I'm not a fan of manga or anime, and it's not because I don't like it, but because I've never spent time exploring this wonderful and wide world that I consider an art of animation. The only series I've been able to watch so far include Inuyasha, Pokemon, Seilor Moon, Candy Candy, and Heidi. But recently I found out about an Oscar-winning Japanese animated film, something that was undoubtedly worth seeing, but before knowing this I was hearing for a long time about a famous character called Chihiro that I have come to talk about today and that's why I was encouraged to see your movie SPIRITED JOURNEY, what made me very curious was to know why people liked this story so much, something that today you will be able to discover together with me in case you don't want to see the full movie, although I recommend it if you want to see something different.

Sinopsis/Synopsis
Chihiro is a girl who together with her parents move to a new place, and on the way to this new home they take a shortcut which ends up taking them to a parallel world full of spirits from which Chihiro must escape safe and sound with her parents.

¿De qué trata?/What is it about?
-
After going through a tunnel and arriving at a kind of hidden town, Chihiro's parents explore the place and arrive at a food stall, where they see a large banquet of food and decide to help themselves even though there was no one in the place to help them. to attend, something to which Chihiro categorically refuses because the place caused her enough terror, only for a strange reason her parents felt calm despite the fact that there was not a person in the place apart from them.

-
Chihiro goes to explore the place while her parents are fed, and she meets a mysterious boy named Haku who warns her that she must leave the place, when Chihiro returns to look for her parents she discovers that they have become big pigs and she is not there. He knows what to do, this is when the madness breaks out for Chihiro, he will have to find a way to rescue his parents alive and get out of that place at all costs.

Mi opinión/My opinion
-
When I decided to see the movie I didn't know what to expect, I knew it was very famous because I had seen a character from the movie in different marketing products, they even gave me a video with a summary of the whole story but I didn't want to see it so as not to ruin the plot since I had decided to see it completely to have my own opinion of the film because I love being able to have arguments and know a little about everything when talking with people who love this genre. I can certainly say that it exceeded my expectations in many ways.
-
Its creator Miyazaki has incredible creativity when creating such an original story that is full of many details and settings as well done as the variety of characters within the plot, the story has a message that works as a social critic and adapts very well to the current society of consumerism and the constant selfish need to satisfy our needs without thinking about others, this is reflected in the scene where Chihiro's parents are turned into pigs after having eaten what would be the food to receive the mysterious guests of that place.
-
This strange town hides a bathhouse that is dominated by an evil witch named Yubaba who is in charge of managing this space that receives multiple spirits that go to rest and rest in exchange for receiving attention, food and special baths. Miyazaki's incredible imagination creates mystical characters so original and out of the ordinary that it sends a little chills down your spine.

-
Among the characters we can find Yubaba, an old woman with a huge head and body with a rather terrifying appearance, we have her servants that are 3 rolling heads, Haku, a child who is capable of turning into a dragon, Kamaji, a kind of spider-man with six arms, and men with enormous bodies and frog faces, also not counting the number of spirits with strange appearances such as the God of the river or the faceless

Trama/Plot
-
As for the plot, if you don't know what the story is about, as it happened to me, you will feel a little lost at the beginning, Chihiro tries to survive with the help of Hoku, a human-looking boy who lives in this place that does not accept humans. , Chihiro lives constantly terrified of being surrounded by extravagant beings and so creepy that you would think they would eat you in one bite because of their enormous size, and she will have to convince the witch Yubaba to give her a job in this place so that she does not end up turned into a Pig since the person who does not work ends up becoming food for the spirits.

-
Chihiro will have to do things that she had never done, she goes from being a scared girl to achieving things that she would never have imagined, like bathing a pestilent entity that is full of mud and mud by herself, she will show the value of having a good heart, the importance of generosity, regardless of whether he should give others the only thing that would help his parents return to normality, all for the good of other people such as his friend Haku or the faceless being, in addition to demonstrating how little interest he had in the gold offered to him by one of the spirits and which drove all the bathhouse workers including Yubaba crazy. Here we can see the development that Chihiro's character has and how as the plot progresses she grows within the story.
-
And after doing some research, I was surprised to find out that it was one of the highest grossing animations of the time, being up to that time the only animated film drawn by hand and winner of a well-deserved Oscar, which undoubtedly opened the door 20 years ago. to the world of anime internationally. It is a film that attracts so much attention that even my four-year-old daughter ended up watching it with me because she was impressed by each of the characters in the story.

-
And the inspiration that its creator Miyazaki had when writing this wonderful script is a sample of his incredible imagination and creativity, since we are talking about a work that was based on the history of Japanese mythology, and in real places such as the houses of baths that Miyazaki remembers from his childhood as a mysterious place, in addition to adding part of the belief that his grandparents had about spirits, since it is well known that in past times many believed in spiritual beings such as gods of air, water, sun, etc.
