I didn't have the opportunity to watch "The Lost City" at the cinema, but that didn't stop me from watching it tonight on my new projector. Thinking, now this is must-watch movie - Bullock is on it I can hardly say anything good about the film. It was the first cliché film of 2022. Even the movie itself was cliche. An author who has "adventures just like out of his book". A complete cliché. Also, seeing the poster of the film, we know that we are talking here, about a romantic action-comedy. The two "sex" symbols of romantic comedies - are Tatum and Bullock. Tatum - Step Up, Bullock - The House on the Lake, Miss Congeniality. Seeing such an elite cast, one expects the plot, to be interesting, but apparently Hollywood is out of ideas and they have done this before. A cast of the most famous actors of the period, in a film that is not worth even a penny at the box office - Movie 43. The difference in the plots is different, but choosing famous actors is not. However, back to the cliché plot and the lack of originality. There are a lot of similar movies, but right now I think of one, one that still stays in my mind, not only because of the plot or cast but the acting it self, the feelings that are infused in the very meaning of the film - Nim's Island. Watch the movie, you will notice the strong similarities with "The Lost City". Yes, it's not a comedy, but let's be honest, this one is not either. There are a few comedy scenes, but even they are not as comical as we have seen in other films of the cast. Here is a small spoiler, the scene in which the hero of Tatum is naked because of leeches - "The proposal" movie with Bullock, again a romantic comedy, in which there is a similar scene. The two main actors clash naked. Yes, it's fun, but a movie can't rely only on comedy scenes. It must make sense so when you watch, to be there with the actors, to experience their emotions, but here these things are completely absent. If a woman loses her husband, she will not just sit and drink a glass of wine. She will dream to make her and her husband's dream come true or shed just a tear. Yes, everyone experiences grief differently. This is the real meaning of a movie. To see exactly these emotions to show the viewer - Hey and we on the screen, we are people just like you. In today's cinema, these things are quite rare. Equivalent to everything that is almost happening here is the movie "Six Days, Seven Nights" - scene with the leeches, lost in the jungle, romance, comedy. And the clichés don't stop there - we see two famous actors, but they are soo 2000, so why not add for the new generation someone, someone worthy, to make us money, with whatever nonsense we create. Daniel Radcliffe. If he continues to participate in such films, not only will he not evolve as an actor, but he will be known all over the world just as Harry Potter. Actors need to be known, not from just one role, but at least a few or more. The others from the cast, at least have that behind them. Countless roles they have played and to shine. Instead, from the familiar face we all grew up with, and we saw how he fought for his friends and his life, he is degraded with poorly chosen roles. Overall, however, the idea of the film itself was interesting. Includes history, hints at romance, drama, there is action, and "comedy". If they only develop the story more. If you're a fan of the cast like me, watch it, I hope at least you will like it. Everyone has the right to an opinion after all and choices of movies.
