When a movie has a good script, a good plot, great characters, and above all, a unique concept, it will leave viewers thinking about it long after the credits roll—just as is the case with the movie A Good Boy. The story here is quite powerful and isn’t for everyone, simply because it follows a young man whose life revolves around partying, drugs, and violence. However, everything changes when he is locked up and controlled by a couple. From that point on, the premise becomes very intriguing because nothing turns out the way you’d expect, leading us to ask: “Can he change his lifestyle?” Does he need to be locked up to understand? And many other questions that make it all feel like a cycle.
Cuando una película cuanta con un buen guion, buena trama, grandes personajes y sobre todo con una idea que sea única eso va a lograr que uno como espectador no deje de pensar en dicha producción, tal como ocurre en la película Un buen chico. Aquí la historia es bastante fuerte y nos sería para todo el público, por el mismo hecho de ver a un joven que su vida se basa en fiesta, drogas, violencia, sin embargo, todo cambia cuando es encerrado y controlado por una pareja, a partir de allí la idea es muy interesante puesto nada será como uno se lo imagina y es allí donde nos lleva a preguntarnos ¿Podrá cambiar su estilo de vida? ¿Necesita estar encerrado para poder entender?, y muchas otras que hace todo sea un ciclo.

That’s why everything changes when he’s locked up—it creates fear and tension, and above all, the line between good and evil becomes blurred, since everyone has something to hide, something to justify, and, above all, a very particular idea of what it means to do the right thing.
The scenes in this film are very well crafted, and even though practically everything takes place in a house, it adds an extra layer of excitement—because instead of being a safe, familiar place, it ends up becoming a kind of prison, thus kicking off the film’s real game. Furthermore, the story works very well as a psychological thriller that combines family, violence, upbringing, and redemption—elements that could have been explored much more deeply—which is why, with every passing second, the film shifts and unfolds in new ways.
Then there’s the family, which turns everything upside down, since its characters can be unsettling—with personalities no one expects—and are even capable of torture, all while their love continues to grow. Meanwhile, the young man’s story is utterly compelling and allows us to witness a transformation—not because it’s the typical redemption story, but because it constantly forces us to ask ourselves whether he’s truly changing or simply learning to survive within the rules others have imposed on him.
Lo que más se destaca es la manera como el personaje se desarrolla, puesto que en un principio es esa clase de persona que nadie quiere, es impulsivo y a la vez la película hace ese llamado de lo que está haciendo está mal y que ninguna persona joven debería pasar por algo como eso. Por eso todo cambia cuando es encerrado, ya que se crea ese miedo, tensión y sobre todo puede llegar ser lo mismo entre lo bueno y lo malo, puesto que todos tienen algo que esconder, algo que justificar y, sobre todo, una idea bastante particular de lo que significa hacer lo correcto.
Las escenas de esta película están muy bien trabajadas y a pesar de que prácticamente todo es en una casa, le da un toque más emocionante, ya que en vez de ser un lugar seguro y familiar termina convirtiéndose en una especie de prisión, logrando así que comience el verdadero juego de esta película. Además, la historia funciona muy bien como un thriller psicológico que combina la familia, la violencia, la educación y la redención que podrían haber dado mucho, por eso cada segundo la película todo cambia y avanza distinto.
También está la familia, la cual hace que todo cambie, puestos que sus personajes pueden resultar inquietantes con una personalidad que nadie se los espera, además capaces de cometer tortura, mientras que su amor sigue creciendo. Mientras que la del joven es totalmente interesante y de lograr apreciar un cambio, puesto que no es la típica historia de redención, sino porque constantemente nos obliga a preguntarnos si realmente está cambiando o simplemente está aprendiendo a sobrevivir dentro de las reglas que otros le han impuesto.
