Creo que la mayoría de ustedes ya sabe de qué va la película y quiénes trabajan en ella, pero por si acaso, para quienes puedan no saberlo, el guión fue escrito por Gerwig junto a Noah Baumbach y en la película aparecen Emma Mackey, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, Dua Lipa y la voz de Helen Mirren, pero obviamente toda la atención la acapara la pareja protagonista: Ryan Gosling como Ken y Margot Robbie como la icónica muñeca de Mattel. Esta última, más que una repesentación parece la personificación de Barbie y aunque al inicio del proyecto Robbie se sumó como productora y no como protagonista, creo que asumir ese papel fue la decisión acertada. En pocas palabras, la película es una comedia de fantasía cuya trama se resume en los cambios que se producen primero en la personalidad de Barbie y luego en todo Barbieland. La vida perfecta del día a día, los bailes, las fiestas y el ambiente alegre comienzan a cambiar cuando Barbie comienza a tener pensamientos sobre la muerte y comienza a percibir que las cosas a su alrededor no son tan perfectas, lo que se refleja en sus pies, antes erguidos (como los de la muñeca) y ahora planos. De toda esta primera parte destaca la escenografía y la atención a los detalles. Es impresionante cómo la producción consiguió convertir un universo de juguete en un mundo real, pero preservando la naturaleza plástica de cada cosa.

Now, for several weeks I have been reading criticism that the film's message is too feminist, or that it abuses the theme of patriarchy, but you have to understand the logic of the story being told and the universe in which it takes place. What we see in the film are not the words of any woman but of the Barbies who have lived their entire lives in Barbieland, an obviously fictional female utopia. It is logical that from the perspective of these dolls the real world sounds absurd and is difficult to conceive or that they are inexperienced when it comes to handling the new patriarchal model that Ken installs from his Mojo Dojo Casa House (that name made me laugh a lot). That is to say, it is a fantasy film that uses comedy, satire, absurdity, but does an excellent job of showing what the Barbies could feel in those situations (and also the Kens, treated as the accessories they are, always in the shadow or at the service of the main character: Barbie). Finally, we must not forget that the protagonist of the story is a doll that has been revered, loved and treasured by millions of girls throughout the world (and it might not seem inclusive to talk only about girls here, but it has been) so it is also logical that the central message is primarily for them.

Barbie tiene muchas referencias cinematográficas, pero creo que las más evidentes son sus guiños a El Mago de Oz, Harry Potter, Pinocho, The Matrix y obviamente esa secuencia inicial tomada de 2001: A Space Odyssey que me pareció una gran forma de introducir tanto el personaje central como la historia. Ahora bien, hace varias semanas que he leído críticas sobre que el mensaje de la película es demasiado feminista, o que abusa de usar el tema del patriarcado, pero hay que entender la lógica de la historia que se cuenta y el universo en el que se circunscribe. Lo que vemos en la película no son las palabras de cualquier mujer sino de las Barbies que han vivido toda su vida en Barbieland, una utopía femenina obviamente ficticia. Es lógico que desde la perspectiva de estas muñecas el mundo real suene absurdo y sea difícil de concebir o que resulten inexpertas a la hora de manejar el nuevo modelo patriarcal que instala Ken desde su Mojo Dojo Casa House (me dio mucha risa ese nombre). Es decir, se trata de una película de fantasía que utiliza la comedia, la sátira, el absurdo, pero que hace un excelente trabajo mostrando lo que podrían sentir las Barbies en esas situaciones (y también los Kens, tratados como los accesorios que son, siempre a la sombra o al servicio del personaje principal: Barbie). Por último, no hay que olvidar que la protagonista de la historia es una muñeca que ha sido reverenciada, amada y atesorada por millones de niñas a lo largo y ancho del mundo (y podría parecer poco inclusivo hablar solamente de niñas acá, pero así ha sido) por lo que es lógico también que el mensaje central sea primordialmente para ellas.

Finally, I didn't think it was an indoctrinating or proselytizing film (something I read in some reviews), but rather a fun, fantastic comedy, with an important central message, incredible staging and great performances. Y, ¿cuál es el mensaje central? Que uno puede ser lo que quiera ser. No se limita a las niñas o a las mujeres, el mensaje central de Barbie es la búsqueda de la identidad propia y el perseguir los sueños siendo fiel a sí mismo. Es cierto que la película tiene sus puntos flacos (los villanos resultan muy caricaturescos para provenir del mundo real), el guión podría haber sido mejor, pero tiene muy buenos diálogos, buenas escenas musicales (el instante en que inicia la canción de Billie Eilish es profundamente emotivo), momentos hilarantes, actuaciones increíbles, especialmente las de Margot Robbie y Ryan Gosling y creo que logra mantener - en su mayor parte - una coherencia con la esencia de los personajes, de la historia y de la película que se nos muestra. ¿Volvería a verla alguna vez? sin duda, ¿la vería una decena de veces? probablemente no, pero por un tema de gusto personal, no porque no me parezca una muy buena película. Finalmente, no me pareció que fuese una película adoctrinadora o proselitista (cosa que leí en algunas reseñas), sino una comedia divertida, fantástica, con un importante mensaje central, una puesta en escena increíble y estupendas actuaciones, ¿alguno de ustedes aún no la ha visto? ¿por qué?       A ver, por donde empiezo? Ante todo les doy un cordial saludo a la fabulosa y más activa comunidad de #MoviesAndTVShows.       Aunque ya tiene tiempo que salió y se estrenó, fue hasta hoy que me animé a verla desde la comodidad de mi casa. Estaba intrigada por saber de qué trataba y cuál sería su historia, dejaría algun mensaje? me remontaría a mi infancia? pues aquí les dejo mi opinión sincera.

      La historia se basa en un lugar llamado Barbieland, donde todo es perfecto y único para Barbie, haciéndolo especial sólo para ellas. Quisiera decir que es un mundo aparte, pero en realidad es como un pueblo o tierra imaginaria donde sólo existen las Barbies y los Kenes.

      Pero honestamente y desde un principio te dejan claro que este mundo sólo es perfecto para el personaje principal y sus amigas. Dejando a los Kenes literalmente por fuera siempre. Y pues llega un momento en que la Barbie Estereotípica se siente diferente y debe ir al mundo real.

