Your Name In "Poetry, Story & Plot"

Review by @dante31 · 3146d · of Your Name

~

[Mitsuha]

I lived in another body

I lived in a boy's body

What a crazy experience

it must be a dream

yet it feels so real and true

i felt it all

i got to school and was told of the many things i did

it's like I skipped a day in my life

I cannot recall any memory of it

all I know is I had a pretty fun day

[Taki]

I woke up in a girl's body

terrified I was, as I noticed many changes in my body

a weird and good feeling

I looked into the mirror to gaze at my new found body

There I was with the prettiest eyes ever

this is really strange

have I been dreaming my whole life

is this my true reality

~

[Mitsuha]

This reoccurring event happens over and over

6ezpv0l.gif

Now I know this is real

I swap bodies with someone else

but I can't remember what happens afterwords

seems we both swapped bodies

how can I control what he does with my body

I will write him a note so he doesn't screw up my life

[Taki]

She may screw up my life

how can I keep up with this double life

yet she helps me in my weakness

which i return the favour

we need to figure how to work things out, A compromise perhaps.

What about leaving her a message of instruction

THE MOVIE PLOT

Over time they grew closer and more familiar about themselves, their daily life, friends and family. [Mitsuha] is from a small town Hida in Japan. She is an high school girl.

[Taki] is from the big city of Tokyo in Japan . He is also in high school. They both lived world apart.

They communicated through[Mitsuha's] notepad and on [Taki's] phone to chat with each other and keep tabs on what they have been up to. She helped him to develop a relationship with his coworker Miki

He helped her to get popular in school.

He wakes up in Mitsuha's body, it was the day of the kuchikamizake alcohol ritual which he as her accompanied her grandmother and sister at the shrine on a mountaintop outside the town. The shrine is believed to represent the body of the village guardian god who rules human experiences and connections. Mitsuha's latest note tells Taki about a comet expected to pass Earth on the day of her town festival.

[Taki] had a bad date with Miki, He needed [Mitsuha's] help.

he noticed, he began to loose memory of her and could not reconnect with her.

He could not swap bodies with her. He woke up still in his own body. Prior to now, he could have given anything to stop the swap. However, he has gotten attached to her that he is desperate to reconnect with her.

The only way to do this is to visit her hometown. Already, his memories of her were fading so he had no recollection of the name of the town.

Also, writings and discussions they had on his phone also faded.

His search led him to Hida where he met a restaurant owner who recognized the town from [Taki's] sketch and tells him it was destroyed by a fragment of the comet. Taki finds Mitsuha's name in the records of fatalities and discovers the date of the disaster. He realizes their timelines were separated by three years.

he remembered the kuchikamizake ritual at the shrine. he proceeded there and there it was. all he add to do was drink it with hopes to reconnect with her body and warn her of the comet strike.

He wakes in her body on the morning of the town festival and reveals his identity to Mitsuha's grandmother, who tells him the body switching is part of the Miyamizu family history as caretakers of the shrine. He convinces Mitsuha's friends Tessie and Sayakato help evacuate the village by cutting the power and broadcasting a false emergency alert. He realizes that Mitsuha must be in his body at the shrine and goes back to find her.

She wakes up in [Taki's] body at the shrine. they could sense there presence at the instance. Calling out for attention. They could hear there voices but could not seem to find each other, they are separated by three years.

However, when twilight falls, they swapped back to their own bodies and met. they had a little widow of opportunity to communicate. They attempted to write each other's names on their hands so they will remember each other, but twilight passes and [Mitsuha] disappears before she can write hers.

As Mitsuha races back to town, her memories of Taki start to fade. Tessie tells Mitsuha to convince her estranged father, the mayor of Itomori, to evacuate the town. Running to her father's office to confront him about evacuation, Mitsuha realizes that Taki wrote "I love you" on her hand instead of his name. The comet piece crashes to Earth, destroying Itomori. Taki wakes up in the morning of his own time, not remembering anything.

Five years later

[Taki] became a graduate in Architecture in search of job but had no luck with getting any. He feels that there is something important missing in his life but can't figure it out. Until he learns that the inhabitants of Itomori (Hida region) survived the disaster. He saw two known faces Tessie and Sayaka in a Tokyo restaurant, now engaged, but cannot identify them.

Mitsuah as alsom moved to the city. They pass by each other but never got to see to recognize one another. they always felt each others presence.

One very day, [Taki ]and [Mitsuha] were at a train station heading towards different directions. They got into separate trains minding there business until their trains draw parallel and they recognized each other. They disembark and search for one another, finally meeting on a staircase.

With a long glance they starred at each other. With a mutual feeling of knowing each other.

In sync, they asked for their names.

Kimi No Nawa is probably the anime movie I've watched! All my tears were flowing at some point of the movie. It was a masterpiece, and the way you shared this is one as well. Thanks!
