In questo secondo capitolo della saga l'inizio è scoppiettante. Se non avete visto questa stagione fermate la lettura già da subito perché per forza di cose raccontando la trama incorrerò nello spoilerare, se volete però incuriosirvi soltanto a riguardo leggete il trafiletto corsivo in mezzo alle due frecce qui sotto. Ragnar diventato Conte dopo aver ucciso in un duello il Conte Haraldson si era precedentemente dato da fare con la principessa Aslaug, ma nello scorso post tutto ciò non ve l'ho detto per non rovinarvi la sorpresa. Si assiste alla guerra tra Rolled il fratello Ragnar, il primo, geloso del successo ottenuto dal fratellino minore si alle con il Conte Borg e si mette contro i suoi ex compagni di avventure, sconfitto e riaccettato grazie a Ragnar non verrà più molto amato dal suo popolo dopo aver scannato una moltitudine spropositata di ex-compagni di armi. Arriva così a sorpresa la principessa Aslaug arriva nello jarldom di Ragnar, cioè il villaggio da lui governato, ed è incinta, diciamo che la moglie Lagherta non la prende proprio benissimo e se la fugge con il figlio Bjorn. C'è poi un salto temporale di quattro anni e ci si trova con Ragnar che raggiunge il Wessex e fa così la conoscenza di Re Ecbert di cui diventerà un grande amico, se così li possiamo definire. Athelstan intanto da prete sminchiatello è diventato un guerriero grazie a Ragnar che se l'è portato a casa e l'ha forgiato per benino. Quest'ultimo si unisce all'orda di Vichinghi e li accompagna in battaglia ma attirerà la curiosità di Re Ecbert che gli slava la vita quando sta per essere crocefisso dai suoi militari e se ne innamora. Non immaginate niente di strano è soltanto amore figurato.
Mentre Ragnar se la diverte a razziare il suo villaggio viene conquistato dal Conte Borg perché il fratello Rollo rimasto a casa è troppo impegnato a bere come una spugna e perde il dominio della città. Nel frattempo Aslaug sforna bambini a go-go e scappa dal villaggio. Naturalmente il nostro epicissimo Ragnar non sta a guardare e al suo ritorno dopo aver preso mazzate nel Wessex si riprende ciò che è suo e anche di più, perchè Re Horik gli sta sulle scatole e lo uccide in allegria perché fa' troppo il furbetto alleandosi con Re Aelle di Northumbria. Tutto ciò grazie al folle Floki che si fa dei numeri pazzeschi e diventa pure papà!
Questa pseudo-recensione voleva sdrammatizzare un po' una serie che non è sicuramente pesante nonostante le scene non siano adatte ad un pubblico non adulto. Scene di guerra a manetta e sangue ovunque ma non troppo esagerate, anche nella scena dell scena dell'esecuzione dell'aquila di sangue (una presunta tortura dell'epoca) non scendendo troppo nei particolare. Lascia comunque tanto spazio all'immaginazione anche nelle scene di sesso mai estreme, punto nettamente a favore della serie che non diventa quasi mai banale. L'ha seguita anche la mia ragazza che non è prpprio la tipa adatta alle scene violente e devo dire che chiunque l'abbia guardata non mi ha mai riferito che non gli sia piaciuta, una garanzia insomma!

We are witnessing the war between the two brothers Rollo and Ragnar, the first, jealous of the success achieved by his younger brother is now friend with the Jarl Borg and puts himself against his companions of adventures, defeated and re-admitted thanks to Ragnar will not be much loved by his people after having slaughtered a lot of former comrades in arms. This pseudo-review wanted to play little bit with a series that is certainly have a lot of heavy scenes that are not suitable for a non-adult audience. A lot of war scenes and blood everywhere but not too exaggerated, even during the scene of the execution of the eagle of blood (a presumed era's torture) does not go too much in detail. However, leaves plenty of space to the imagination even in sex scenes never extreme, a big plus of the series that almost never becomes boring. It was also followed by my girlfriend who is not the right girl for violent scenes and I must say that anyone who has looked at me has never reported that he did not like it, a sort of guarantee!