      Hay unos cuantos personajes que aparecen en este film. Pero a decir verdad me parecieron todos muy vacíos y sin sentido. Los personajes que más me gustaron fue el de Ken (Interpretado por el sexi Ryan Gosling) y el de Gloria (interpretado por America Ferrera). Por supuesto que Margot Robbie se lució con su papel como Barbie Estereotípica o la clásica Barbie que todos conocemos desde niña.

      Voy a ser lo más sincera y honesta posible sobre el contenido de esta película. No me gustó para nada, ni un poquito, por lo tanto no la recomiendo. De puntuación le doy un 3/10 o 1/5, y esto a qué se debe? Pues les cuento:

      Es más que todo por la trama en general, los díalogos vacíos y la idea plasmada en la película de forma extremista entre el Patriarcado y el Feminismo. Y es que la conversación entre los muñecos en el mundo de Barbie me pareció tan ridícula, además el lugar que le daban las Barbies a los Kenes, literalmente como si fueran accesorios como leí por allí. O sea no.

      Tomando en cuenta el año en que estamos, las vueltas que ha dado la historia y la forma en la que decidieron plasmar la idea de que el patriarcado es un asco y el feminismo es lo mejor del mundo, o sea no, cómo es que no se les pudo ocurrir una mejor idea para desarrollar la trama de esta película?

      Me pareció exageradamente extremista entre estas dos ideas, cosa que cláramente está mal, o sea, no es que esté en desacuerdo con el empoderamiento de la mujer y los derechos que esta ha ganado con los años pero por favor, expresar la idea relacionada a que los hombres son como inútiles? se pasaron. Me pareció bastánte ridículo el hecho de que invirtieran los papeles aquí. Y es que se sabe que anteriormente las mujeres si fueron usadas como accesorios al igual que mostraron aqui con los hombres pero en ese extremo?

      De nuevo, no tuvieron una historia y trama mejor para hacer esta película? Desde que empezó hasta que terminó, la película no me entretuvo, no me pareció divertida, ni siquiera me hizo reir en los momentos supuestamente graciosos. Tampoco me remontó a mi infancia, cosa que realmente esperaba ver con alguna de las Barbies en algún momento. Para mí fue perder tiempo de vida viendo este film.

      Opino que pudieron hacer una mejor historia y haber marcado una diferencia de esta muñeca que tiene décadas de popularidad y aún la mantiene. Honestamente no sé cuál fue el auge que tuvo ni a qué se debió. Gastaron la plata innecesariamente. Lo único que sí me gustó fue la canción al final de Billie Eilish, fue lo único que disfruté, los créditos de la película con la canción de fondo, del resto: un asco.

      Again, they didn't have a better story and plot to make this movie? From the time it started to the time it ended, the film did not entertain me, I did not find it funny, and it did not even make me laugh at the supposedly funny moments. It also didn't take me back to my childhood I was hoping to see some of the Barbie, a some point. For me, it was a waste of time watching this film.

      I think they could have made a better story and made a difference in this doll that has decades of popularity and still maintains it. I honestly don't know what the boom was or what it was due to. They spent money unnecessarily. The only thing I did like was the song at the end by Billie Eilish, it was the only thing I enjoyed, the credits of the movie with the song in the background, the rest: sucked.

¡Hola, hola, mis queridos Hivers amantes del buen cine! Hoy es un miércoles muy rosa, he visto una película que estaba bastante lejos en mi lista de pendientes por ver, pues si, aunque su campaña publicitaria fue, por mucho, excesiva, y probablemente eso mismo fue lo que no me provocara el deseo de verla, sin embargo, hoy me la encontré en el camino y me dispuse a verla, para poder criticar y no dejarme llevar por las críticas de otros, aunque no es una película para niños, me la vi con Mathias, pensé que se iría a ver otra cosa a mitad de la película, pero, para mi sorpresa la termino de ver, todos en casa la disfrutamos, aun con algunas escenas que digamos, no me agradaron en lo absoluto. Esta producción que finalmente termino siendo de Warner Bros, ya que durante muchos años estuvo dando más vueltas que bolita de bingo, entre productora y productora, pues, pareciera que le estaba huyendo a la movida feminista de que va la película, siendo estrenada en julio de este año, en medio de una de las campañas publicitarias más grandes que he visto en los últimos años y recibiendo muy buenas críticas, aunque también como todo, ha tenido sus detractores.







Barbie, en el mundo real, la verdad, no me lo esperaba, y es que, para alguien que no es fanática de esta muñeca (de pequeña odiaba las muñecas), digamos que, no es algo de lo que estaría pendiente, pero, no podía tampoco dejarla pasar, pues para una buena amante del cine, había que verla. Con Margot Robbie como Barbie y Ryan Gosling como Ken, debo decir que, aunque este par ya cuentan con unas cuantas arrugas en su rostro, y que no disimularon en lo absoluto, paso a creer que fue algo hecho adrede, pues para nadie es un secreto que Barbie ya cuenta con unos 64 años, y que ha ido evolucionando con el pasar del tiempo, pero conservando ese mismo rostro de mujer perfecta, y teniendo a Ken, más como un accesorio que como un amigo/novio, como fue creado en un principio, y es que cuantas de ustedes llegaron a tener ms de una muñeca Barbie, y ningún Ken, porque los vendían por separado jajaja.







Para entrar en contexto, nos encontramos con una mujer adulta, perdón, muñeca adulta, que llego a la vida de las niñas en el 1959, para romper ese paradigma que tenían las mujeres y niñas, ya que solo pensaban en la mujer como una madre, por lo que desde pequeñas les iban entregando muñecas con forma de bebes, presentándoles a esta muñeca con forma de mujer adulta, y un traje de baño con franjas blanco y negro, y que con el pasar de los años fueron sacando nuevas ediciones, hasta llegar al punto de tener una barbie para cada profesión existente, aun para aquellas que solo eran desempeñadas por hombres. Nos encontramos con Barbieland, un mundo perfecto en donde todas son Barbie, y todos son Ken, digamos que, aunque todos tienen una profesión o rol diferente, a todas luces todos son iguales, representando la igualdad en un mundo utópico, en donde todos los días son perfectos, en perfecta armonía, y con sonrisas que no se borran nunca de sus rostros, en donde cada quien es lo que desea ser, y hacen sus actividades, y se movilizan de acuerdo a lo que su imaginación les permite hacer.









