When a series premieres on Netflix, as a viewer, you’re looking for something different—something that, when you watch the first episode, leaves you intrigued about what will happen next. Many series in recent years have achieved this, and that’s exactly what happened with The Madness. This is one of those series packed with action, chases, and conspiracies; however, as the story unfolds, everything changes, revealing that all of us in this life are driven by manipulation and fear—especially when something bad happens, and even more so when we’re suspected of a crime.

Cuando se estrena una serie en Netflix, uno como espectador busca algo distinto y cuando uno mire el primer episodio poder quedar con la intriga de saber que pasará y muchas series en estos últimos años lo han conseguido y eso fue lo que ocurrió con la serie The Madness. Esta es una de esas series llenas de acción, de persecuciones y conspiraciones, sin embargo, a medida que se va desarrollando todo va cambiando y demuestra que todas las personas en esta vida vivimos de la manipulación y el miedo, cuando se trata de algo malo y más aún al ser un sospechoso de un crimen.

The series consists of a single season and follows the life of Muncie Daniels, who decides to take a break; however, everything changes when a dead body is found, leading us to wonder: How did that happen? Will they believe the truth? And many other questions that come to mind. This is a great concept, as the series builds up a good pace, and episode after episode, pieces of the puzzle are revealed so that by the end, the whole picture comes together. But doubt, uncertainty, and fear also creep in, since being in a situation like that is far from easy—especially when lives are at stake.

The plot moves forward, and a full-fledged investigation unfolds; however, there’s a lot of filler and lengthy dialogue, which slows things down—though there’s always a new twist that shifts the entire pace. Another highlight of this series is Colman Domingo’s performance. He plays a compelling character with a strong personality, but one who is falling apart on the inside; throughout the series, he comes across as confused, exhausted, and making decisions just to get by.

La serie cuenta con una sola temporada y nos presenta la vida de Muncie Daniels quien decide tomarse un descanso, sin embargo, todo cambia cuando se encuentra un cadáver y eso nos lleva a preguntarnos ¿Cómo apareció eso?, ¿Podrán creer la verdad? Y muchas otras cosas que se piensa. Esta es una gran idea, ya que la serie va tomando un buen ritmo y a la vez episodio tras episodio se puede ir descubriendo piezas para que al final ese rompecabezas pueda armarse, pero también aparece la duda, la incertidumbre y el miedo, puesto que estar en una situación como esa no es nada fácil y más aún cuando la vida está en riesgo.

La trama avanza, se crea toda una investigación, sin embargo, cuenta con mucho relleno, diálogos extensos y eso hace que se vuelva lenta, aunque siempre sale un nuevo giro y cambia todo el ritmo. Otras de las cosas valiosas de esta serie es la actuación de Colman Domingo, siendo un personaje muy bueno con una personalidad fuerte, pero que por dentro se está destruyendo, como también a lo largo de la serie se nota confundido, cansado y tomando decisiones para poder salir adelante.

I really liked the outcome of this season of The Madness, which has so much more to offer and has the potential to take the thriller genre to new heights. While the tension remains constant, the series conveys a rather profound message and invites us to reflect on trust, our own capabilities, and just how fragile the truth can be when fear begins to take over everything. So if you’re looking for a show full of mystery, conspiracies, and suspense, this series will be perfect for you.

Me gusto mucho el resultado de esta serie de The Madness, donde la serie tiene mucho más para dar y llevar este género de thriller a la cima, ya que se mantiene corta la tensión, sin embargo, cuenta con un mensaje bastante profundo y nos invita a reflexionar sobre la confianza, la capacidad que uno puede tener y lo frágil que puede ser la verdad cuando el miedo comienza a dominarlo todo. Por eso si buscas una producción llena de misterio, conspiraciones y tensión, esta serie será perfectamente para ti.
