Yesterday I was very excited when reading that Netflix released a new horror series. Since it didn't have many reviews on imdb & rottentomatoes, I decided to also check Twitter to see what people were saying and it seemed like a very attractive production.
I am 3 episodes in and it is indeed a good series, however instead of horror I think this series is more about mystery. There is a paranormal element and there are some scenes that could be categorized as horror, so maybe I am kind of desensitized after being a horror fan for so many years, but I remember watching The Haunting of Hill House and the first episodes were great with a real horror atmosphere, Marianne on the other hand is much softer which is why I find it funny when Netflix says "it's best watched with company and locked doors":
I will watch the entire season and again, I like it, but it shouldn't be described as the new "The Haunting of Hill House" nor as a really scary series because it is not like that. The plot can be interesting for some people and the production is of acceptable quality.