El punto más traumatizante para las Barbie´s, llega cuando a Barbie (Margot Robbie) le llega repentinamente la idea de la muerte inminente, y su mundo comienza a cambiar de manera drástica, comenzando por pasar de caminar de puntillas, la típica postura de todas las Barbies, a lograr tocar el suelo con sus talones, los llamados, horribles pies planos, que le dificultan incluso caminar, enfrentándose además al mal aliento, la mala suerte y cosas que suelen sucederle solo a los humanos, por lo que es incitada a visitar a la Barbie Rarita (Kate McKinnon), esa barbie que probablemente más de una tuvo en casa, la que esta deschavetada con el cabello trasquilada y toda marcada con crayones y marcadores, pues esta ha quedado para reparar a las Barbie´s que presentan algún tipo de desperfecto y que vive en lo que ella llama su casa Bizarra, explicándole lo que esta sucediéndole a la Barbie Estereotípica (Margot Robbie) y que la solución para volver a ser la de antes, es ir al mundo real, explicándole además como debía hacerlo, es allí cuando empieza la travesía de Barbie, a quien le acompaña Ken, quien se cuela en su auto, pues ella no quería ser acompañada.









Llegando al mundo real, vestidos a juego con leotardos en colores neón, se enfrentan con una realidad nada parecida a la que vivían en Barbieland, a Ken le encanta ver el poder que tienen los hombres en la sociedad, mientras que a Barbie, quien se encuentra con tratos misóginos, miradas y palabras incomodantes, no le es nada agradable, y es que nos encontramos con una escena en la que un hombre le da una nalgada a Barbie, sin mediar palabras si quiera, reaccionando Barbie, como cualquier mujer empoderada lo haría, dándole un golpe en la cara, yendo tanto ella como Ken a la cárcel por esta acción, y es que, estas son situaciones que fácilmente suceden en el mundo real, pues hasta en la misma comisaria, es víctima de comentarios sexistas por parte de los policías, un golpe de realidad bastante real, debo decir.







Ok hasta allí les dejo el cuento de la película, para contarles un poco de mi opinión, nos presentan un mundo fantasioso y hasta utópico para algunas feministas, en Barbieland, un mundo en el que las mujeres son desde la máxima autoridad hasta la que limpia las calles, teniendo al hombre (Ken), como un accesorio, como el que tiene que estar a los pies de la mujer, así vemos a Ken (Ryan Gosling), prácticamente suplicando por el amor y la atención de Barbie, de hecho una frase de la película dice así; "para Barbie todos los días son perfectos, mientras que para Ken, el día es perfecto si Barbie lo nota". Cuando Ken llega al mundo real y comienza a recibir un poco de respeto por parte de las mujeres e incluso de los mismos hombres y conoce el patriarcado, sencillamente queda enamorado de la posibilidad de recibir eso en su mundo, y es que, hasta la razón le doy, pues, ¿A quién no le gusta que lo traten bien?









Hay actuaciones que me parece están tan bien desarrolladas que hasta termine odiándolos, tal es el caso de Will Ferrell, el director ejecutivo de Mattel, y es que lo hizo a mi manera de ver, tan bien que lo odie, por ser tan bizarro, ese discurso empoderador, que da América Ferrera quien hace a Gloria, una empleada de Mattel, una mujer normal y corriente que termina ayudando a Barbie a entender que le sucede y superar su crisis existencial, probablemente esa crisis era la de los 40 y le llego un poco tarde, América lo hizo excelente a mi manera de ver, al igual que los protagonistas, Margot y Ryan interpretaron muy bien a Barbie y Ken, tan plásticos como podrían ser jajaja, y ni hablar de la Barbie Rarita, le dio esa chispa que toda película debe tener.







En líneas generales es una película agradable, con unos cuantos mensajes para dar, amé que hay una Barbie con unos kilos de más, no sabía que existía, una película con una carga feminista considerable, y que en una época en la que el machismo aún prevalece, encontrar una película que sea capaz de empoderar a las mujeres, mas allá de la campaña de marketing que hay detrás de la misma, es realmente algo agradable, no es de mis favoritas, pero, como dice su comercial, tanto si amas u odias a Barbie, deberías verla, pues mas allá del mundo de plástico, deja ver un gran mensaje para las mujeres, sobre todo para aquellas que dudan de la fuerza que pueden tener, para los hombres, esta es una película que probablemente no sea tan agradable, pero que también es posible que disfruten, en cuanto a mi valoración, le daré un 7/10.

La película era lo que me imaginaba y a la vez no. A decir verdad, al principio no le di mucha atención a la filmación ni estaba al tanto de nada. Fue lo más genial ver tanta marea rosa, se vivió muy lindo, me hizo sentir parte de algo.

Yes, I remember all the metaphorical symbols, and the homages to other films and appreciate them but the movie itself as an individual work left no impression. This hype won’t last. Barbie is no ‘Cléo from 5 to 7’, no ‘Portrait of a Lady on Fire’, no ‘Jeanne Dielman’, no ‘Daisies’—it holds no candle to the true feminist cinema, and perhaps it’s not trying to be. It is a borderline theme park with a very important social message. Enjoy the sensation while it lasts.

La semana pasada se estrenó la tan esperada película de Barbie protagonizada por la bellísima Margot Robbie y, su servidora aquí presente como buena fan 100% real no fake de Barbie fue al estreno para verla recién salida del horno. De esta producción cinematográfica se esperaba que fuera un rotundo éxito y que no solo hiciera reír por ser del género de comedia, sino que también abordaría temas serios que dejaran a más de uno reflexionando y debo decir que... así tal cual fue, claro, no sin acumular detractores en el camino debido a que muchos mensajes aparentemente "le metieron el dedo en la llaga" a muchos ji, ji, ji. 👀

Para mí Barbie es un icono, es GRAN (así en mayúscula) parte de mi infancia, es estilo, es una época y simplemente simboliza muchas cosas positivas. Nunca vi a este juguete como algo que quisiera lastimar a determinadas personas por no lucir como ella o causar algún daño en general, siempre la vi como una muñeca bonita con la que me gustaba jugar y listo, pero sé que este no es el caso de muchas personas por distintas razones que, aunque algunas no entiendo, las respeto, pero no comparto y considero importante mencionar mi cariño por este juguete para que entiendan mi sentir apasionado por la película y todo el movimiento ✨POP✨ que ha creado.

