La Habitación (Room) es una película de drama dirigida por Lenny Abrahamson y escrita por Emma Donoghue basada en la novela homónima de la misma y protagonizada por Brie Larson y Jacob Tremblay.
Desde hace mucho he escuchado comentarios favorables acerca de esta película, razón por la cual me animé a verla. La sinopsis nos habla de cómo Jack (Jacob Tremblay) un niño de 5 años se refiere a la habitación donde nació como su mundo entero, pues desconoce que hay en el mundo exterior.

I've been hearing rave reviews about this film for a long time, which is why I decided to see it. The synopsis tells us how Jack (Jacob Tremblay) a 5 year old boy refers to the room where he was born as his whole world, since he doesn't know what's in the outside world.
La película empieza siendo narrada por Jack quien nos relata cómo llegó a la habitación, seguidamente, vemos a Joy Newsome (Brie Larson) y al pequeño siguiendo su rutina diaria desde que se levantan por la mañana hasta la hora de dormir. Jack es un niño alegre y soñador que cuenta con una personalidad que nos hace amarlo desde el inicio, cada día su madre inventa cosas nuevas para hacerlo feliz, le entrega todo su amor y lo protege de la realidad de la situación creando un universo único para él; cuando la verdad es que Joy lleva 7 años secuestrada en la habitación y el niño es producto de los abusos de su captor “El viejo Nick”.
Ahora que Jack tiene 5 años su madre ha tomado la decisión de revelarle la verdad a su hijo así como la realidad acerca del mundo, y de la misma manera pone en marcha diversos planes para escapar, esta parte de la película fue muy angustiante, Jack tiene miedo de dejar todo lo que conoce pero cada día su curiosidad crece y la resistencia de su madre se rompe.
The film starts being narrated by Jack who tells us how he came to the room, then we see Joy Newsome (Brie Larson) and the little boy following their daily routine from the time they get up in the morning until bedtime. Jack is a cheerful and dreamy boy with a personality that makes us love him from the beginning, every day his mother invents new things to make him happy, she gives him all her love and protects him from the reality of the situation creating a unique universe for him; when the truth is that Joy has been kidnapped in the room for 7 years and the child is the product of the abuses of his captor "Old Nick".
Now that Jack is 5 years old his mother has made the decision to reveal the truth to her son as well as the reality about the world, and in the same way she sets in motion various plans to escape, this part of the movie was very distressing, Jack is afraid to leave everything he knows but every day his curiosity grows and his mother's resistance is broken.
El primer plan no funciona, sin embargo Joy no se rinde y trata con un segundo intento mucho más arriesgado que el anterior pero que le permitirá a Jack escapar. El pensamiento de que algo pueda salir mal te hace sentir mortificado y afligido pero feliz al instante en que te das cuenta de que el plan ha funcionado. Ahora Joy y Jack tienen que enfrentarse a algo más aterrador: El mundo real.
The first plan doesn't work, however Joy doesn't give up and tries a second attempt that is much riskier than the first but will allow Jack to escape. The thought that something might go wrong makes you mortified and distressed but happy the instant you realize that the plan has worked. Now Joy and Jack have to face something more terrifying: the real world.
Al salir de la habitación el niño de 5 años se aferra a lo único que conoce y ama que es su madre, mientras que ella está rompiéndose poco a poco. La narración de esta película es tensa y emotiva, nos muestra el amor incondicional de una madre y un hijo y como siendo cada uno el ancla del otro consiguen superar cada una de las adversidades.
As the 5 year old boy leaves the room, he clings to the only thing he knows and loves, which is his mother, while she is slowly breaking down. The narrative of this film is tense and emotional, it shows us the unconditional love of a mother and son and how each being the anchor of the other they manage to overcome every adversity.
La actuación de Jacob Trambley es asombrosa, logra transmitir muy bien sus emociones y reflejar su esencia en el personaje, asimismo, en la trama, el crecimiento de Jack y el proceso de transición en el que estaba envuelto desde su salida de la habitación y la llegada al mundo exterior, fue impresionante y muy real.
Uno de los mensajes que consideré importante al ver esta película, es como el amor familiar te ayuda a superar cualquier cosa y que el vínculo que existe entre una madre y su hijo mueve montañas.
Esta película es extraordinaria y conmovedora, que cuenta con una historia desgarradora y actuaciones inolvidables. Si no la has visto, te recomiendo que lo hagas, probablemente si eres muy sensible como yo, sueltes un par de lágrimas, y si no, estoy segura que te va a conmover.
Jacob Trambley's performance is amazing, he manages to convey his emotions very well and reflect his essence in the character, likewise, in the plot, Jack's growth and the transition process in which he was involved since his departure from the room and arrival to the outside world, was impressive and very real.
One of the messages I felt was important when watching this film, is how family love gets you through anything and that the bond that exists between a mother and her child moves mountains.
This is an extraordinary and moving film, with a heartbreaking story and unforgettable performances. If you haven't seen it, I recommend you do, probably if you are very sensitive like me, you will shed a couple of tears, and if not, I'm sure you will be moved.
