"Childhood memories are the treasures of yesterday" (Credits to whom it may concern)

Every Monday was the same procedure: Wait for 8 at night, tune in to the Venezuelan Channel "RCTV" and watch the longest-running program of Venezuelan comedy and humor: "RADIO ROCHELA" (The only Venezuelan program, Guinness Record as the comedy show, with the most air time in the world) This was something that happened in most Venezuelan families for years and years. So many characters, sketches, and experiences.

One of the main problems in Venezuela, in the media at that time, was to see so many programs of different types: Comedy, Novelas, Unitarios, National Series and we only saw four open signal channels. That was a war declared by the tuning of an entire country, and therefore, the good quality that we observed of those times, even; it reached international latitudes, where today, today; they continue to be broadcast as a kind of vintage classics from the "GOLDEN AGE OF VENEZUELAN TELEVISION PROGRAMS"

Analog color televisions were not very advanced in terms of their correct operation in image and sound. It was always a constant struggle with that archaic device, that of capturing signals to see with higher quality and sharpness.

It was to mount ourselves on the roof of the house, move the rudimentary antennas and yell at a relative who was in the room to find out how we "fixed" the signals that reached us.

It was the beginning of the nineties of the last century. Cable TV or satellite TV? Internet? Not even a sign that they came to my town. The newest thing was to have a satellite dish and that was something for "Upper Class" Not everyone could have the luxury of paying for a tremendous antenna that was almost the size of your residence. antennas that were placed on top of the screen, buy small metal antennas that were placed on the roof or make antennas with metal objects such as clothespins or any object that could attract "Signals" to our homes.

How the signal of the channels worsened with the rain and sometimes, when the signal cleared it was very favorable, on one occasion we were able to capture international channels momentarily. In itself, television did not cease to surprise us even with those necessities of the weather.

RADIO ROCHELA:

RADIO ROCHELA:

At the beginning of this publication I was talking about that, we broke up and started talking about other things (something inevitable when evoking good memories) RADIO ROCHELA, was the program we watched every Monday at 8 p.m. A comedy program with excellent messages, parodies and criticism full of good humor, especially with the social and political issues of those times...

One could see, for example, a parody of "Miss Venezuela" called: "Miss Chocozuela" and endless imitations, especially of the audiovisual production of Channel Two's eternal competition: Venevisión (Channel 4). Anything similar to today's reality? Iphone Vs Samsung, of course on a smaller scale, understanding that in those years we didn't even think we would have today's cell phone...

It was a kind of satire of the moment in which we lived and the events of the Venezuelan, in where even public figures and politicians took with good sense, maturity and often with grace and honor, their mention or imitation. Something that has changed today, due to the censorship and blockade by government entities that assume freedom of expression from another perspective and conception of those who see humor and comedy as enemies and not as allies that help develop the critical thinking of an entire people. It is a very controversial topic and thank goodness resources such as the internet or #hive give us the privilege of talking about it, in a proposal capable of allowing us to say "words" that other ears do not want or cannot be heard without undermining sanctions for part of third parties.

COMEDY ARTISTS:

Many names come to mind: Cayito Aponte, Norah Suaréz, Gladiusca Acosta, Carlos Rodríguez, Nené Quintana and Emilio Lovera... Among others. Of all these names, it stands out to speak of the last but in our hearts, still first: EMILIO LOVERA, a versatile artist who could do comedy and humor, imitating voices, personifying, creating and making art through his interpretations.

Someone who made laughter a lifestyle that led him to overcome personal problems and went beyond the screen, to win the affection of an entire town with his artistic passion. Trying to talk about this legend would lead to making several publications because there would be a lot of material that we could produce. Those were precious years until RCTV closed and RADIO ROCHELA went off the air. We never imagined that the best Venezuelan television channel, with the highest ratings at the time, would be replaced by another television proposal.

For a time, I lost the track of EMILIO LOVERA. With the subsequent passing of the years we find it with programs such as: Misión Emilio (Televen Production) After its airing; we lost track of him and we didn't know more about this character, only youtube.com did the miracle of being able to review so much of him, that we even got to know him more extensively... The internet also made it possible for us to get to know the characters in greater depth. former members of this program, and we also saw how these characters came to life on YouTube, through their podcasts, there we recognized EMILIO LOVERA for the second time and many times.

This space has several seasons, if I'm not mistaken more than five. What do we see there? The history of Venezuelan Television through stories with interesting touches of frankness and humor through its protagonists, we can listen to the experiences of Venezuelan actors and actresses such as: Franklín Virgüez, Carlota Sosa, Elba Escobar, Eileen Abad, Claudio Nazoa, Carlos Rodríguez, José Luis Rodriguez "El Puma", Guillermo Dávila among others.

It is worth recalling the remembrances of a country and its television over the course of the last fifty years, we are witnesses of so much history that we are transported to that Nostalgic Venezuela that little or nothing resembles the Venezuela of these times. Many of the interviewees tell their personal and artistic testimonies, with this way of maintaining validity, since most of them are migrants and spend the night in other countries. The exodus of Venezuelans around the world is undeniable, which has brought not only people, but also the involuntary export of our Venezuelan culture and idiosyncrasy.

It is there that Emilio Lovera shares so many experiences and experiences with his guests. summarizing so many years of experience in Venezuelan humor, in a frank conversation full of many stages and behind the scenes. This is an imaginary journey to being young. Because when one remembers; one lives again and it is a fact to REVIVE. Because as a good Venezuelan, loving the homeland from within, missing those who have left and understanding that Venezuela has changed, is something difficult to assimilate because of the fact that the times one lived were better.

We all live for a moment historical, it is the one that touches us by destinies of the creator, in these moments; These new generations will also have to remember their own experiences. Many of those who read this publication may not be alive for it, (including me) Many people sin by comparing what one lived and what young people live today, well; we do something that at the end of everything is difficult to make an analogy, they are incomparable issues. Our lives must be lived and through the good and sobering memories it is: "relived" The best memories one carries in the heart and is the summary of who we are. Until next time. God bless you...
