It's been a tough week already and out of all the days this week, today was the only day I didn’t have a paper obviously because it's the weekend. After reading for hours, I felt uneasy and decided to see a movie. I opted for a thriller because it’s the one genre that doesn’t quite bore me out. My sister called me a creep for liking thriller films. That was just hilarious. Romance these days feels redundant so I’d rather settle for the jumpscares and high stakes.

Although I wasn’t really impressed with the film's ambiguous ending, it was intriguing.

    Synopsis

    IMG_1424.jpeg

When Kate (Olga Kurylenko) and Matt (Kevin Janssens) move into a remote mansion, they stumble upon a hidden room with a supernatural power. It grants them anything they wish for. At first, their dreams become reality, from lavish luxuries to priceless works of art. However, the couple soon realizes that everything the room provides can’t be used beyond the walls of the house. Their wishes also begin to spiral out of control, leading to a dark and disturbing revelation that puts their lives at risk.

    Review and Personal Criticism

Directed by Christian Volckman, this film opens with an intriguing premise: the ultimate fantasy of unlimited wishes. However, it shifts real quick from a dreamlike fairy tale to a psychological thriller. The eerie cinematography and unsettling atmosphere helps keep the tension alive, making it clear that the room’s gifts are not as miraculous as they seem.

    IMG_1421.jpeg

It’s actually my first impression of the characters in this film and I must say they delivered strong performances, especially Kate, who embodies a woman torn between desire and despair. Matt, plays the skeptical yet increasingly desperate husband and together, their chemistry sells the emotional weight of their predicament. I was extra hooked when the film delved into the characters psychological struggles rather than just focusing on the supernatural elements.

    IMG_1423.jpeg

While the concept is undeniably compelling, the film falters in execution. The pacing is uneven, some moments are drawn out unnecessarily, while others, especially the climax, felt rushed. Additionally, the film raises deep philosophical questions but doesn’t explore them as thoroughly as it could. It flirts with ideas about the dangers of getting everything you want but stops short of fully committing to a profound commentary.

    IMG_1426.jpeg

Anyway, it is a stylish and eerie thriller with a fascinating concept, although it doesn’t fully capitalize on its potential. If you enjoy mind bending thrillers with supernatural twists, it’s worth a watch but don’t expect a deeply satisfying resolution.

    IMG_1422.jpeg

    Rating: 3.5/5

It’s an intriguing psychological thriller with strong performances and an eerie atmosphere, but its execution leaves room (no pun intended) for more depth which if explored would have left a long remarkable impact on the viewer.

One day the girl gets tired of this life, and begins to create an escape plan to be able to return to her normal life before this hell. For the plan it was necessary for Jack to play dead, so that Nick would not take out wrapped in a carpet, and that in the end he could escape and ask for help for him and his mother.

This film shows us the horrible life that these two characters have locked up, and how they then develop in the real world, after they manage to escape. This production is based on a compilation of several stories of kidnapped people, which first created a novel, and later this film in 2015.

This movie I saw it approximately in 2018, and from that moment I find it an exciting movie if you have the opportunity to see it for the first time. Something that I love, is that they managed to adapt very well each part of the novel, giving it that drama and showing us with simple scenes, a desperation that can get to stress any person.

I said that this movie led me to meet good actors, and this is thanks to the fact that through it I met Jacob Tremblay and Brie Larson, who are the main protagonists of the plot. After this, I started watching more movies of both actors, which I loved and became my favorites. In addition to this, here we have the captor, which is Sean Bridgers, who is also a very good actor who has participated in amazing movies and series along with other wonderful actors.

Another thing that I love, is the way in which each scene and each shot was harmonized, showing us in the scenes in the room, the desperation of the mother and the innocence of the child, who thought that the whole universe was summed up in those 4 walls, and that the television was a kind of portal to a magical world, and refused to believe that it was really the world in which he lived.

The film portrays the moments where we see the decline of the mental health of the protagonists, showing us the Stockholm syndrome, the complicated moment of the sudden acceptance of a different world, and much more. It is interesting to see how the protagonists progress mentally, each time adapting and maladapting to their realities.

The Room tells the sad story of a 17-year-old girl who was kidnapped by a man who kept her captive for seven years in a small room, during which Joy Newsome, played by actress Brie Larson, had a son named Jack, played by Jacob Tremblay. In the story, we will know the conditions in which both live. From the beginning, we will see Jack as a 4 year old boy, so Brie throughout the plot will try to deceive her son by telling him that this is all there is; a room with only four walls, that what the boy sees on TV is not real, and that added to this the old Nick is bad, which she hides in order not to have any contact with him. Besides, that man only went to that place to abuse her while the child was sleeping. I must say that halfway through the movie I was very moved by the fact that I thought it was based on real life and that there was someone who lived that terror.

