflix platform that lately is premieres are a waste of time, but to my surprise here things do look very interesting and a couple of hours ago I was able to enjoy this movie that has a little bit of everything and I do not want to compare but it has the aroma of movies like Kill Bill, Lucy this last one that I am going to name maybe it is not the same pro style for being set in Japan and I do not know if it is also an anime like the famous Ghost in the Shell that I am clear are two totally different movies and separates them a world, but it has that futuristic style and with a lot of color that makes that at a visual level is a pleasure, the action is brutal, has a lot of blood and wow that the sequences where the camera makes open and closed shots is brutal without a doubt of the best that Netflix has at this moment.

When the rhythm is frenetic, it reminds us of the film Crank. I like action movies with strong women fighting against villains, I really enjoyed the violent scenes, the deaths, good film.

I won't lie I came cause I was intrigued by @makeitrain4ever person...I noticed that you deligated some hive to him...but now I just want to watch this movie...

I was a teenager when I watched crank and I liked it even though I don't remember all the details...it'll be the first movie I'll watch after Paradise PD...

That intersting actually I don't like the bollywood movies/Indian movies but there is some hindi webseries aswell English also that I love to watch.....there is webseries named mirzapur...one of my favourite indian webseries...the show is talking all about crimes and all at a particular city...I love the story line and especially the blood visuals....I watch lot of Hollywood's....I love those movies because of there cinematics....hehehee...

Tbe trailer you attached to your post me into this and I'm pretty sure that this would be a good one to have in my watchlist.

The fight scenes seems to be the highlight of the movie. Not bad at all. Not bad
