Saludos, amantes del séptimo arte y del entretenimiento, finalmente ha terminado la espera. El pasado 22 de febrero, la plataforma de streaming Netflix, estrenó el tan deseado live -action de "Avatar: La leyenda de Aang". Como lo habían prometido tras lanzar su llamativo tráiler, para los que siempre esperamos degustar de buen entretenimiento, marcaría una cita en el calendario. Pudiéramos fácilmente hacernos algunas interrogantes sobre esta nueva serie de ocho episodios. ¿Acaso logrará llegar a repetir, e incluso superar el éxito alcanzado con el lanzamiento de otro live -action como "One Piece"?

En la modesta opinión de este seguidor, estimo que si pudiera ser el caso. Y no es que lo diga a la ligera, ni mucho menos, ni siquiera dejo que se me nuble la razón con cualquier signo de fanatismo por la serie. Como mismo también pudiera surgir otra clásica pregunta: ¿habrá una segunda temporada? Todas estas preguntas las responderán a las claras, la aceptación del público por este nuevo material. La que, según los estándares de ausencias, va logrando posicionarse entre uno de los contenidos más visitados en Netflix.
Pero que les parece si hacemos un poco de historia, busquemos que se esconde detrás de este éxito rotundo. Fue en el 2005 cuando se estrenó una de las series animadas que, en mi opinión personal, pondría desde su comienzo el techo bien alto con respecto a las demás. "Avatar: La Leyenda de Aang" fue un impacto inminente, con toda esta espectacular creativa historia.
Donde sus personajes podían dominar uno de los 4 elementos naturales haciendo uso de técnicas marciales. Pero solo una persona podía dominar todos estos elementos a la vez, "El Avatar". Es acá donde entra el personaje estrella de la serie, que como tal es el encargado de mantener la armonía entre las naciones, así como ser el puente entre el mundo físico y el espiritual.
Este recién estrenado material audiovisual de Netflix, no fue el primer intento de llevar esta popular serie animada al cine. En el 2010, la película: "El Último maestro del aire", cinta que dirigiera M. Night Shyamalan, protagonizada por Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, Jackson Rathbone y Dev Patel. Lastimosamente, no puedo contar con la dicha de una buena crítica, ni aceptación de los seguidores de la serie animada, motivo por lo que no hubo más adaptaciones.
Recrear una serie tan espectacular como "Avatar: La leyenda de Aang", de seguro no es tarea fácil. Con tantas escenas inimaginables, de tanta acción, efectos especiales, así como paisajes exóticos, debe haber costado mucho dinero. Se estima que la producción se gastó unos 15 millones de dólares por capítulo, llegando a un estimado de 120 millones de dólares por la temporada completa.
Si tuviera que elegir en estos momentos, quedarme con una de las versiones que le han hecho a esta historia, que considero todo un clásico de nuestras series favoritas. Sin temor a equivocarme, escogería por obvias razones el dibujo animado, también debido a que siempre seré un niño empedernido mirando caricaturas. Aunque debo agregar que este live-action que nos ofrece Netflix estuvo muy bien trabajado.
Prácticamente, manteniendo la fidelidad de la historia del original, algo que se agradece por parte de los fans del animado. Y que aunque pueda parecer algo diferente, ya que uno siempre espera que el cine nos sorprenda con toda su magia, la maravillosa evolución gráfica de las nuevas tecnologías pueden lograr hasta lo imposible. En lo personal, puedo decir que me gustó mucho el resultado alcanzado. Con esta nueva entrega, Netflix asegura un buen comienzo de año, así como su segundo tiro al blanco luego de "One Piece".
Del casting de la serie como tal no tengo quejas, pues todos, desde su punto de vista actoral, logran compartirnos el mensaje de sus personajes. Y qué decir de los personajes fantásticos, bastante fieles a la versión original. Estuve disfrutando de cada episodio de esta nueva entrega, la que por supuesto les recomiendo para consumir en sus momentos libres, si son de los que una buena aventura los complace.

The one that, according to the standards of absences, is positioning itself among one of the most visited contents on Netflix.
But what do you think if we make a little history, let's look for what is hidden behind this resounding success. It was in 2005 when one of the animated series that, in my personal opinion, would set the bar high from the beginning with respect to the rest, was released. I have no complaints about the casting of the series as such, since all of them, from their acting point of view, manage to share the message of their characters. And what to say about the fantastic characters, quite faithful to the original version. I was enjoying every episode of this new installment, which of course I recommend you to consume in your free time, if you are one of those who enjoy a good adventure.