Now, Joy must plan a way out of that place, risking everything, so we will see this girl completely desperate and at times somewhat discouraged, since some of her plans were not given. In addition, she will have to tell Jack the truth that they are only in a room, that they are in a separate room and that there is a whole world to discover. In itself, every scene is incredible, the way Jack plays the role is fascinating, he is very talented. Also, we will see how Joy plays the character in a wonderful way, feeling the pain as if it were her own.

There is no doubt that this film manages to reflect the situation of Elisabeth, who was the victim of this great event in real life (kidnapped for 24 years), even though the man who had kidnapped her was her own father, you really see these events and do not understand why. Anyway, it is a very desperate story and shows the hope that a captive person faces. Besides, the production also emphasizes the trauma that such a person can have, even after having escaped from their situation.

    Separador.png

I think almost everyone has heard of The Room, considered for years as the best movie in the world. A testament to everything that should not be done in a film, a film that without shyness falls into the category of "So bad it's good."

I have always felt that there is a relationship between The Room and the passion it arouses in the public, with a recent film adaptation of "The Disaster Artist" a book in which The Room Co-star himself describes in detail the process of being part of the film and what it is like to work with the enigma that is Tommy Wiseau, starring the Franco brothers (who even reached the Oscars) the love for this disastrous work is more ardent than ever, and I think I know why.

    [Imagen](https://www.elespanol.com/cultura/cine/20170915/246976217_0.html)

We can synthesize it in two reasons: its autobiographical nature (although it is involuntary) and how it is an anti-class of how to make cinema.

Both things The Room achieves them simultaneously, we know Thanks to the books and extensive documentation of the project to date that the entire production process was hell, the absurd amounts of money that Tommy had could not replace the effort and the talent it takes to make a film. The assembly of The Room is disastrous and lets us see the importance of a good editing, acting, acting and script, musical choices, costumes, etc.

In simpler words: you learn more about cinema by watching these people make mistakes than by watching good movies.

    [Imagen](http://www.upsocl.com/muvi/protagonistas-de-la-peor-pelicula-de-la-historia-van-por-nuevo-proyecto-the-room-aumenta-su-leyenda/)

The biographical nature to which I previously referred is concatenated with that disaster, the film, in the abstract, reflects Tommy's own frustrations, before and after starting the process of making the film. It is a window into the life of this mysterious man, who in a quite intimate way lets us see much more than meets the eye.

Of course, the plot is a disaster, and has hundreds of details that seem to come out of nowhere, subplots that never come to anything and superfluous characters that are why yes, this, in my point of view, gives a strange charisma to the work, because although it fails in an attempt to give an organic atmosphere to its universe, it is not necessarily boring.

It is difficult to critically approach something like The Room, which has no focus, which struggles trying to find its own tone and style, but without a doubt, for some strange reason it allows us to love cinema as an art, to understand how complicated it is. is to carry out any project and as, even if it is the vision of a single person like Tommy, it is undeniable the contribution that dozens and dozens must make for it to end up existing.
    [Imagen](https://revistafractalario.wordpress.com/2014/08/01/el-cine-oculto-the-room/)

I always recommend seeing the room in conjunction with the adaptation of The Disaster Artist, because both made me love cinema a little more.

    Separador.png

    [Imagen](https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/film529733.html)

    Separador.png

    [Imagen](https://www.elespanol.com/cultura/cine/20170915/246976217_0.html)

    [Imagen](http://www.upsocl.com/muvi/protagonistas-de-la-peor-pelicula-de-la-historia-van-por-nuevo-proyecto-the-room-aumenta-su-leyenda/)

    [Imagen](https://revistafractalario.wordpress.com/2014/08/01/el-cine-oculto-the-room/)

Siempre recomiendo ver the room en conjunto con la adaptación de The Disaster Artist, porque ambas, me hicieron amar el cine un poco más.

  5. The room is indeed the worst movie ever!@trumpman1885d

I will admit it, depending on the mood I enjoy watching crappy movies. And by crappy I mean dog shit diarrhea crappy.

To give you an idea, I'm a huge fan of the movies by the Asylum. And that that says a lot!

Anyways, after some peer pressure today I gave the room a watch. And I am really proud. Really proud that I managed to watch it to the end. A true Herculean feat.

There is only one word that comes to mind after finishing it. Painful. According to Wikipedia a critic once described it as the citizen Kane of shitty movies. I think that's a fair description.

I will give this movie a turd out of ten! Don't watch.Just..don't!