Last week was released the long awaited Barbie movie starring the gorgeous Margot Robbie and yours truly here as a good 100% real non fake Barbie fan went to the premiere to see it fresh "out of the oven". This film production was expected to be a resounding success and that it would not only make you laugh because it was a comedy, but also address serious issues that would leave more than one reflecting and I must say that... it was just as it was, of course, not without accumulating detractors along the way because many messages apparently "got the finger on the sore spot" to many ji, ji, ji. 👀

For me Barbie is an icon, she is BIG (capitalized like that) part of my childhood, she is style, she is an era and she simply symbolizes a lot of positive things. I never saw this toy as something that wanted to hurt certain people for not looking like her or cause any harm in general, I always saw her as a pretty doll that I liked to play with and that's it, but I know this is not the case for many people for different reasons that, although some I don't understand, I respect them, but I don't share and I consider important to mention my affection for this toy so you can understand my passionate feeling for the movie and all the ✨POP✨ movement it has created.

Quienes no han visto la película se preguntaran de qué va Barbie exactamente (aunque ahorita está en todos lados, es muy difícil que alguien no sepa algo de ella, así no le guste 😅), bueno, síganme leyendo que yo les cuento.

Barbie va de que la clásica muñeca amada por muchos, vive feliz en su mundo rosa con todas sus amigas Barbies y sus compañeros, los Kens, pero toda esa felicidad se ve un día interrumpida por preguntas existencialistas. ¿Una Barbie con cuestionamientos existenciales?, ¡yes sir! Aparentemente, Barbie no está "funcionando" como debería y debe averiguar la razón. Varias cosas suceden, Barbie termina en el mundo real, enterándose así de una realidad agridulce que desconocía y cambiando en consecuencia su forma de ver la vida para siempre.

Después de ver Barbie, me quedo claro que esta película es del género camp en todo el sentido de la palabra y muy poco se ha comentado esto (o por lo menos yo no he visto que mencionen el camp). Es extravagante, exagerada, una sátira color de rosa, llena de mensajes que, contrario a lo que dicen algunos, no son subliminales, sino que más bien están bien explícitos y para mí es evidente que esa es la intención. Como siento que lo que el filme quiere trasmitir es excesivamente obvio, me es difícil entender por qué determinadas personas se molestaron al verla o porque no lograron entender diversos mensajes y hasta teorías conspirativas sacaron. Una de tres, o yo soy muy positiva, o la gente está muy paranoica, o todos estamos locos y no entendemos nada. 🤡

Those who haven't seen the movie may wonder what exactly Barbie is about (although it's everywhere right now, it's very difficult for someone not to know something about her, even if they don't like her 😅), well, keep reading because I'll tell you.

Barbie is about the classic doll loved by many, living happily in her pink world with all her Barbie friends and her companions, the Kens, but all that happiness is one day interrupted by existentialist questions. A Barbie with existential questions?, yes sir! Apparently, Barbie is not "functioning" as she should and must find out why. Several things happen, Barbie ends up in the real world, thus learning of a bittersweet reality she was unaware of and consequently changing her outlook on life forever.

After watching Barbie, it was clear to me that this film is camp in every sense of the word and very little has been said about it (or at least I haven't seen camp mentioned). It's quirky, over the top, a rose-colored satire, full of messages that, contrary to what some say, are not subliminal, but rather are very explicit and to me it's clear that this is the intention. As I feel that what the film wants to convey is excessively obvious, it is difficult for me to understand why certain people were upset when they saw it or why they failed to understand various messages and even came up with conspiracy theories. One of three, either I'm too positive, or people are too paranoid, or we're all crazy and don't understand anything. 🤡

Como mencione antes, note que a cierto grupo de personas este filme les hizo mucho ruido, más que todo a ciertos hombres, por como muestran al muñeco Ken, compañero de Barbie, en la película, cosa que honestamente encuentro muy tonta, ya que solo es una representación de lo que de hecho es Ken en el mundo de Barbie (simplemente el compañero que está ahí, casi un accesorio) y también una muestra de como es a la inversa la diferencia de poderes, que aunque quieran negar, ha existido y en algunos casos aún existe (permítanme explicarme este punto mejor a continuación).

Este filme hay que verlo con la mente abierta y sin ninguna postura radical. En mi caso apoyo la lucha de la mujer, pero no me considero feminista o por lo menos no estoy de acuerdo con muchas cosas que predica el feminismo de hoy día, tampoco soy machista, apoyo a los hombres en muchas cosas, como nosotras, ellos tienen su lugar en el mundo, pero obviamente no apoyo lo que la ideología del patriarcado representa ni lo que ha hecho a lo largo de la historia. Las mujeres y los hombres representamos en este plano físico dos energías (femenina y masculina) que se supone deberían complementarse, no estar en guerra y quienes entendemos esto sin mayor problema, no vamos a sentirnos afectados por la representación de la problemática de poder entre los hombres y las mujeres porque sabemos que tristemente es una realidad que ha existido y sigue existiendo en la vida de muchas personas, más bien, me resulta genial que en Barbie lo hayan mostrado de una forma burlona.

As I mentioned before, I noticed that to a certain group of people this film made a lot of noise, mostly to certain men, because of how the Ken doll, Barbie's companion, is shown in the movie, something that I honestly find very silly, since it is only a representation of what Ken is in fact in Barbie's world (just the companion who is there, almost an accessory) and also a demonstration of how the difference in powers is the other way around, which although there are people who want to deny it, has existed and in some cases still exists (let me explain this point better below).

This film must be seen with an open mind and without any radical posture. In my case I support the fight of the woman, but I do not consider myself a feminist or at least I do not agree with many things preached by today's feminism, neither am I a sexist, I support men in many things, like us, they have their place in the world, but obviously I do not support what the ideology of patriarchy stands for or what it has done throughout history. Women and men represent in this physical plane two energies (feminine and masculine) that are supposed to complement each other, not to be at war and those of us who understand this without any problem, are not going to feel affected by the representation of the problem of power between men and women because we know that sadly it is a reality that has existed and continues to exist in the lives of many people, rather, I find it great that Barbie has shown it in a mocking way.

