Cuando vi por primera vez que harian una pelicula de Barbie pense que seria un desastre, pues en los ultimos años hemos visto tantas producciones con ideologia feminista radical, que de verdad no tenia esperanza alguna que tuviera algun mensaje positivo, o incluso una buena historia, pero gracias al excelente trabajo hecho por el equipo de marketing de Mattel, hubo un momento donde pense en verla en una sala de cine, pero finalmente desisti, esperando que todo el fenomeno se calmara, y finalmente pude verla hace unos pocos dias, y tengo que comenzar esta reseña con un "no me equivoque en los absoluto"...

La pelicula de Barbie plantea la existencia de un mundo distopico donde existe una mujer que representa cada una de las versiones de la famosa muñeca, donde su dia a dia se basa en fiestas y en actividades comunes que haria o pensaria cualquier niña que jugara con ellas. Incluso se ve una imagen de otros productos de la marca como los Ken que solo existen para complacer y contemplar a las Barbies, algo que realmente no me parecio mal, viendo lo que representan para las muñecas, aunque como todo latino, hizo falta la presencia del Max Steel, su pareja por excelencia en nuestra cultura, jajaja.

Pero casi inmediatamente despues de presentarnos el mundo de las Barbies, todo se fue en picada, pues pese a que la Barbie protagonista empieza hacerse cuestionamientos de su propia existencia, pensando en conceptos como la vida y la muerte, en vez de aprovechar esto para lograr un gran desarrollo de personaje, resolvieron todo de la forma mas plastica posible, y aunque entiendo que es una pelicula principalmente enfocada para niñas, termina siendo un insulto para el sentido comun.

Ademas de esto, con el desarrollo de los Ken y sus cambios de proposito y forma de actuar luego de llegar a nuestro mundo hipermachista, me parecio como una total provocacion al seguir vendiendo esa imagen politizada de la mujer victimizada y el hombre opresor e insensible, y aunque no puedo negar que en mundo seguimos escuchando y viendo esta clase de historias, siempre he pensado que los buenos somos mas, y hacer a cualquiera un villano por no pensar de esta forma tan retorcida, simplemente me parece mal.

Es increible como hay tantas personas e instituciones que se encargan de valorar el cine vean este discurso superficial y cliche como una obra de maestra, me hace pensar que como sociedad aun tenemos muchas cosas que arreglar, pues mas alla de todos los esteriotipos que mencione, hay mucho mas, desde el juguete mejor amigo de Ken olvidado por la compañia, que pese a ser el unico con algo de sesos, es ninguneado por todos, el desprecio por figuras de "machismo" como los vaqueros, que fue una parte importante de muchas infancias en decadas pasadas, y asi puedo continuar y hacer el post eterno.

Tampoco puedo decir que todo es absolumente negativo, hay escenas y momentos divertidos, sobre todo por parte de Ryan Gosling, que es para mi el mejor en la pelicula, con bastante diferencia. Las ambientaciones tambien me parecieron interesantes, muchas de las casa de juguete, el mar y otras locaciones son complemente rosadas y llamativas, algo que por concepto de la pelicula, ya que facilmente pueden salir del pensamiento o imaginacion de quienes juegan con todos estos productos, y pues es en ellos en quienes deben enfocarse, y pues la banda sonora tambien esta a la altura de una megaproduccion.

La pelicula y el fenomeno son dos cosas completamente diferentes, y aunque estoy muy convencido que en unos años nadie se acordara de esta pelicula, en el futuro sera una gran leccion de lo que debe representar el cine, el femenismo, y hasta nuestra propia sociedad.