Hi Mark - the worst movie in the history of cinema. A lot can be said about bad movies, that they are cheap, lack equipment, do not have the right locations.

Many bad directors might find something for themselves here, but not the iconic figure like Tommy Wiseau. The man who decided to quit everything and become the icon of the film and you can say that he has become because no matter how they talk, but it's important that they talk.

His Opus Magnum, or The Room, is not an amateur production for a few dollars, and for an average American, a high-budget film because it cost several million (believe me, you will not see even a fraction of the effect in the film for this amount).

The film is directed by Tommy, he himself created everything for of this film from sound to script and even was a producer.

The film was made in 2003 and immediately became a "hit". The amount of work and commitment to this work was so great that one of the actors and close friend of Tommy Greg Sestero wrote a book a few years later which was then filmed.

(Trailer) _______________________________________ Being the greatest director in the US was the way Tommy wanted to go. Much can be accused of his film, but not the hearts he has placed here.

The plot focuses on Johnny who has a good job and lives with his girlfriend Lisa. Every day she tries to bring new things like flowers or a dress. However, Lisa gets tired of Johnny and begins to slowly fall in love with Mark, who is Johnny's best friend. Meanwhile, a friend of Denny appears, who is involved in gangster life. And Lisa's mother has cancer. All this is supposed to exacerbate Johnny's breakdown and slow rolling downhill.

The scenario for a melodrama is not bad, despite the number of plots, it can be found in it and you can even feel some degree of gassing. The performance in terms of technology is also fairly ok, the loudness is good, the camera work is actually quite good. and So many of the advantages. the biggest and only disadvantage of this film is the acting, which is sometimes even caricaturally interrupted from cartoons or old movies. You can see that the actors are trying to Tommy what the main character (with a speech impediment) cannot cope, he often flips in what he says and his gesticulation can be comically bad. Other actors are just as weak, although you can see a greater commitment from Lisa or Mark. After all, Tommy did not look at the mistakes made during the filming, but just wanted to show the movie to the public as soon as possible. ____________________________________ The film also has an advanced green screen (the famous scene on the roof) for the years 2003. Chaos stretches from the very first minutes, there is no person who would chronologically try to arrange the whole film into a meaningful whole. The music plays reasonably well when it comes to dramatic productions. Despite its many flaws, it's a legendary movie, it's one of those movies that you watch while laughing at your mistakes and ultimately consider it a good piece of entertainment.
___________________________________Tommy continues to make his films, but The Room is the greatest film work. No one before had been able to make the worst movie for a few million. Now this movie is already iconic somewhere alongside the Plan 9 movie from outer space. It is worth watching and feeling this atmosphere of devotion to create a movie on your own terms, even if it were to be the worst movie. For me, The Room is an outstanding work because I have always dreamed of being a filmmaker. I rate this film highly because it is 7/10, but only because I understand what it is like to run after your dreams

  7. The Room (film): The best bad film ever made?@gooddream2871d

This film is not meant to be a comedy but that is precisely what it ends up being. It was written by, produced by, directed by, completely funded by and stars Tommy Wiseau, who is famous for reasons that he would probably rather not be.

I would love to tell you what this movie is about, but i honestly don't know. I think it has to do with the main character having a falling out with his fiance and discovers that she is having an affair with someone. However, let me go ahead and say this: It doesn't matter what the movie is about because everything about it is just so awful that it somehow manages to be entertaining.

The dialogue doesn't make sense, the sex scenes are terrifying, and the fact that Tommy Wideau can't act at all makes it strangely fun. Well, to be fair to Tommy no one else in this film can act either. The film is widely regarded as one of the worst movies of all time. Seriously, it is actually gets a bit uncomfortable to watch at times it is so bad.

When you are watching this movie (and i strongly recommend that you do) I want you to keep in mind that this train wreck of cinema actually cost $6 million to make. According to Greg Sestero, who was friends with Tommy and ended up as a supporting actor when Tommy fired the real actor on the first day of shooting, said that the budget spiraled out of control almost entirely because of Wiseau's bizarre decisions throughout filming. It was such a mess that Sestero actually ended up writing a book about the experience called "The Disaster Artist" which ended up being a best-seller and was recently made into a movie starring James Franco which ironically made a bunch of money and won some awards.

The trailer for this movie doesn't even begin to show how bad it is. I think it is actually quite deceptive as it involves nearly no dialogue.

Watching "The Disaster Artist" isn't going to make a great deal of sense to those that aren't at least a little bit familiar with the original movie so if you have some spare time seriously, you need to see this.

Of course it isn't good but it is widely regarded as "the best worst movie ever made." It's great fun and it gets the gooddream stamp of approval for how incredibly bad it is.