Dejando aquello atrás, les confieso que a mí me encanta ser mujer a pesar de que muchas veces no es fácil por todo lo que conlleva, así que Barbie me pareció un filme muy bien hecho, pues se atreve a hablar de las luchas que muchas mujeres batallan en silencio (si sí, ya sabemos que hoy día es más fácil hablar de determinados temas, pero aún hay personas a las que no les resulta fácil), es femenina, es divertida, el vestuario es espectacular y dentro de todo el escándalo visual, tiene un mensaje valioso. Independientemente de que te guste o no la película, tiene un mensaje que ha motivado a muchas personas y eso es lo más importante. El filme deja claro que la perfección no existe, que todos debemos darnos nuestra propia importancia, buscar nuestro lugar en el mundo y que es normal perderse en el camino de la vida.

Barbie está muy bien estructurada, la directora Greta Gerwig una vez más realizo su trabajo exitosamente y nos dio un producto de calidad que cumplió con lo que quiso vender (quien esperaba otra cosa, nunca vio los trailers ni presto atención a los comentarios que se iban haciendo respecto al filme). La actuación del cast en su totalidad me pareció muy pulcra, todos hicieron muy bien lo que se supone tenían que hacer y si de la escenografía hablamos, pues, ¡simplemente un espectáculo!, yo también quiero ir a Barbieland.

Leaving that behind, I confess that I love being a woman even though it is not easy because of all that it implies, so Barbie seemed to me a very well made film, because it dares to talk about the struggles that many women battle in silence (yes, we know that today it is easier to talk about certain issues, but there are still people who do not find it easy), it is feminine, it is fun, the costumes are spectacular and within all the visual scandal, it has a valuable message. Whether you like the film or not, it has a message that has motivated many people and that is the most important thing. The film makes it clear that perfection does not exist, that we should all give ourselves our own importance, look for our place in the world and that it is normal to get lost on the journey of life.

Barbie is very well structured, director Greta Gerwig once again did her job successfully and gave us a quality product that delivered what she wanted to sell (who expected anything else, never saw the trailers or paid attention to the comments that were being made about the film). The acting of the cast as a whole seemed to me very polished, they all did very nicely what they were supposed to do and if we talk about the set design, well, it was simply a spectacle!, I want to go to Barbieland too.

Si te gusta la excentricidad, el humor un tanto negro, lo particular, lo ingenioso, el color rosado (plop) y no te da miedo cuestionar ni burlarte de ti mismo, Barbie es para ti y yo SÍ te la recomiendo.

Las modas siempre han existido, a algunas me he sumado y a otras no, pero cuando han sido de cosas que me gustan UFF, he sido feliz y en esta ocasión me ha encantado ver el mundo "color de rosa" por Barbie. You see, like many of you I decided to take advantage of Christopher Nolan's simultaneous premiere with Oppenheimer to see both on the same day, what surprised me the most about this "marathon" was the ability of both films to represent quality in two completely opposite ways.

While in Oppenheimer's case it was pretty obvious that I would at least enjoy it (Considering Nolan's neat production/direction on any project he gets involved with), I didn't expect that despite his uninhibited nature the Barbie movie would manage to sink so deep into my feelings.

Although on the surface we can say that we are looking at another fish out of water story, Barbie takes advantage of this same premise to immerse us in a critical exploration of the dynamics that characterize women and men in the modern world, mixed with references and nods to the long history of one of the most iconic toys of all time.

I regularly see critics angry with the "woke" and "feminist" nature of the film, I dare to ask them: Has anyone bothered to see the whole thing? And if so, do they have the capacity to process what is in front of the screen? To discern when it is being honest and when it is a dumb satire?

It is undeniable that Barbie is a story of female empowerment, but in my humble opinion this has been achieved in the most elegant way possible, challenging the position that men and women occupy in society and accepting that we are both surrounded by toxic and impossible to fulfill standards. It never exists to denigrate either party (and in the cases that it does, it is clearly intent on showing how ridiculous this imbalance was in the first place).

Barbie manages to harmonize the most superficial and stereotypical vision of the Mattel doll with a deconstructed and realistic perspective, which recognizes women as individuals capable of achieving what they set out to do in life, but who should not feel the absurd need to fill a mold established by others, it tells us about the idea of feeling comfortable with ourselves and accepting our imperfections.

Barbie's journey (played by the always excellent Margot Robbie) starts up being driven by superficial reasons: an absolute rejection of those "defects" that bring her closer to an ordinary woman... but later she connects more and more to her new humanity.

The Ken subplot instead serves to expose us to the power that men have in the real world, using satire and exaggeration to show why the materialization of a patriarchy ends up being counterproductive for both men and women.

Regardless of its quality, it must be admitted that this is a film that offers exactly what it offers: a story that celebrates Barbie's legacy and manages to reconnect the doll's original purpose with a more modern and progressive vision, without necessarily betraying what elevated her to the top in the first place.

It is a film that is far from perfect, the humor in the first half does not always land in the right way and there are a couple of additions to the story that are unnecessary (Ex: the inclusion of Mattel executives) however, even If you don't align with the message being conveyed here, it's important to recognize how great it is that a big, commercial movie like this has the courage to be "different", and, most of the time, it achieves this without being pretentious: retaining good music, a spectacular set design and a fairly neat rhythm.

Besides, it just confirmed to me that Ryan Gosling is probably one of the funniest living artists out there.

Antier finalmente vi en cines "Barbie" de Greta Gerwig y honestamente he estado sufriendo un poco para escribir algo al respecto, Especialmente porque siento que la mayoria de las opiniones que leo en internet han sido demasiado polarizadas y rara vez logro coincidir en su totalidad con ellas.

Veran, al igual que muchos de ustedes decidi aprovechar el estreno simultaneo con Oppenheimer de Christopher Nolan para ver ambas el mismo dia, lo que más me sorprendio de este "maratón" era la capacidad que tenian ambos filmes para representar calidad en dos sentidos totalmente opuestos.

Si bien en el caso de Oppenheimer era bastante obvio que al menos la disfrutaria (Considerando la pulcra producción/dirección de Nolan en cualquier proyecto que se involucra), no esperaba que a pesar de su naturaleza tan deshinibida Barbie lograra calar tan ondo en el plano sentimental.

Aunque en la superficie podremos decir que estamos ante una historia más del montón protagonizada por un pez fuera del agua, Barbie aprovecha esta misma premisa para sumergirnos en una exploración critica a las dinámicas que caracterizan a la mujer y el hombre del mundo moderno, a medidas que se intercalan constantementes las referencias y los guiños a la longeva historia de uno de los juguetes más iconicos de todos los tiempos.

