Source I believe this is one of those series that no matter how perfect they are its still going to be heavily criticize, considering there are sixty one episodes on the animated series I find hard they can put in everything into two or three eight episode seasons, after watching the first episode I find it very entertaining and could give it a solid 7.5/10 in coincidence with what the Audience has score on RTT.

Now days its great to watch this live action series adaptations of animated series because finally the technology is here to make it possible, I'm really hoping a brave enough studio can put up a Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya live action series as good as Avatar The Last Air Bender. The cast from the series is really transmitting similar vibes to the animated series, characters like Aang, Sokka, Katara, Zuko are in my opinion very close to what the OG series is, specially Sokka always skeptic about others, the look he gives everyone when he doesn't trust what they saying or doubt, this are the basics to make this a good series besides CGI has been on point, would like to see more light into the face of Appa but thats hard too because he has so much hair, the action scenes has also been great so far with the opening fight between an Earth Bender and a couple of Fire Nation Guards (Fire Benders).

As I mention above the opening of the series is just awesome, a fight scene between an Earth Bender who is no chump, a very skilled one against more than three Fire Nation Guards (Fire Benders), he almost took them down but seem like Earth Attacks take more effort and time besides he was hurt already, the Earth Bender is trying to escape with a message to his nation, they are about to be attack by Ozai, Fire Lord King of the Fire Nation; he knows the next Avatar is an Air Bender and he wanted the less possible defenses up there so he poker face an attack to the Earth Nation.

Aang, the youngest Air Master ever in history, the tattoos he has represent he is an Air Bender Master but he is still too young, just a kid, he is not part of the Monks Council, he lacks experience, judgement, he is just a kid that didn't ask for any of this but still he has to be responsible of his great powers, Monks know this and want him to start his training on the other three bending styles.

I love the scene when Monk Gyatso, Aang's friend and master; talks to him about his responsibilities as the next Avatar, Gordon Cormier playing Aang did such a wonderful job at expressing feelings of distress, happiness, and sadness all in a single scene and still look as an innocent kid who just want to have fun but also has to rapidly grow up to keep up with his responsibility as The Avatar.

Ozai was dead set to destroy the Air Benders attempting to kill The Avatar while he still very young, Ozai is very powerfull, on this attack none of the Air Benders were able to stand in a fight with him, even Aang's Master was killed by Ozai himself, they burn everything to the ground, lucky for Aang he was very far from there. I cant imagine WHY he would take Appa to flight over the sea during a storm? I know nothing about the lore of Avater since I never finish the animated series, did finish Korra because was watching it with my wife. Aang and Appa got trap by a huge wave and went down, its here when Aang goes into a trance stage and the spirit of the Avatar comes out, creates a big ice sphere around them as a last resource to survive, Aang and Appa remain on this ice sphere for the next 100 years.

I'm not going to go through the entire episode, there still much more about it but trying to cover the basics that I really like and the events that start almost everything from now on, fast forward about 100 years after Aang and Appa fall, show up Katara probably the last Water Bender and her brother Sokka, after the fire nation didn't find the Avatar they went through all the other two nations looking for him and in the case of the Water Nation they make sure there were no more Water Benders. Sokka worry for her sister because of her powers, accidentally while going fishing they find Aang ice sphere, Katara was using her powers to bring in the canoe that was taken by the current, her powers probably wake the Avatar Spirit, making Aang get out of the sphere but still in trance.

Prince Zuko has been banned by his father from the fire nation until he comes back with the Avatar, he departed on fire nation ship with his uncle as escort, going around the world looking for the Avatar and they have finally found him, probably by accident.

After Aang wakes up and found Appa, everyone at the village gather into the town hall and the Elder tells the story of how the Avatar vanish many years ago when the world most need it during the massive Fire Nation Attack, how basically they took over the world and how most people live in fear, how the Air Temple was destroy by the Fire Nation and Aang has probably been on the ice for over 100 years.
From here starts Aang new journey at trying to become the Avatar, master the other three bending styles but now that Zuko has discover him it wont bee too easy to be out of his radar, Fire Nation is on high alert knowing Aang will probably travel to contact other style benders? is that the right term?
Everything about the series looks great to me, I repeat LOOK; because as usual I don't read books and I don't know the lore or core story of Aang besides what I remember form the animated series, I'm sure some events will be alter to keep the viewers engage although I remember seen a few comments on a blog post that some of the characters would also be alter but so far I don't see anything that could be a problem for some one who has never see or knew about Avatar, also would like to mention that if you have never seen any of the animated series you don't need to in order to enjoy this series. I was looking up information about this live action series and couldn't find if this is a mini series, I doubt because of how long the story is or if this is an actual series because it would be a shame if it doesn't have at least two more seasons. There are so many tv series right now that I'm still watching and most are still running that its hard to keep up with everything so some of my posts might be delay but will still put them out.
