Yu Yu Hakusho is an anime/manga of the classics and served as inspiration for another of the most emblematic mangas of Shonen Jump: Bleach, since these two mangas base their plot on a spiritual world, and although many people criticized Bleach at first because of the great similarities it had with Yu Yu Hakusho, over time Bleach took its own path and formed a very cool manga (until its decline). Yu Yu Hakusho was created by Yoshihiro Togashi, the same creator of the manga Hunter X Hunter, another excellent one and one of the best manga of all times, but unfortunately it is currently on hiatus. It has been many times that Hunter X Hunter has entered Hiatus and it is a pity because the history of this manga is so long and has so many things to show for it that it is sad that it is not continued.

But today I will not talk about Hunter X Hunter, I will do that in a post dedicated to that wonderful manga, today I will talk about a fighting video game based on the manga Yu Yu Hakusho, unfortunately this new one never left Japan, so it doesn't have an English translation, the game is only in Japanese, but being a fighting game, that is not so important, although there is a version that was released in Brazil, whose name is Yu Yu Hakusho: Sunset Fighters, that translates the whole game to that language, so at least, this way you can understand a little more the options and menus of the game.

I discovered this game, Yu Yu Hakusho: Makyō Tōitsusen, when one day I downloaded a Mega Drive game pack and inside the folder was, although it was the Japanese version, even so, being a fighting game, in which the story is not so important, because also, due to the few scenes that the game has, it has little relationship with the manga/anime.

I spent a few hours playing and it's really quite fun to play with some of your favorite manga characters, the game was able to recreate the characters very well with respect to their anime counterparts, as well as their moves and powers. There are several characters to choose from, including the main characters and some secondary characters that were an important part of the main story of the manga.

The game has several game modes, the classic story mode in which we will choose a character of our preference and we will make him fight with certain characters and as we advance we will be shown a story according to the character we have chosen. It also has a mode in which we will fight a "all against all", being able to fight on screen with a maximum of 4 characters. The classic cooperative mode, in which the AI of the game or a friend will be our fighting partner. As well as the practice mode to, logically, practice the skills and combos of the characters and the classic 1vs1 mode. It's a pretty fun game, it looks pretty good by today's standards and a game that is part of one of the best manga/anime of its kind.