Veo regularmente criticos enojados con la naturaleza "woke" y "feminista" de la película, yo me atrevo a preguntarles: ¿Alguno se tomó la molestia de ver esta película? Y si es asi, ¿Cuentan con capacidad de procesar lo que esta en frente de las pantalla? ¿De discernir cuando está siendo honesta y cuando es una sátira?

Es innegable que Barbie es una historia de empoderamiento femenino, pero en mi humilde opinion esto se ha logrado de la forma mas elegante posible, desafiando la posición que los hombres y las mujeres ocupamos en la sociedad y aceptando que ambos nos encontramos rodeados de estandares toxicos e imposibles de cumplir. Nunca existe para denigrar a ninguna de las dos partes (y en los casos que lo hace, claramente es con la intención de demostrar lo ridículo que es este desbalance en prkmer lugar)

Barbie logra armonizar la vision más superficial y estereotipica de la muñeca de Mattel con una perspectiva deconstruida y realista, que reconoce a las mujeres como individuos capaces de lograr lo que se propongan en la vida, pero que no deberian sentir la necesidad absurda de llenar un molde establecido por los demas, nos habla sobre la idea de sentirnos comodos con nosotros mismos y aceptar nuestras imperfecciones.

El viaje de Barbie (Interpretada por la siempre excelente Margot Robbie) empieza impulsado por motivos superficiales: un rechazo absoluto a aquellos "defectos" que la acercan a una mujer ordinaria pero posteriormente va conectandose cada vez más a su nueva humanidad.

La subtrama de los Ken en cambio sirve para exponernos al poder con el que cuentan los hombres en el mundo real, empleando la satira y la exageración para demostrar por que la materialización de un patriarcado termina siendo contraproducente tanto para nosotros como para ellas.

Independientemente de su calidad hay que admitir que esta es una película que brinda exactamente lo que nos ofrece: un filme que celebra el legado de Barbie y logra reconectar el propósito original de la muñeca con una vision más moderna y progresista, sin necesidad de traicionar aquello que la elevó a la cima en primer lugar.

Es una película que dista de ser perfecta, el humor en la primera mitad no siempre aterriza de la manera correcta y existen un par de adiciones a la historia que están de mas (EJ: la inclusión de los ejecutivos de Mattel) no obstante, incluso si no te alineas con el mensaje transmitido aquí es importante reconocer lo genial que resulta que una película tan grande y comercial como esta tenga la valentia suficiente para ser "diferente", y, la mayor parte del tiempo consigue esto sin caer en lo pretencioso: reteniendo buena musica, un diseño de sets espectacular y un ritmo bastante prolijo.

La película dirigida por Greta Gerwig —quien ya conocía por sus famosas películas Lady Bird y Mujercitas— es una cinta que amas u odias, la disfrutas o te incomoda. En mi caso, la amé💗 No es mi película favorita en el mundo, pero si disfruté cada segundo, lloré y reí junto a Barbie. A pesar de sus estereotipos de belleza, este personaje llegó al mundo para ser una inspiración en el público femenino; dado que debemos ser conscientes que, en las eras anteriores a la actual, las mujeres vivían en un mundo donde no tenían poder sobre el desarrollo de sus vidas, y ahí es cuando llega Barbie para decir: "puedes ser quien quieras ser"💗

Hay algunos detalles que realmente no me gustaron de la película, pero hay otros que me encantaron. This post will be totally pink, because a week ago was the long awaited premiere of the Barbie movie, and since I am a girl lover of this doll, as well as an adult movie lover, I had to go to the big premiere 💜.

The movie directed by Greta Gerwig -who I already knew for her famous movies Lady Bird and Little Women- is a film that you either love or hate, enjoy it or discomfort it. In my case, I loved it💗 It's not my favorite movie in the world, but I did enjoy every second, I cried and laughed along with Barbie. Despite its beauty stereotypes, this character came to the world to be an inspiration to the female audience; since we must be aware that, in the eras before the current one, women lived in a world where they had no power over the development of their lives, and that's when Barbie arrives to say: "you can be who you want to be"💗

There are some details that I really didn't like about the film, but there are others that I loved. With a variety of topics, from feminism and patriarchy, to existential crises, to mortality, this movie grabs some important factors of the imperfect world we live in and places them on a silver platter. So, without spoilers, I'll give you my opinion✨

Todas las versiones de Barbie viven felices en su propio mundo, Barbieland, una dimensión paralela a la nuestra. Allí ellas son literalmente lo que quieran ser, y se encargan de absolutamente todo. Días perfectos en la playa, y noches perfectas de chicas. La casa de ensueño de Barbie, con el auto rosado de Barbie, y hasta el perro de Barbie. Todo perfectamente rosa. Hasta que la Barbie principal, ese estereotipo que todos pensamos cuando escuchamos el nombre "Barbie", se pregunta acerca de la muerte. Allí comienza la decadencia de la muñeca. Sus pies ya no caminan de puntillas, sus piernas tienen celulitis, y siente un vacío en su interior.

All versions of Barbie live happily in their own world, Barbieland, a dimension parallel to ours. There they are literally whatever they want to be, and they take care of absolutely everything. That is the only way to resolve the rift that has been created between the two worlds. And though Barbie heads out on this adventure alone, a companion she wasn't expecting, Ken, shows up. The two arrive in a world that is the complete opposite of Barbieland; Barbie knows the breadth of emotions, and also street bullying, while Ken comes face to face with the patriarchy. And so, they both question who they are and what they want in their lives.

Para comenzar, debo aclarar algo muy importante. Esta no es una película para niños. Esta vez no es una hada, no es una princesa, ni una bailarina, es solo la Barbie estereotípica, viviendo una crisis existencial, perdiendo la fe y el rumbo de su existencia, viendo como su vida perfecta que siempre deseó, se arruina. Realmente es muy fácil identificarse con esta versión de Barbie, pero aun así, sigue siendo ella demostrándonos que todo es posible.

