Sometimes it is not easy to find a series that really excites us or we really like. Today there are many to choose from and perhaps for this reason the choice is not always easy. We can be guided by reviews, recommendations or suggestions from people we know, or simply choose one almost at random, just by reading the title.
So I found a wonderful TV show in Amazon Prime Video, probably the best on this platform. Because if there is a seriesthat I really liked, that is "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" The title already says a lot.
It doesn't say everything. It does not tell us that it is about the life of a nice girl with a lot of spirit and motivation in the 50s, an elegant girl with wonderful dresses who one day decides to go her way, to do what she really likes no matter what anyone thinks. others, including his family, and that is being a comedian, or doing stand-up comedy in front of the public. Midge Maisel wanted to be an artist.
She ends her life corseted from an upper-class Jewish family in New York, she continues in that world while at night she begins to tell jokes in seedy dives. But she keeps going, she continues to be supported by her manager, her best friend from then, for life... and she really helps her take her further.
This is how the series develops, between acid, funny and brainy monologues, and life in those past decades, where the wonderful dresses of Mrs. Maisel stand out, of all the other women, the nice decorations of the houses, the smart and ingenious way of speaking of many characters. But at the same time in the TV show there is absurdity, madness and chaos.
You don't know what is going to happen, you don't know where our protagonist will go, who she will meet, where she will act and what great monologues we will have the pleasure of listening to.
Because everything is mixed in a delicious way, divorced families that are still families, religious traditions and spicy dialogues, thugs and department store clerks. The first television shows, American military bases, colorful hotels, glamor and a lot of charm.
Also mentioning her husband or ex-husband, her children and her wonderful parents who will also be an important part, I have loved those crazy characters, elegant but peculiar and their fantastic delirious dialogues.
An eclectic combination where our marvelous Mrs. Maisel undoubtedly stands out, whom we see more confident in each season, despite bumps and obstacles. But also the other great protagonist is her manager Susie Myerson, a strange, charismatic and strong woman in a world of men who fights for her client, but above all her friend, a different but authentic friendship.
We watch this TV show where she fights for her dream, both (manager too) fight actually. This TV show is a dream.
Everything is original, beautiful, funny and intense. A marvelous series that makes you laugh, a lot, but also enjoy the settings and lights, with decorated houses, with beautiful dresses in fabulous iconic fashion. A TV show loaded with intellectuality, verbiage, eccentricity, elegance, but also a lot of emotion.
The series shows us the entire trajectory, especially in its last season, we are discovering much more about these adorable characters and we end up smiling, clapping and getting very moved with the end of this magnificent, magic and marvelous TV show.