To begin with, I must clarify something very important. This is not a children's movie. Yes, it is very colorful, it talks about the toys, etc. But the story is not for children, simply because they will have a hard time understanding what is going on, also, that the humor used during the movie is for adults. Algo que resaltar de esta película es el diseño de toda la escenografía. Es, literalmente, el mundo rosa de Barbie🌸 Y, además, es el mundo artificial y plástico de la muñeca. Un detalle que aún no sé si me gusta o no. Fue maravilloso ver todo el escenario tal cual como los accesorios de Barbie, pero se sentía extraño y discordante junto a los personajes que, a pesar del vestuario, no lucían como muñecos. Sin embargo, era una hermosa representación del mundo de Barbie.

La casa, el vestuario, los accesorios, todo era tan Barbie. Se veía muy claro la diferencia entre ambos mundos, Barbieland con sus colores rosas muy fuertes y una paleta de diversos tonos pasteles, y luego el mundo real tan... normal y simple. Siempre quise la casa de ensueño de Barbie para mi muñeca, ahora la quiero para mí😂 Por cierto, ¿el carro de Barbie? Precioso 💜 Además, también se nota la diferencia en el personaje, al principio vemos a Barbie como una muñeca, con sus lindos vestidos, tacones y lazos en el cabello, pero a medida que avanza la historia, y ella interactúa con el mundo real, vemos como realiza un cambio, no solo en su personalidad, sino también en toda su imagen fisica.

Something to highlight about this movie is the design of the whole set design. It is, literally, Barbie's pink world🌸 And, also, it is the artificial and plastic world of the doll. A detail that I still don't know if I like it or not. It was wonderful to see all the scenery just as Barbie props, but it felt strange and jarring next to the characters who, despite the costumes, didn't look like dolls. However, it was a beautiful representation of Barbie's world.

The house, the wardrobe, the accessories, everything was so Barbie. It was very clear the difference between the two worlds, Barbieland with its very strong pink colors and a palette of various pastel shades, and then the real world so… normal and simple. I always wanted Barbie's dream house for my doll, now I want it for me😂 By the way, Barbie's car? Beautiful 💜 Also, you also notice the difference in the character, at the beginning we see Barbie as a doll, with her cute dresses, heels and bows in her hair, but as the story progresses, and she interacts with the real world, we see how she makes a change, not only in her personality, but also in her whole physical image.

Al principio de la película, la narradora menciona algo con lo que estoy totalmente de acuerdo, gran parte de los juguetes para niñas son relacionados al rol de una madre y una ama de casa, cosa que no está para nada mal, pero siempre es bueno enseñarles a las niñas que hay muchos lugares en la sociedad que ellas pueden ocupar. Y esa es la principal función de Barbie. Es muy obvio que sería una película feminista y progresista, por ende, no comprendo porqué hay tantas críticas acerca de eso. He leído cosas como: "no representa la familia tradicional", "ridiculiza a los hombres" (algo que hablaré más adelante), pero es Barbie, ¿qué esperaban? Ella fue creada para representar una parte del empoderamiento femenino, y de eso trata la película. Si quieres ver algo más profundo y amplio, no creo que lo encuentres en una película de muñecas.

Así mismo, habla sobre la vulnerabilidad del ser humano. Todos hemos experimentado crisis existenciales en nuestras vidas. Hay momentos en que nos perdemos a nosotros mismos, que no sabemos qué hacer con nuestras vidas, sentimos que todo está mal y que no tenemos fuerzas para continuar. Barbie comprende eso, que la vida real no es color rosa, siempre habrán altibajos, abundante llanto y mucha rabia, pero ahí es donde se encuentra nuestro desarrollo de personaje. También menciona la muerte, algo sumamente normal en la naturaleza humana, pero en un mundo perfecto, de color rosa brillante, es un tema tabú; por lo tanto, lo veo como una referencia de que no está mal salirse de la norma y tener pensamiento crítico.

Y todo estos temas la película lo abarca a través del sarcasmo, y de un humor que puede resultar un poco pesado para personas sensibles, pero eso fue lo que a mí me gusto más.

At the beginning of the movie, the narrator mentions something that I totally agree with, most of the toys for girls are related to the role of a mother and a housewife, which is not bad at all, but it is always good to teach girls that there are many places in society that they can occupy. And that is the main function of Barbie. It's very obvious that it would be a feminist and progressive movie, so I don't understand why there is so much criticism about it. I've read things like: "she doesn't represent the traditional family", "she ridicules men" (something I'll talk about later), but it's Barbie, what do you expect? She was created to represent a part of female empowerment, and that's what the movie is about. If you want to see something deeper and broader, I don't think you'll find it in a doll movie.

It also talks about the vulnerability of the human being. We have all experienced existential crises in our lives. There are times when we lose ourselves, we don't know what to do with our lives, we feel that everything is wrong and that we don't have the strength to go on. Barbie understands that, that real life is not rosy, there will always be ups and downs, plenty of crying and a lot of anger, but that is where our character development lies. It also mentions death, something extremely normal in human nature, but in a perfect, bright pink world, it's a taboo subject; so I see it as a reference that it's okay to step outside the norm and have critical thinking.

And all these issues, the film covers it through sarcasm, and a humor that can be a little heavy for sensitive people, but that's what I liked the most.

Sin duda alguna, lo mejor de la película es Margot Robbie y Ryan Gosling, como Barbie y Ken. Ambos dieron una actuación extraordinaria, de verdad los amé. Margot, como Barbie, fue perfecta, nadie hubiera hecho un mejor trabajo que ella. No solo es tan hermosa como una muñeca, sino que también es increíblemente talentosa. Ese lado ingenuo de Barbie, la manera en que se ve afectada por la realidad del mundo, y la búsqueda de recuperar el control de su vida, Margot supo como interpretarlo de la mejor manera. Debemos estar claros que "Ken" es un accesorio en el gran mundo de Barbie, incluso yo nunca jugué con "Kens", no me interesaba. Y así comienza la película, Ken vive para Barbie, ella es el centro de su universo, pero al tener contacto con el mundo real comienza su proceso de autodescubrimiento. Y a mí me encantó. Porque, en general, Barbie sabe qué es lo que quiere, solo que hasta ahora no había tenido dificultades en su vida, pero Ken estaba vacío. El personaje de Ken, rompe por completo con la "masculinidad frágil"; Ryan Gosling enseña que no está mal que un hombre llore y se pierda así mismo, y por supuesto, no está mal que un hombre delegue poder a una mujer, porque al final, todos pueden ser lo que quieran ser.

Without a doubt, the best of the movie is Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, as Barbie and Ken. They both gave extraordinary performances, I really loved them. Margot as Barbie was perfect, no one could have done a better job than her. Not only is she as beautiful as a doll, but she is also incredibly talented. That naive side of Barbie, the way she is affected by the reality of the world, and the quest to regain control of her life, Margot knew how to play it the best. I cried along with her, it felt so real her desperation and sadness; I too have thrown myself on the floor to cry when something doesn't go my way, but seeing it in a character that, until now, represented "feminine perfection" was a revelation💖

Because, in general, Barbie knows what she wants, she just had no difficulties in her life so far, but Ken was empty. Aunque la película haya abarcado temas sociales muy importantes, hubo algunos detalles que no me gustó como los manejaron. Por ejemplo, la idea de que Ken es solo un accesorio se ve el mundo de Barbie, sin embargo, al final se comprende que no es justo tratar a los "Kens" como objetos, que debe existir la igualdad en cualquier mundo; hasta allí todo es bonito. Es cierto que algunas mujeres llevan el verdadero significado de "feminismo" a un nivel totalmente distorsionado, y lo usan para dañar la imagen del hombre, algo totalmente erróneo, porque si queremos igualdad no podemos despreciar a otros, y Barbie logra comprender eso, pero, el problema es que lo abarcan desde la "comedia", y siento que eso dificulta ver la importancia del momento. Se pierde el respeto de la situación, y sí, se ve un poco ridículo (aunque yo amé las coreografías, estuvieron espectaculares🤩)

Además, al intentar introducir diversos temas —todos importantes— se pierde el hilo de la historia. ¿Es sobre el feminismo y patriarcado? ¿Sobre la relación madre e hija? ¿O es acerca del autodescubrimiento? Se llega a un punto que, aunque comprendes lo que está sucediendo, sientes que no se profundiza en nada; y, por ende, hay inconsistencia en el argumento de la película. Tampoco logré comprender el cruce entre ambos mundos, porque si fuera tan sencillo como lo explican, entonces cualquier persona hubiera llegado a Barbieland, sin embargo, es un detalle que puedo dejar pasar, simplemente me gusta que las cosas estén bien explicadas. De igual manera, me encantó que estuvieran presente los gerentes de Mattel, y pudieron haber hecho algo mucho mejor con ese factor, pero estuvo muy flojo, solo eran unos hombres muy torpes que no aportaban algo significativo a la trama.

Although the film has covered very important social issues, there were some details that I didn't like how they were handled. For example, the idea that Ken is just an accessory is seen in Barbie's world, however, in the end it is understood that it's not fair to treat the “Kens” as objects, that there must be equality in any world; up to there everything is nice. It's true that some women take the true meaning of “feminism” to a totally distorted level, and use it to damage the image of men, something totally wrong, because if we want equality we cannot despise others, and Barbie manages to understand that, but, the problem is that they cover it from the "comedy", and I feel that makes it difficult to see the importance of the moment. It loses the respect of the situation, and yes, it looks a bit ridiculous (although I loved the choreographies, they were spectacular🤩)

Also, in trying to introduce various themes – all important ones – the thread of the story gets lost. Is it about feminism and patriarchy? Is it about the mother-daughter relationship? Or is it about self-discovery? It gets to a point that, although you understand what is going on, you feel that nothing is delved into; and, thus, there is inconsistency in the film's plot. I also failed to understand the crossover between the two worlds, because if it were as simple as they explain it, then anyone would have made it to Barbieland, however, it's a detail I can let slide, I just like that things are well explained. Likewise, I loved that the Mattel managers were present, and they could have done something much better with that factor, but it was very weak, they were just very awkward men who didn't contribute something significant to the plot.

Barbie es una película llena de ambición, y me encantó💗 Como ya dije, disfruté desde el principio hasta el final, y considero que cada chica debe tomarse el tiempo e ir a ver a Barbie, es divertida, es sensible, y es muy femenina. Mucha gente talentosa trabajó aquí, y se nota. Es una buena película para entretenerse, reír y quizás llorar, y para quitarse un poco el estrés de la vida. Y para mí, lo mejor de todo, es que pude verla junto a mis mejores amigos💖 Eso ayudó en que fuera una experiencia maravillosa.

Barbie is a movie full of ambition, and I loved it💗 As I said, I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end, and I consider that every girl should take the time and go see Barbie, it's funny, it's sensitive, and it's very feminine. A lot of talented people worked here, and it shows. It's a good movie to be entertained, to laugh and maybe cry, and to take some stress out of life. And for me, best of all, I got to watch it with my best friends💖 That helped in making it a wonderful experience.

Barbie (2023), is a film that may surprise many for better or for worse, and I consider that the movie may be a little boring because of its humor that at first may seem very silly. Likewise, I don't think that children under 12 years old will enjoy it as much since it really doesn't look anything like those adventures of the doll that they are used to see in the countless animated films that have been made about the character.

The show begins by showing us the colorful world of Barbieland, where all the dolls are named Barbie, the dolls are named Ken, and then there is Allan. The Capitol of this nation is pink, the houses are dreamy and pink, and the women are dressed in pink. It is clear that the main scenery is scenery, and all the accessories of the famous doll are shown, including Ken, (of course, we must understand that we are in a fantasy world that recreates children's games that included Barbie as the protagonist).

In this idyllic world Barbies are presidents, doctors, businesswomen, judges, lawyers, engineers, astronauts, Nobel Prize winners, they are free to do anything away from that figure they call patriarchy.

In my eyes Barbieland is the kingdom of matriarchy, a utopia where all Ken are second-class citizens. An ideal Ken whose job, according to himself, is to play, (he is like an ornament on the beach), is obsessively in love with the Barbie doll and even gave me the impression that he was a stalker.

The perfect and ideal Barbie admires the other Barbies, likes parties and dance choreographies, bathes in a shower from which no water comes out, floats from her bed and drives her pink car. You can tell she likes Ken, but as a friend, which the doll doesn't like very much.

To solve these problems she must go to the real world, which she achieves with the advice of the weird Barbie and her pink map that tells her how to get out; but before this worn Barbie presents her with two paths to choose: to continue with her life as before, represented by a high heeled shoe, or to discover the truth of the world, represented through a more comfortable shoe.

To get to the real world Barbie technically goes through all the fantasy worlds of Barbie, it is something worth seeing and that for those who do not know them will be funny but ridiculous. On this journey she is accompanied by Ken who is so obsessed with her.
